Fan video tribute to Alex O'Loughlin as Mick St John

What better way to welcome a fabulous new year than with a tribute to Mick St John?!? :) Kate448 created this excellent fan video using the song Take My Breath Away by Berlin. I think she knows us too well ~ hahaha! She selected some of the best scenes of Alex O'Loughlin using those expressive eyes of his, eyebrow raising, shirt ripping, freezer lounging.... Ooooo my....

I hope you have a fun, SAFE time celebrating on New Year's Eve. Happy 2008 everyone!

Shannyn Sossamon starring in new film ~ One Missed Call

Shannyn Sossamon (Coraline to Moonlight fans) has a new movie coming out this Friday. One Missed Call is a remake of a Japanese horror flick. Shannyn stars as Beth Raymond. (How funny that her character is named Beth) The premise of the film is that people receive a message on cell phone that details the scary final moment of their life just days before they die.

Ed Burns co-stars in the movie as police detective, Jack Andrews. He worked with Shannyn previously in the film The Holiday...... in which Alex O'Loughlin also had a brief part. Small world! Alex is part of the kissing couple in the opening scene.

Horror.com's Staci Layne Wilson did an interview with Shannyn on the movie set. You can read it here ~

One Missed Call premieres on Friday, January 4th, 2008.

Alex O'loughlin & Moonlight in People's Choice Awards Promo Video

Hey guys..... A new promo video has been added to the People's Choice Awards website. Queen Latifah is urging everyone to vote for their favorites in movies, music and television. When she mentions each category, a small clip is shown as an example. For movies, it is Johnny Depp as Captain Jack in Pirates of the Caribbean. What do they use for television?!? A spot of Alex O'Loughlin as Mick St John.... of course! YEA! CBS will air the People's Choice Awards, so it makes sense for the network to feature their own program. They could have used a snippet from one of their other series that were nominated, such as Two and a Half Men or CSI. Instead, they chose Moonlight!

To see for yourself, use this link to their website. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select the 1st video on the left. It has the American flag as a background.

http://www.pcavote.com/pca/show.jsp

Oooooooo.... and while you are there.... vote for Moonlight :) The awards show will be on Tuesday, January 8th, 2008 at 8:00 PM CST.

Reader created collage wallpaper of Mick St John

My friend, TexasBlondie, created this wonderful photo wallpaper of Mick St John. She wants to share it with you! These are awesome images of Alex O'Loughlin.... especially the one of his patented eyebrow raise.

Vote for Moonlight on the E! Online's Site

The lovely Kristin Dos Santos, of Watch with Kristin fame, has listed her Top 10 tv shows for 2007. Unfortunately, our show was not one of her faves (yet!). However, she has asked for viewers to vote at her E! Online blog to tell her what television programs we love. This is very important because Kristin says the voting will "largely determine what we cover in this show & in my column in the coming year." Go vote for Moonlight!

Moonlight on Top 20 list of shows with high Internet activity

Hitwise is an Internet research company. They recently released a list of television shows that have the largest number of visits on the web. Per an article in Media Post.......

Three rookie shows made the top 20: CW's "Gossip Girl" at 11th place with a 1.36% market share; NBC's "Chuck" in 16th place with a 1.04% share; and CBS' "Moonlight," in 17th place at a 1.03% share.

NBC's "Deal or No Deal" garnered the largest share of viewer visits. The show garnered a 48% market share of Internet visits for the week ending Dec. 15. The next-biggest show was Fox's venerable "America's Most Wanted," taking in a far-distant 3.8% market share.

48%? WOW! It is great that Moonlight made the list out of all the new programs. We need to be sure to visit the official CBS site as often as possible.

Final Scene ~ Mick Reveals Himself to Beth ~ Out of the Past (episode #1x02)

This video is of the emotional final scene in Out of the Past (episode #1x02). Mick has to reveal to Beth that he is a Vampire. What a pivotal moment in their relationship! I have seen this last scene many, many times. It still grabs me! Alex's performance is incredible.

Forever and Ever Amen by 8mm is the song playing.

Recap ~ Out Of The Past (Episode #1x02)

SPOILER ALERT ~ Recap of Out of the Past ~ Episode #1x02

Since we were introduced to Beth and Mick in No Such Thing as Vampires, the writers were able to explore their budding relationship in this episode. Alex is so into the character. Even when he is not speaking, his eyes and body language talk to us.

Lee Jay had great reference books. Everyone, including Beth and the assassin in Sleeping Beauty, assumes that the old stories of stakes killing vamps and such are true. However, Lee Jay knows that staking will only paralyze and silver is poison to Moonlight vamps.

If Mick told me that someone was trouble, I would believe him. He is so sincere when he says "Trust me."

How funny was the exchange between Mick and his former police pal, Bobby? "Hey... what's with these muscles? How you stayin so fit? "Uh you know... diet"

Mick looks sooooooo good at the book release party. :)

You have to really hate someone to bash your own head into a glass and then to shoot yourself. No escape for Mick in that restroom.... turning in circles... caged.

We learned more about Mick in the past. He calls himself "young and stupid." He sure gave Lee Jay a beating. Of course, that is when he thought violence solved everything.

Still love the 80's flashback scene of Mick and Josef. "Red or White?" Duran Duran! I would like to see an entire episode about that time in their long lives.

Tough love from Josef.

Who did Mick go to for help? Beth!

Poor Josh! Beth calling out another man's name in her sleep had to hurt. He is a decent, cute and good guy..... just can't compete with Mick. Who could? He did the right thing and helped Mick.

I also like that Mick is a gentleman and thanked Josh.

Beth learning this early in the series that Mick is a Vampire has been the source of debate. Many people feel that it was too soon, or that she shouldn't have known until the final episode. I happen to like the fact that she already knows. Beth is an investigative reporter after all. She wouldn't be very good if she ignored the facts. When the hero has a secret identity, it has always bothered me that the love interest has to be blind to all the evidence piling up around them.

Another symptom of the love interest is the constant need to be rescued. Which is why I love the fact that Beth saved Mick this time! "I thought I told you to stay in the car." haha....

Alex was amazing in the last scene.... his breathing and voice. You could just feel Mick's pain. When he showed up at her apartment, he wanted to tell Beth that he was a vamp but couldn't. Now he was not only going to be forced to reveal himself, but had to do so while vamped out. Showing her the "monster" he believes himself to be.

Video of New CBS Promo for Moonlight & Mick St John!

Have you been lucky enough to catch the new CBS promo for Mick St John & Moonlight? Now, we can watch the video any time we want, and as many times as we want. It is my favorite! Last night, I sat through an old rerun of CSI NY just to scrutinize this sexy little commercial. All of that for a 20 second clip. It was worth it! *grin*

"Meet Mick ~ He's a Vamp ~ He's also Hot ~ He's all yours Friday Night!" Could anyone other than Alex O'Loughlin be that mesmerizing with only a few seconds to work with?!? Oooooooo my.... Do you think the television network has realized why most people watch Moonlight? Hehehehe.....

The song used is How Do You Do by Natasha Bedingfield. Again, Moonlight's choice of music is fantastic. Here are the words featured during the promo ~

"How do you do? If you won't say it, I will! How do you do? I'm really pleased to meet you. How do you do? Gotta say it how I feel it. Say it or I will. Say it or I will"

Very appropriate for our Beth Turner and her actions thus far in the series, as well as how we feel about Mick. Check out a bit more of the song lyrics which were not in the short tv spot... see what you think :)

"If it's weird for girls to give guys flowers, then maybe that's a reason too. You're not climbing up my ivory tower, so I'm comin' down for you.

Is it wrong to be the instigator? Is it bad to be the move maker? Guess I gotta be the first to say, to say, to say... How do you do? If you won't say it, I will. How do you do? I'm really pleased to meet you. How do you do? Gotta say it how I feel it. Say it or I will.

When you're hanging at the point of stalemate. It's not the time to bite your tongue. So at the risk of looking really stupid, I'm gonna take the plunge."

I wish they would release a Moonlight soundtrack!

Spoiler ~ Sneak Peek Promo Video for Out of the Past (episode #1x02)

SPOILER ALERT! Tonight, CBS will rebroadcast Moonlight's Out of the Past episode (#1x02). Here is a sneak peek promo video. Great scene! I am looking foward to watching the second episode of the show again. A very pivotal moment in the MickBeth story takes place in it.

Comment on TV Guide's healthiest television stars question

More fun on TV Guide's website. :) Now, they are asking "Who are tv's healthiest stars?" Based on the comments left by viewers, TV Guide will do a poll with the top names listed. Then, the readers will select a winner.

Talk about healthy! Alex O'Loughlin is well represented in the posts already. Jason Dohring & Sophia Myles also have been mentioned a few times. As you will see, I praised Alex, Jason and Brian J White ~ who plays Lt Carl Davis. In Moonlight's Sleeping Beauty episode (#1x10), we got to see what Josef is hiding under those suits. From the photo above, I think you will agree that we need a similar scene soon with Carl. *wink*

Australia's Woman's Day Magazine Interviews Alex O'Loughlin

Jacqui Lang has interviewed our Alex for Australian magazine, Woman's Day. He has mentioned the long hours he works to give us Moonlight in many articles. I really felt for him when I read his answer to what he wants for Christmas. A longer version of the interview is in the publication's issue that went on sale (in Australia) December 24th, 2007.

Alex is lucky and in love

Devilishly handsome Alex O'Loughlin, 31, is yet another Aussie actor making his way in Tinseltown, starring as a likeable vampire in Nine's new series Moonlight. In real life, Alex is also the devoted boyfriend of singer Holly Valance — just don't ask him about her!

Jacqui :
On Moonlight, you suck a bit of blood from time to time?

Alex :
Yeah, I suck lots of blood.

Jacqui :
How do you rehearse that?

Alex :
You can't rehearse, you just go for it!

Jacqui :
While you're in a role do you speak in the required accent all the time?

Alex :
Yes and some people criticize that. At the end of the day, my face will be on screen and I want to play the character as well as I can. I lived in New York with Jonathan Rhys Meyers while making the movie August Rush — in which I play a Dubliner — and it was helpful that Jonathan is Irish. I kept that accent for four months. That can be quite confrontational for people around me.

Jacqui :
Is it true you nearly scored the role of James Bond (that Daniel Craig won)?

Alex :
Yeah, it is. I flew to London and screen-tested for it — and obviously didn't get it. But at least I got to be Bond for a day!

Jacqui :
Despite not becoming James Bond, are people starting to recognise you in the street?

Alex :
Yes, it's weird. It's nice having your work recognized but having people follow you around is kinda weird.

Jacqui :
What do you want for Christmas?

Alex :
To sleep. I badly need a vacation.

TV Guide ~ Matt Roush gives his opinion about Moonlight being renewed

TV Guide's Matt Roush was questioned about which television shows he thinks will be picked up for a second season. He answered in his Ask Matt column. Of course.... I will post it below for you :) The yellow is my happy emphasis!

Connie L. :

Hey, how 'bout telling all of us what your top five and bottom five new shows are, whether they've been canceled or not? In order if possible. Will Chuck make it into your top five list? Also, what new shows do you think will be around for a second season? If there is a second season — or any seasons left with this forever-strike, that is.

Matt Roush :

I'm assuming you're asking about new "fall season" network shows, as opposed to new shows of 2007 in general, in which case I'd probably flood the list with summer series like Mad Men, Damages and Burn Notice. Going by the criteria of new fall network series, the five new shows I've enjoyed most consistently would include (in order) Pushing Daisies, Chuck, Dirty Sexy Money, The Big Bang Theory and Gossip Girl. The list of five shows I most actively disliked would include (starting with the worst) Viva Laughlin, Big Shots, Cavemen, Bionic Woman and (because of how far it falls below expectations) Private Practice, which works my last nerve. Predicting renewals is tricky because of the strike, but I'd think most of the shows that got even a symbolic full-season pickup would have to be considered strong contenders to return for a second season. That list includes my above top five as well as Private Practice, Samantha Who?, Life, possibly Back to You, Women's Murder Club and, despite not having been picked up yet, Moonlight.

CBS First Annual Year in Review Photo Gallery Includes Moonlight!

CBS Entertainment has released the First Annual Year in Review Photo Gallery for their tv shows.... and Moonlight is included! *cheer* They showcased these three lovely photos of Alex O'Loughlin as Mr Mick St John. Jericho, CSI, The Big Bang Theory, CSI Miami, Ghost Whisperer, Cane, The Amazing Race, Big Brother, How I Met Your Mother, Kid Nation, Craig Ferguson of the Late Late Show, NCIS, The New Adventures of Old Christine, Numb3rs, Power of 10, CSI NY, The Price is Right, Two and A Half Men, Rules of Engagement, Survivor, Shark & The Unit are the other television series that were selected. Several shows only have one picture in the gallery. Of course, Moonlight fans think it would look even better if every photograph was of Alex! *grin*

Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas, Moonlight Fans! :)

I want you to have a very Merry Christmas! Here is a little MickBeth fan video, by the talented Bristow3269, to convey my warm wishes to you. I consider Moonlight and all the wonderful people it has brought into my life to be my X-mas gifts. :) Though I have only "known" you for a few months, you have brightened my 2007 even more! Happy wishes for a New Year filled with nothing but good stuff!

XO ~

Kandye

PS...... the song used for this video is All I Want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey.

SyFy Portal lists top genre shows & their opinion of Moonlight

Michael Hinman, at SyFy Portal, wrote a great article about the top genre shows for the first 10 weeks of this television season. Moonlight was the fourth rated series in this category! He had some very positive things to say about our show's ratings & possibility of being renewed. I'll share his opinion with you :)

Moonlight was probably the biggest surprise of the season, finishing in fourth place with a 5.1/9, incredibly just a little more than half a ratings point off its series premiere of 5.8/11. Only Smallville and Supernatual on The CW have been able to retain that much of its premiere audience. Moonlight's lowest rating in the first 10 weeks was just a little more than one ratings point off its premiere. While the show is still not pulling in the numbers that its companion shows are for CBS Friday night, it does seem like Moonlight will be around for a while.

Overall, there's no doubt that Heroes and Pushing Daisies will earn pickups in the coming weeks if not renewals (all turned upside down by the Writers Guild of America strike), and Moonlight and Chuck also are expected to see longer lives.

Heroes was the number one genre show.

Behind the Scenes of Moonlight with Alex & Sophia

This is a super cool fan video created by CBS. It shows a glimpse behind the scenes on the Moonlight set! Alex O'Loughlin and Sophia Myles are featured in this quick, light hearted clip. For a brief second you can see Jason Dohring smiling in the background.

It is good to see how well they get along off camera. Alex is joking around as usual, and pokes a bit of fun at his own expense ~ "But I'm the lead." When asked if he is starting to feel like a Vampyre, he replies "Yes." Yum! Sophia admits to having a girl crush on Shannyn Sossamon. Shhhhhhh.... remember, Alex asked us to keep that a secret. hahaha! Since the show began, I've been lobbying for interviews with the cast all together. This gives us a taste of how great it would be to have them chatting and bouncing jokes off each other.

Moonlight fan campaign to book Alex O'Loughlin on daytime talk shows

A dedicated Moonlight fan and blog reader sent me the following information. This is another great idea for supporting our show! Plus, we would all love to see more Alex interviews, right? :)

I’ve spoken to a friend who works for one of the networks. They suggested if we want to really support the show, and even better raise the viewer numbers, the best way to do it is to contact the top three talk shows to ask to have Alex on the show. We know that Alex is charismatic, funny and personable so the key is to get him on these chat shows to give the show exposure. We MUST get the show bookers to recognize that there’s an audience out there who want to see Alex and hear about the show.

If we do a write in campaign to Ellen, the View and Regis & Kelly we can potentially get him booked on these shows to raise awareness for Moonlight and Alex’s profile.

They book for these shows about a month in advance. If we start now, by the time everyone is back from the holidays, it might start to make an impact. Trust me this is going to be a successful way of raising the profile of the show and hopefully the numbers.

Here’s the email and mailing addresses for these shows.

Tips for making a mass number of post cards.

If you want to do postcards, I can tell you some simple ways of making loads at one time. You can make up 33 (on a page) address labels with the addresses for the production companies. Then you only need to fill in the backs of the postcards, saying:

"Please have on Alex O’Loughlin. We love Moonlight! Alex O’Loughlin would be a great guest! I am a regular viewer and would love to see him."

You can buy premade postcards at the post office that already have the postage on them if that helps save time. Also, keep in mind send them in a few handful of postcards everyday, not all at once.

If everyone could add this to their list of Moonlight things to do it would be REALLY beneficial.

SPOILER ALERT ~ Promo photo wallpaper of Mick from Love Lasts Forever #1x11

SPOILER ALERT!

We thought we only had to wait two weeks for a fresh episode of Moonlight. Now, the scoop is out that CBS has decided not to show Love Lasts Forever (episode #1x11) on January 4th, 2008. Instead, the network will rebroadcast Dr. Feelgood (episode #1x03). At least, we still get our Moonlight fix with repeats every week. Just hafta wait a little longer for a new one.

Since Moonlight fans are a bit down from hearing this news, I think we deserve a boost. :> More free Alex O'Loughlin Wallpapers! A new Mick St John background for your computer desktop, MySpace layout, Facebook, website & page. AOL everywhere you look ~ Darn! *grin*

This promo photo image is from the upcoming ~ and recently postponed ~ Love Lasts Forever episode. The photograph does not give away any of the plot. However, I put a spoiler tag on the post to let you know it is from the future. Close up and full length versions for you! Can you pick just one? I couldn't :)

CBS changes Moonlight's schedule for January 2008

Hey everyone! It looks like CBS has changed Moonlight's schedule for January 2008. They sent out a release stating Dr. Feelgood (episode #1x03) will air on 01/04/08, instead of the new Love Lasts Forever episode (#1x011). No word yet on the final new show ~ The Mortal Cure (#1x12) ~ which currently has an air date of 01/11/08.

They also announced that Ghost Whisperer and Numb3rs will be rerun episodes on that night.

Perhaps, they are holding the new shows for the next sweeps period in February. If that is true, it could mean they have confidence in Moonlight bringing good ratings for the network during that crucial time. The continued writer's strike is causing all the networks to shuffle and rearrange their meager holdings of unaired fresh episodes. Soon, they may have only unscripted reality shows to offer. The repeats will be great for fans who missed the episodes the first time. Of course, those of us who adore the show can watch them over & over. You know I will keep you posted about Moonlight's schedule :)

December 28th, 2007 ~ Out of the Past ~ Episode #1x02 ~ Rerun

January 4th, 2008 ~ Dr. Feelgood ~ Episode #1x03 ~ Rerun

Since we are talking about CBS, this seemed like an opportune time to remind you to keep calling and writing the network! We have had some positive rumors lately. That just means that we need to continue to contact the powers that be in support of Moonlight :)

I encourage you to visit the official CBS website for Moonlight as often as possible. They track the number of hits their show's pages receive.

Here are some ideas of what to do once you are on their site...... Send feedback, click on their link to the People's Choice Awards voting site (they can track that too), search the CBS Store for Moonlight items and contact the store to request merchandise for our show.

TV Guide ~ Matt Roush's Year in Review

TV Guide's television show critic & reviewer, Matt Roush, has written his "Year in Review." Out of all the new Fall shows, the lovely Matt selected Moonlight as one of the few he mentions in the article!!! Here is what he had to say. The yellow highlighted portion is my emphasis.

That's Incredible!

It's hard to know whether to curse or to embrace Heroes, whose success inevitably spawned a rush to develop more shows with a fantastic or supernatural bent. Some are showing promise, like CBS's steadily improving vampire mystery Moonlight, which has caught on modestly on Fridays. Others appear to have stalled, like the glum and numbing Bionic Woman remake and the ponderous time-tripping Journeyman, both on NBC. Meanwhile, as Heroes lost narrative momentum in its second season, Sci Fi's Battlestar Galactica continues to pave the way for truly visionary sci-fi storytelling, delivering a brave political-religious allegory amid the gripping action. And the best new show of the fall season? ABC's delightful Pushing Daisies, a colorfully wacky fable of resurrection that restores one's faith in TV's ability to amuse and enchant, if you open your heart and mind to the possibility.

Video ~ Beth & Mick Hug ~ Last Scene from No Such Thing as Vampires

This video is of the emotional final scene from Moonlight's pilot episode ~ No Such Thing as Vampires (#1x01). We can watch Beth and Mick's first hug again. "It's alright.... You're with me." *swoon*

Thank goodness we have such a talented cast! Sophia really portrays the gratitude & bewilderment that Beth must be experiencing. What can I say about Alex? Perfect for the role of Mick. For the audience (who know he is Beth's childhood savior), his facial expressions convey what Mick is feeling about being reunited with her & rescuing her again... while at the same time showing Beth only care and concern.

Of course, the song playing is My Immortal by Evanescence.

Ask a People's Choice Nominee your question

Hi all..... Previously, I explained the changes being made to the People's Choice Awards' show due to the writer's strike. One of the new things is they are allowing the fans to send in questions that they will then ask the nominees. Fun! Can you imagine how flooded they are gonna be with inquiries from Moonlight's fans?!?? *grin* Here is a link to use to send in your question ~

Recap ~ No Such Thing as Vampires ~ Pilot Episode #1x01

Let's talk about Moonlight's pilot episode ~ No Such Thing as Vampires (#1x01).

SPOILER ALERT! If you STILL haven't seen the first episode of the series, do not read this post..... unless you want to know what happens :)

I enjoyed watching the pilot again! Reviewing it with the knowledge of what happens in future episodes made it especially interesting. We know that Moonlight just gets better and better every week.

Did you notice it is Beth's voice asking the questions during the "Interview with a Vampire" opening scene? Mick wants her to understand him. He is afraid she will see him as the monster that he perceives himself to be since being turned.

The first time we see Mick in his trusty freezer. YUM!

Marshall sighting! I like the show Alias, so it was nice to see Kevin Weisman pop up as Beth's camera guy. Just wish he had more to do. He had one of the lines that made me giggle. When Beth says, "I've become a news whore overnight." Steve replies, "Not overnight." ha!

When the handsome Lt Carl and Beth are talking at the crime scene, I wondered (again) just how well they know each other. They appear to be pretty familiar. Is that just from Beth's crime reporting? It is mentioned that this is her first on air story for BuzzWire, but she has obviously been writing articles for a while before making the move to being on camera.

I still want one of those cool iPhones.

Many of my favorite Josef quotes are from this episode. "Sooner or later your inner vampire is going to demand to be fed." <--- currently my profile phrase on MySpace. "What is it? Like... Non-fat, soy, Vegan blood?" "Vampire experts ~ beautiful! Now, we got the food mouthing off about the farmer." "Vampire solidarity ~ rah, rah, rah and all that." Better restrain myself or I will end up quoting every line that Jason utters.

Rudolf Martin plays Professor Christian Ellis. He thinks he is a vamp on our show, and he portrayed Dracula on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Beth smashing a vase over Mick's head and his emotionless "Ouch" makes me laugh every time. As does this exchange.... "How do I know you're not the killer? Well, because I'm not killing you. ......let's go with that cuz that's comforting..."

She is surprised that he knows who she is and all about BuzzWire.

I've mentioned this before.... this bit of dialogue between Beth and Mick gets me laughing too. "So, we're talking Vampires? You know, some people actually find them attractive. Really? Yea." Poor Mick! His "yea" sounds so deflated.

Leaving the funeral, Mick gets into his car. Beth places her hand on his to stop him & ask for the blood vial. He looks down at her hand on top of his for a split second. Alex is great with these little moments that tell you so much about Mick's feelings.

Mick is so smooth with the professor's wife. Imagine him showing up on your doorstep. Ooooo my....

The scene in which Mick confronts the professor, and he thinks he is schooling Mick in the ways of the Vampire is too amusing. "When most people hear the word Vampyre, they immediately conjure up an image of some undead monstrosity running around at night trying to drink human blood." With the perfect expression on his face, Mick says "hate that" under his breath. *chuckle* This scene also reminds me of one in Alex's film, Feed, in which he faces off with the cop.

Love the camera angle used when Mick closes the blinds in the professor's office.

Carl.... "Threesomes never end well" hehehe

Josef in Mick's loft when he returns is a cool scene. They play so well off each other. I will contain my desire to quote the whole thing. :)

Since I'm super into diners, Cadillac Jack's is my kinda place. Well.... except for the possibility of getting murdered by a crazy grad student thing.

Speaking of.... How come the creepy killer TA, Daniel, gets to use an accent but Alex doesn't?!? *grin*

Adore how Mick is protective and concerned for Beth.

We got to see Mick vamp out several times in this episode. YEA! He easily manhandles the professor (priceless expression on his face when Mick transforms into a Vampire in front of him) and the killer.

Even though he is hurt during the car chase/crash, Mick wills himself to get up and run to save Beth. The silly killer thinks he has triumphed by stabbing Mick. That smug expression quickly changes to shock & fear as Mick stands again... and hurls him effortlessly!

During the flashback fight scene with Coraline, they are beating each other senseless. In the middle of it, for a brief moment they starting kissing! Then, back to fighting. Josef is correct in his assessment of their crazy love.

Throughout the episode, Beth is convinced that she has seen Mick before they "met" at the crime scene. After he rescues her from Daniel, she awakens on his couch. She says that he saved her when she was little. Mick dismisses the truth again by saying, "You got a really nasty bump on your head tonight."

Moonlight does ending scenes better than any other show. It all began with the one tonight. Beth hugs Mick in gratitude and he slowly puts his arms around her in return. Just the look on his face conveys the emotions.

There are some time line discrepancies, which we have talked about previously. Josef says Mick is 90 years old, but Mick tells Beth he is 85 in a future episode. When Mick holds out his hand to Beth at the end, the voice over states, "60 years is a long time to deny yourself the touch of another." However, he has only been a vamp since 1952. He was on & off with Coraline until she kidnapped Beth (and he thought he killed her) in 1985. Several things could explain these differences...... We have all rounded years up and/or down in telling a story. Or, exaggerated to make a point. There were sooo many behind the scenes changes before Moonlight ever even aired. Originally, Mick was supposed to meet & marry Coraline in the 1940's. None of this keeps me from loving the show ~ in case you hadn't noticed *wink*

BuddyTV article predicting Moonlight's renewal

The talented, Kris De Leon, has written a great article for BuddyTV predicting that Moonlight will be given a full season order. Read on and you will see why I like what Kris has to say! *grin*

Moonlight: Most Likely To Get Full-Season Order

Moonlight has undeniably increased its fan base over the course of 10 episodes. Though the show initially garnered mediocre ratings and though critics deemed the pilot as a rip-off the supernatural series Angel, Ron Koslow and Trevor Munson's paranormal romance creation has certainly stepped up among its freshmen contenders and has blossomed into a hit series with a very promising future with CBS.

According to TV Guide, all signs point to an imminent full-season order of Moonlight, though it hasn't been officially announced. CBS exec Nina Tassler reportedly believe that the show has a lot of potential for growth, especially with its lead star Alex O'Loughlin, who plays the private investigator Mick St. John who struggles with his vampire nature and his love for a mortal woman. Giving more support to this news is Les Moonves, President of CBS, who stated that Moonlight is likely to return for a second season, along with fellow freshmen comedy The Big Bang Theory.

Indications of the renewal are most likely to come from Moonlight's rating performance. FutonCritic.com reports that Moonlight is one of the series to deliver season high ratings in November, including How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, Two and A Half Men, NCIS, Criminal Minds, CSI: Miami, Without A Trace, and The Amazing Race, among others. It also helps that the show is relatively cheap to produce and has been consistently beating Women's Murder Club in young demos. Last week's numbers proved to be very favorable for Moonlight as it became first in households (4.9/09), viewers (7.57m), adults 25-54 (2.8/08) and adults 18-49 (2.1/06). Moonlight has ranked number 1 in adults 25-54 for the ninth time in ten broadcasts and number 1 in adults 18-49 the eighth time in ten broadcasts.Catch Moonlight every Friday at 9pm ET/PT on CBS.

Moonlight Video Promo ~ Creepy vs Sexy

Since CBS is going back to the beginning tonight by rerunning Moonlight's pilot episode (No Such Thing as Vampires #1x01), I thought we should do the same. This is one of the original promo videos for our show. Creepy vs Sexy ~ comparing our modern Mick to the old vision of a vamp in Nosferatu. Obviously, the network realized right from the start what they had on their hands in Alex O'Loughlin. Yum, indeed!

This video also has one of my favorite dialogue exchanges between Mick and Beth, which is from the pilot.

"So, we're talking Vampires?" ~ Beth

"You know, some people actually find them attractive." ~ Mick

"Really?" ~ Beth with a very clear look of disbelief on her face

"Yea" ~ Mick ~ The look Alex gives as he says that single, resigned word is perfect.

Did you notice one quick scene flash that is from the original filming before the recasting? It shows the back of the first Beth's head (played by Shannon Lucio) with Mick at his apartment door. You can also tell it is the old footage because of Mick's shorter hair and the type of shirt he is wearing... totally different from the Henley's and steamy button down shirts we have come to know & love. *grin* Even the door and apartment are different. Check out the image that is freeze framed on the video before you hit play and you will see what I mean. :)

Promo photos from tomorrow night's rebroadcast of Moonlight's pilot episode (#1x01)

We have to wait until January for the next new episode of Moonlight. However, CBS is not leaving us completely without our show. Tomorrow night, they are rebroadcasting the pilot episode ~ No Such Thing as Vampires (#1x01). We will get our Mick fix! I have seen each show numerous times, but will still be glued to my television to watch again. It will also be great for Moonlight fans who jumped into the series in the middle. See how the addiction began!

Here are a few lovely promo photos from the pilot for you :)

People's Choice Awards show cancelled, but winners will still be announced!

People's Choice AwardsGo to PCAVote.com

The People's Choice Awards show has been cancelled. However, winners will still be announced so please keep voting every day!

Since the WGA would not give the award ceremony a strike waiver, the organizers feared that the usually celebrity filled evening would be star-less. There would also be no one to write the jokes and lines for the evening. The plan is to pre-tape clips and such for each category. Queen Latifah will also tape her segments on a sound stage instead of at the Shrine Auditorium. If the writer's strike does not end soon, the upcoming Golden Globe Awards may be in the same predicament.

I think you will be excited about another change to the show. They are asking the fans to send in questions they have for the stars. During their acceptance speeches, the winners will answer a few of them. :)

Thus far, over 10 million votes have been cast this year!

CBS will air the awards program on Tuesday, January 8th, 2008 as scheduled.

MORE! CBS Moonlight Video #3 ~ Live Audience

Someone must have filled the CBS production offices with laughing gas tonight! The tag line for this third Moonlight video is "Ever wondered what Moonlight would be like in front of a live studio audience?" They have taken the scene of Mick confronting the professor who thinks he is a vamp in the pilot episode (No Such Thing as Vampires #1x01) and added one of those annoying studio laugh tracks. Hilarious!

In the last couple of days, CBS has created and posted five Moonlight videos ~ six including the Explosions promo of our show with several others ~ and seven if you count the 2 minute recap of Sleeping Beauty. CBS is paying attention to our show :) I like this trend!

Did you notice that each video featured scenes from the premiere episode? I wonder if they focused on those images because CBS is rebroadcasting it this Friday.

CBS Moonlight Video #2 ~ Vampire Remix

On to our 2nd video..... CBS did this montage of all our Moonlight characters saying "Vampire." Of course, Josef gets the best lines! "Hungry!" One of my fave quotes from him is in this video ~ "You seriously drink this stuff? What is it... like non fat, soy, vegan blood?" Then, Mick vamps out at the end. YEA!!!

Scenes from "No Such Thing as Vampires" (episode #1x01) again.

Funny Moonlight Video #1 from CBS ~ Dialogue Coach

More video love from CBS! They have created THREE new Moonlight fan videos today. First ~ Dialogue Coach is a funny take on the fact that Alex O'Loughlin is from Australia and Sophia Myles is British. What would it be like if they used extreme versions of their accents instead of playing Americans on the show. Did you notice the voice over guy mispronounces both of their names? He says o-LOF-lin, instead of LOCK and so-FEE-a, not FI. Perhaps, that is all part of the silliness.

The scene selected is Mick and Beth in the dead girl's apartment from the pilot episode ~ No Such Thing as Vampires (#1x01).

Moonlight's ratings from 2nd episode shown in Australia last night

Moonlight's second episode ~ Out of the Past #1x02 ~ was broadcast last night (Wednesday, December 19th, 2007) in Australia. Wednesday was last night for them and tonight for us! I always feel like I'm time traveling when I go to the Aussie web sites and they have tomorrow's date already. *grin*

According to the Australian television ratings chart, Moonlight had 664,000 viewers and was in 16th place. That is down from the number of premiere watchers last week ~ 696,000. However, our show did build on its lead in show, ER, again this time out. ER attracted 629,000 viewers & was number 18. The number of people who tuned in for it was also down from last week's 658,000.

Vicar of Dibley won the night's ratings race this week too with 1,469,000 viewers on ABC.

Here are a few more numbers for American programs, in case you are interested. :)

10. That 70's Show Seven 887,000
12. The Starter Wife Ten 774,000
13. The King of Queens Nine 773,000
17. Men In Trees Nine 638,000
20. Friends Ten 616,000
24. Cane Ten 504,000
33. 30 Rock Seven 353,000

Moonlight airs in Australia on Wednesday nights at 9:30 on Channel Nine!

TV Guide's Michael Ausiello answers reader's question about Moonlight being renewed

I'm a big fan of TV Guide, especially since they seem to adore Alex O'Loughlin too. :) Michael Ausiello is Mr Scoop. If you've read his work, you know that he has lots of connections and always has behind the scenes info. He also is easily distracted by Smurfs and Snapple, but that is beside the point. ha!

In his Ask Ausiello column today, Michael gives his opinion on the possibility of Moonight being renewed by CBS. I think you are gonna like his answer! *wink*

Question from MLA :
What's the scoop on Moonlight? Is CBS going to renew it or what?

Ausiello :

There's still nothing official, but all signs point to an imminent full-season order — or what qualifies as a full season these days. According to my spies inside CBS, the higher-ups at the Eye — entertainment president Nina Tassler in particular — believe the show has tremendous growth potential and that they have a genuine star in leading man Alex O'Loughlin. (Hmmm, ya think?) It also helps that the show is relatively cheap to produce and it's been consistently beating Women's Murder Club in young demos.

Very positive! *CHEER* I like his snarky "ya think?" remark about Alex being a star. Who in this world can not see that by now?!?! Oooooo.... Michael had this photo of himself on his website & I had to have it. :>

Sci Fi Wire talks to Shannyn Sossamon

Sci Fi Wire is the SciFi Channel's news service. Their reporter, Cindy White, had the opportunity to talk to Coraline about Moonlight. Shannyn was actually out promoting her new movie, One Missed Call. I'm glad she took time to chat about our show too. Still no news about Moonlight being officially renewed. :(

"I think there are too many procedural elements in the show," Shannyn Sossamon said in an interview while promoting her latest film, One Missed Call. "I don't think any of the audience members are sitting at home going, 'Gosh, I wonder what case Mick St. John's going to have this week? I'm so curious.' No, you care about the other stuff."

Sossamon revealed that the mystery of how her character became mortal will be explained before the season is over. "[I'd like to see them] kind of go back into different time periods more," Sossamon added. "Go back into the history. I love the drama of the vampire world. I love the aesthetic of it, and so [I'd like to there] to be more that than the procedural element of the show."

Sossamon said that she is still waiting for word on whether the show will even be brought back once the strike is over. "I'm playing it by the day," she said. "[CBS president] Nina Tasser hasn't given us any more information. ... CBS is the only network that hasn't said what they're going to do, with their green-lighting or whatever it's called, picking [it] up."

Moonlight will return with the first of the two remaining original episodes on Jan. 4, 2008, at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Video ~ Mick's second fight scene & unstaking Josef from Sleeping Beauty (#1x10)

We must have been really good cuz Christmas came today! CBS has released yet another Moonlight video today!!! I could get used to this :) "Moonlight - Please Remove the Stake" They have given us Mick's second fight scene with the hitman, poor Josef getting shot and staked, then Mick removing the stake for him. Jason's line reads are just perfect. I love how he simply says "thanks" after Mick unstakes him.

Speaking of.... don't you just adore the way Alex says "Josef." His voice is delicious
with or without his native Australian accent. Mmmmmmmm....

Time to start writing! We definitely need to thank CBS for this bounty.

Video ~ Mick's fight scene from Sleeping Beauty (#1x10)

CBS posted another Moonlight video a few minutes ago. Love the title ~ "Don't Make Mick Repeat Himself!" It is the first fight scene Mick has with Josef's would be assassin from the Sleeping Beauty episode (#1x10) last Friday.

CBS includes Moonlight in new promo video

CBS released a new promo video today called CBS Explosions. Its tag line is "If you thought 2007 was explosive... just wait till 2008!!" Moonlight is one of the shows they selected to use in it ~ along with CSI, Cane, Jericho, Without a Trace, NCIS, Cold Case, The Unit, Numb3rs, Criminal Minds, Shark, CSI Miami & NY. We like seeing 2008 and Moonlight mentioned together, huh? :) Since their theme is explosions, the scene they included is from the B.C. episode (#1x06) where Mick blows up Lola's Black Crystal Vampire Drug lab.

Contact and thank the companies that advertise on Moonlight

Another important way to support Moonlight is by contacting and thanking the companies that pay CBS big bucks to advertise during the show. The long list below is just a few that I managed to quickly write down during Sleeping Beauty. Let them know how much we appreciate them selecting our show for their ads, that you like their product, or you are now a new customer and so on. Of course, only write and call if you really do like, use &/or plan to use what they are selling.

Sophia & Shannyn at P.S. I Love You Movie Premiere

Sophia Myles and Shannyn Sossamon attended the movie premiere for the new Hilary Swank film, P.S. I Love You. The flick also stars Gerard Butler, Harry Connick Jr, Gina Gershon and Lisa Kudrow. These are great photos of our girls from the red carpet at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. You know the reporters and photographers can not resist these two beautiful women. A little more publicity for Moonlight! It is good to know that our cast like each other enough to hang out after spending 18 hours a day working together ~ Shannyn & Sophia at the movies, Alex & Jason in Australia for New Year's Eve. :) Do you want to spend that kinda time with the guy in the office next to you?!!?? ha!

Alex O'Loughlin speaks to Australian Newspaper Sydney Morning Hearld

We have all been hoping that our Aussie and our Brit would be able to return home for the holiday season. Alex & his delicious girlfriend, Holly Valance, did make the trip back to Australia. Jason Dohring & his lovely wife, Lauren, plan to travel there also to celebrate the New Year with Alex. Can you imagine how much fun it would be to ring in 2008 with them?!?! From what I'm hearing, Sophia is still here in the US.

I've gone to the future to get this for you. *grin* Sorry, couldn't resist since it's December 17th in Australia. Alex has been interviewed by Scott Ellis from one of his home newspapers ~ The Sydney Morning Hearld. Funny.... almost every article throws in a description of Alex puffing away on a cigar.

Great feature! We've seen and heard about Alex's playful side. In this, he reveals more of his philosophical, thoughtful outlook on life.

Alex O'Loughlin is sitting in his make-up trailer, alternating puffs on a cigar with a serious discussion about spiritual belief and human nature.

"I think really if there's nothing out there in the dark, then once we're dead we're just dead and all religion, all spiritual belief, is redundant," O'Loughlin said. "So there has to be something else, or what's the point? And if we accept that there has to be something ... then there can be anything."

"Mick St John essentially is a human who denies the monster within," O'Loughlin said. "He became a vampire against his will and then became a private investigator because he feels that each predator he gets rid of, each monster he kills or has put away gets him closer to the humanity within himself that he has lost."

"He's a very complex character to play because really he hates what he is and hates himself, and that's put him right on the edge."

Also pushing him to the edge is his relationship with Beth Turner (played by Sophia Myles), a reporter who discovers his secret.

As a child, Beth was saved by St John and was the first step on his search for redemption. Now grown up and igniting passions he's tried to deny, she is both the one woman he could love and the one woman he shouldn't.

"What saving [Beth] signifies to him was so enormous and now that she's come of age and he's starting to find himself attracted to her ... oh man ... he wants her to call him Dad and he wants her to call him Baby ... it's all messed up."

"But that allows for some really dramatic twists and changes in the character that you just wouldn't see anywhere else."

"A big thing that comes up for me with this show and with this world is redemption," he said.

"At what point can we no longer be redeemed? And Mick's hoping the answer is never."

Vampire on a mission ~

Reminder ~ Jason Dohring at "Say No to Drugs" race today!

A friendly reminder..... Jason Dohring will be making a public appearance today (Sunday, December 16th, 2007) at the "Say No to Drugs" race in Griffith Park ~ Los Angeles. The fun begins around 8:00 AM. I hope a lot of Moonlight fans will be there to support him and the cause. If you go, be sure to share your Josef stories. :)

Video Part 2 ~ Josef scenes from Sleeping Beauty (episode #1x10)

Part 2 ~ video of Josef's scenes from Sleeping Beauty ~ episode #1x10.

"The longer we were together the more I began to think that the whole reason I became a Vampire was so I could live long enough to meet her." Jason put such feeling into this scene in particular. Heartbreaking!

Of course, with our Josef, it is not all sad. There has to be humor too. And, bonus, we get to see Jason again without his shirt on :)

"You know, for a 400 year old Vampire you sure have a low threshold for pain." "Well giving is different than receiving." *wink*

Video Part 1 ~ Josef scenes from Sleeping Beauty (episode #1x10)

This is a video of the wonderful Josef scenes from the last episode of Moonlight ~ Sleeping Beauty (#1x10) thoughtfully provided by MarsBarz88. This is part 1.

We are so fortunate to have such a talented cast on our show. Of course, I have always praised their acting but they deserve it even more after this episode.... especially Jason and Alex. They handled their emotional scenes with ease.

Mick and Beth scenes from Sleeping Beauty (episode #1x10)

PurpleHippie has kindly put together a video of the amazing Mick and Beth scenes from last night's Moonlight ~ Sleeping Beauty #1x10! *cheer* Now, we can rewatch their pivotal moments again.

Moonlight's ratings for Friday, December 14th

The ratings for Moonlight have not been officially announced yet. BOO! Good news ~ we do know that Moonlight won its time slot!!! In fact, CBS did win the night in every time period.

According to Fast Nationals, Moonlight had a 4.9/9 share.

Speculation is that we had about 7.5 to 7.6 million viewers. I looked back through our previous ratings. The B.C. episode (#1x06) also had a 4.9/9 which translated to 7.55 million. Of course, I will let you know as soon as the final results are in for our show. :)

Another thing I noticed in old ratings info.... the episode before Sleeping Beauty was Fleur De Lis (#1x09). It had 4.7/8 share, 7.32 million. That means, we were UP from the last episode even with the holidays and the lousy 3 week break. YEA!!!

Sleeping Beauty (episode #1x10) is available on CBS site!

Hey..... CBS has already posted the Sleeping Beauty episode (#1x10) on their Moonlight web site. You can watch the full show online again right now!

Music from tonight's Moonlight episode ~ Sleeping Beauty #1x10.

Recap ~ Sleeping Beauty (episode #1x10) Thoughts

Welcome back, Moonlight! That was not an hour, was it? Where did the time go? As the credits popped up, I scrambled for the clock thinking "The hour could not be over already!" What a way to come back from a break! I can't even think straight ~ so much happened. Trevor Munson & Ron Koslow wrote this episode. Loved it! There were too many great quotes, funny moments, heart breaking moments........

SPOILER ALERT ~ If you haven't seen the show tonight, DO NOT READ this post!

Beth just go away! My friend just died. I don't really want to talk to you right now. No... actually, you stay and get your story. You do your job... I'll do mine.

Mick was angry in this episode. He went off on Beth and Josef. My goodness! Emotions are obviously swirling in him. He has been holding everything inside for such a long time and denying himself. Now ~ Beth pursuing him, Coraline is back, there may be a "cure" for Vampirism, Beth stakes Coraline before he can find out what she used to become human, she is on her death bed, Josef is "killed" ~ WHEW! Take a deep breath! No wonder Mick is confused (and a bit testy).

He did let Beth off the hook... telling her that she couldn't have known that Coraline was not a Vampire when she staked her. That he didn't even know. Beth states that he still cares for Coraline... his reply? "She was my wife."

Previously I mentioned noticing that Mick said Coraline had been a vamp for 500 years in the Sleeping Beauty promo video ~ which did not fit with him telling Beth that Coraline was turned in the early 1700's. We thought it would be cleared up in the actual episode, and it was.... Mick simply said that Coraline has been a Vampire for years without giving an exact number.

Coraline told the hospital staff that her wound was caused by an accident instead of ratting on Beth.

We learned that Coraline introduced Mick and Josef. Mick thought Josef was "a pompous jerk" and Josef thought Mick "was not cut out to be a Vampire."

The conversation between Coraline and Mick was very interesting! "I came back for you." Mick kept asking about the cure. "It always comes back to this." She can not understand why he wants to be mortal and face death. Then, the big question is asked ~ "It's about Beth, isn't it?" Mick says it isn't about her...... but we know it is!

Mick takes some of Coraline's blood. Very smart!

Mo telling Beth "tracking says women 18 to 34 find you a little harsh" made me chuckle out loud.

The attack on Josef's office was shocking. No more Tim & Dan. Poker night and Mick was supposed to be there.

I spent a lot of this episode wanting to comfort our boys. When Mick thinks that Josef is dead becoming teary eyed, I was glad that he allowed Beth to hold and comfort him. "I've outlived so many of my human friends, you'd think that I'd be used to losing people by now." "He survived 400 years. 400 years. He saw so much... so much history." "He was history and now he's gone."That loss to me is so enormous that I'm not even sure that I know how to mourn him."

Was I the only one who thought "let me help you with that" when Mick said he needed a drink??!??!! :>

Of course, I knew that our Josef was not dead and that he would be sitting in Mick's apartment. "You just gonna stand there all day, or you gonna help me find out who killed me?" That made me laugh out loud.

Another laugh out loud scene was when Mick is staring at Sam the super hacker, who happens to be a girl. She sassily says people expect her to be "overweight, living in my parent's basement, wearing a t-shirt with Yoda on it." Awesome!

When Mick told Josef to stay in his apartment, I knew he wouldn't be able to be a good boy. *grin* Another angry Mick moment upon returning home to find Josef entertaining some willing freshies. "Daddy's a little grumpy." Mick pointed out that Josef could at least care about not getting him killed. Tellingly Josef says he gets lonely. Mick understands that all too well.

I want a safe full of cash! We knew there was something else, something more personal that Josef needed that was in that safe. Mick to the rescue! "You already died once this week, isn't that enough?"

Fantastic fight scene!!! That military trained assassin made a good antagonist for our Mick. I enjoyed the way Mick handled and beat him in LA and New York. Vamped out Mr St John ~ so yummy!

The New York trip.... Beth teasing Mick that she is going to "stop you from doing something stupid."

Beth completely forgot about boring... I mean.... movie night with Josh. Did you see the thoroughly happy look on her face as she opened that door expecting to see Mick. I do feel for Josh. He sees the woman he loves slipping away. Mick is just too much for a normal guy to compete with even with out the sexy vamp thing. I like the fact that Josh had the guts to just come out and say "this isn't working," "look me in the face right now & tell me you don't have feelings for him." Beth's non-answer and then.... Mick knocks on the door right at that moment.

I would have liked to see exactly what happened & what was talked about between them on that long trip.

The look Beth gives to Mick after he easily leaps up to pull down the fire escape ladder for them was priceless! I found it quite impressive, manly and arousing too. :)

When Beth was reading Sarah's diary to Mick, we all know that allowed her to say words that she has been longing to tell him!!! "It doesn't matter to me what he is, I love him. I want to be with him even though he tells me it's impossible. I know our love can overcome any obstacle. I want him to turn me into what he is. He says it's dangerous, but I don't care. I'm not afraid. It's the only way we can be together forever. I'm ready." Excellent writing!

Since it is difficult to explain the whole no aging thing, it makes sense that Vampyres can not have to be nomadic. It is a great moment when Beth lets Mick know she realizes why he stayed in Los Angeles all these years despite the danger. "Vamps tend to move around. We can't stay in one spot too long." "You have... you stayed in LA." "I like the weather." "Really?"

Now we know why Josef always has that air of sadness.

What a heart-rending story. He loved Sarah and lost her. It broke my heart to see that he has cared for her all these years just hoping for a miracle to return her to him! In the flashback, Josef appeared very happy. We've never seen him like that. I hope he finds comfort in Sarah's diary. I'm glad Beth thought to offer it. He will read of her love for him.

Mick threw himself on top of Beth to protect her from the killer's bullets. I was cheering as he vamped out and dispatched him with one hand!

Josef should take off his shirt more often! *wink*

I laughed out loud again while watching Mick assist Josef by removing the bullets from his back. Ribbing him for not being able to deal with the pain after living for 400 years. "Giving is different than receiving." ha!

Mick says of seeing Josef in love "this proves that anything is possible." Then, Josef gives him a pep talk about making it work with Beth. What a turn around! This experience also made Mick realize what is important. He was so boyish and happy when asking Beth to go with him to do something fun and experience New York.... "a steak for the lady. Just you and me on the town." SHE TURNS HIM DOWN! That upset me so much. He is reaching out and taking a chance. In response, Beth decides to return home because she did not leave things well with Josh. *sigh*

The situation with Sarah obviously frightened Beth. Did you notice that the first thing she brought up to Mick as they were leaving was if he thinks there really is a cure??? Knowing Josef and Sarah's story made her think twice about being turned, instead she wants Mick to become human like her.

Mick appreciates her situation and why she is hesitant. In the face of Beth's rejection of his overture, Mick still placed his hand on the taxi window. She couldn't resist returning the gesture ~ which Mick initiated this time! He had such longing on his face. I would have jumped out of that cab so fast to free him of that look.

The "cure" is only temporary. Her nurse certainly is lucky to have not ended up as a snack. *grin* Coraline's first word upon returning to her vamp self is "MICK!"

TV Guide features Alex O'Loughlin online!

I know I have said it before, but...... I adore TV Guide! They have yet another feature with Alex O'Loughlin. Looks like they are as charmed by him as we are :)

TVGuide.com :

O'Loughlin loves the rush he gets from doing his own stunts. "I really feel like I'm participating in life when I'm strapped into a harness and hanging precariously above the ground," says the 31-year-old Australian actor (
whose last name is pronounced "O-lock-lin"). As Moonlight's crime-fighting vampire/private detective Mick St. John, he gets plenty of chances to revel in those daredevil moments. His character often leaps from rooftops and catwalks in pursuit of both mortal and immortal lawbreakers.

On a fall afternoon on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, however, the actor finds himself earthbound, shooting an indoor scene where Mick is pondering the ongoing plot about whether or not the evil ex he killed is still alive. Between takes, he ducks out to an alley to puff a Cuban cigar. Costumed in trademark Mick garb — black jeans, boots, dark shirt — he apologizes repeatedly for the smoke, his gentlemanly concern something you'd expect from Mr. St. John.

But while Mick is smoldering and reserved, O'Loughlin is playful. "He's a bundle of energy," says costar Sophia Myles, who plays reporter Beth Turner, the woman Mick loves but can't have. "And he's funny — he makes me laugh all night long. With our schedule, 16 hours a day, six days a week, I couldn't have hoped for anyone more wonderful to work with."

The intense routine means that the actor doesn't get to see his girlfriend, Australian actress/singer Holly Valance, as much as he'd like, although she recently guest-starred as Lola, the gorgeous vamp Mick fought to the death. The two met while he was doing construction work for a mutual friend and have been dating for a year and a half. How's she handling his burgeoning status as a heartthrob? "She's a sex symbol," O'Loughlin says of her status Down Under, "so probably the same way that I do, which is just deal with it. To me, it's weird."

"What's great about Alex is he can turn on the sex for the job, but he never abuses his good looks," Myles says. "He knows his place in the universe." Right now that's a pretty sweet spot. Besides Moonlight, he's appearing in two films: In August Rush, he's a passionate musician, and in next year's Whiteout (with Kate Beckinsale), he's a rough-and-tumble pilot. "He's one of the baddies," O'Loughlin says. "But I mean, who is bad? You know?"

As usual, the lovely Sophia Myles only has great things to say about her co-star. Read it all at ~

It is finally Moonlight Friday again!!!

Moonlight returns tonight! *CHEER* We made it through the long, drawn out three week break together. Thanks for helping me endure it :) Sleeping Beauty is our reward!

Alex O'Loughlin's Fun Mitsubishi Commercial

Warning.... this commercial will make you want to run out and buy a Mitsubishi. ha! As usual, Alex looks so happy and funny. It must be wonderful to be around someone with his outgoing personality.

Moonlight's ratings from last night's Australian television debut

Moonlight premiered last night in Australia on Channel Nine. Its ratings ~ 696,000 viewers. The network paired it with ER (weird match) which rated 658,000 watchers. Since Moonlight grabbed more viewers than its lead-in, people must have switched channels just to watch it! Let's hope that is a good sign.

Another CBS show, Cane, was also on Australian television last night (Channel Ten) ~ 586,000 tuned in. NBC's 30 Rock (Network 7) only had 353,000 viewers. The top program was Vicar of Dibley (ABC) with 1,377,000.

I wanna urge all of our Aussie friends to watch Moonlight every week, and spread the word! :) It airs Wednesday nights at 9:30 on Channel Nine.

The TV Addict Interviews Jason Dohring!

Amrie Cunningham has done an amazing interview with Jason Dohring on The TV Addict site! Moonlight's cast is the most open and candid I have ever seen. They just tell you how it is. Amrie asks Jason some wonderful questions about Josef, Moonlight, Mick and the future.

TVAddict.com :
How is the experience on Moonlight different from your experience on Veronica Mars?

Jason:
Yeah, there’s a couple things I guess. The characters are obviously a bit different. You know, I think, they both have really interesting stories. Josef was kind of the expansion of a character, it’s like the 400 years aspect, as we’ll find more about as the story unfolds. There’s so much history. As an actor, each new script that comes out, you kind of add to that. You don’t know beforehand, when you first started, what your history is, but you sort of learn as you do it. You’re sort of picking that up and putting that in your character as you go. So I think it adds more to the storyline like that. And I think, just being on CBS is quite a bit different. It’s a bigger cast. You’re at Warner Bros which is quite close to my house so I don’t have to trek down to San Diego, which is kind of nicer. Just those two aspects more than anything else.

TVAddict.com :
Do you know if the show will be delving more into his past, more of his past loves and how he managed to become so successful?

Jason :
Absolutely. I think the successful thing [came] more in the first episode, with the hedge fund trader, and the real estate. In the episode this Friday, you find out basically why he’s always concerned about Mick dating humans and being with humans, like what is that? There’s basically a personal reason that Josef’s gone through. I don’t know if it’s proper or whatever, but I always kind of take the idea that maybe Josef has gone through what Mick’s going through. Maybe one time he was a good person, and you’ll sort of see glimpses of that, you know, with my former hairstyle, and my really nice suit in New York in this week’s episode.

TVAddict.com :
Is Josef going to get a love interest?

Jason :
That’s fantastic man. You’re going to find out. You’ll see some really cool stuff in this next episode. I don’t know if that’s too much of a spoiler or whatever, but you’ll definitely see some love interest. You’ll see. I don’t know how to explain it or whatever. I think he would. Like Logan, he’s probably a tough guy to live with. There was an episode with Lola or whatever. They had the on again off again thing. I would really like to see someone that could match him, they fight, they get back together. I think it would be quite a passionate relationship.

TVAddict.com :
How many episodes are left with the strike, what are we going to see, what does the future hold?

Jason :
Les Moonves said a few days ago, some kind stuff about our show and The Big Bang Theory, about us coming back for a second season. I can’t speak for the producers, but that was given in a press interview, which is obviously a good sign. There’s a lot of plus points. Our show is one of two shows that have been up-trending in viewership. So obviously that’s a good sign. We’re right around 8 million, which is pretty high. Having CBS as backup, promo-ing the show, you’re sitting there watching golf and see a promo, which helps out a lot. We just finished shooting number 12 about 3 or 4 days ago. It was very good. There’s a vampire that comes that makes me look like a popper which is cool. It goes back in history. We have some great history, makeup and sets, and like an “old world, from a different time” feel to the show and the storyline comes out. I think it’ll be really cool to see how it all turns out. Great makeup and George Washington hair and all that cool stuff. [Air date] is sometime in January. 11 and 12 will both air in January [January 4th and 11th].

TVAddict.com :
Going past episode 12, do you know anything about what your character is expected to see?

Jason :
It’s pretty much in the formulistic stages, with regard to that. Obviously, there’s no scripts written. There’s some possible stuff. The one thing that I heard is basically a betrayal of Josef against Mick. Something Josef’s been telling him all along is not true, and it’s very important to Mick. That’ll lead to some very cool stuff. There’s some great stuff coming up. I’m so excited for you to see it. Particularly, in episode 11, I think you’re going to fall in love with this one character, she’s just unreal, this girl.

TVAddict.com :
The next question kind of goes along with that – some of the readers of our site were interested in seeing Josef and Mick as possible enemies – is that something you’d want to play?

Jason :
Oh absolutely, I’m always kind of in favor of changing things around. You can always come around. I think that would be great. He can stand up to the best of them, so I’d like to see him maybe tear me a new one ha.

TVAddict.com :
A lot of the scenes that people have really responded to have been ones where there is real male camaraderie going on. Is there going to be more of that male bonding coming up? Or is that going to be fractured?

Jason :
I hope it never gets to that. I think it’s a part of who these guys are. A big part of why Josef is in the storyline at all is because he’s somewhat of a mentor, a safe person that Mick can ask about certain experiences he’s going through and how they relate to Josef’s knowledge of the situation. They’re the scenes that I enjoy the most. A lot of that banter back and forth. Hopefully, we’ll get a lot more.

TVAddict.com :
There’s a lot of action on Moonlight and I was wondering if you expect to see Josef get in on the action?

Jason :
All they had was me slipping on the rooftop so far, which is the extent of my action, I don’t know if you saw that one, where I like jump up on the roof or whatever. I expect that there would be some more. I would love to se him get in a fight. I’d be curious to see how they write it. I think perhaps, he [frakking], oops, sorry about that [Editor’s Note: it made him seem so normal, down to earth, and comfortable with himself to just let the F-word slip out…], just vamps out. He goes nuts. He just totally loses his mind. I think that would be so cool.

SPOILER ~ Sneak Peek Video of Sleeping Beauty Scene ~ Episode #1x10

SPOILER ALERT!

This is a sneak peek preview video of a new scene from the next episode ~ Sleeping Beauty (#1x10). We have been talking about this story for weeks. Of course, seeing it is even more amazing.... and heart touching. Jason Dohring is just so good as Josef Konstantin. A lesser actor would not be able to pull this off. He made me want to comfort him so much during this scene. Do not watch this promo video if you do not want to see a pivotal moment from Friday's Moonlight!

SPOILER ~ Fight Scene Promo Photos (set #3) ~ Sleeping Beauty Episode #1x10

SPOILER ALERT!!!

Mick in action! More promo photos for you. :) Looks like we are gonna get a great fight scene in Sleeping Beauty (episode #1x10) this Friday. It feels so good to say those words ~ THIS FRIDAY!

Please, rally everyone to watch the show. I have been surprised to see messages on several forums, boards and groups from people who do not realize Moonlight will be back this week (December 14th). The long break and holiday frenzy has thrown off the schedule. Get the word out! I do not need to tell you how important these ratings are to our show.

CBS releases a new MickBeth fan video ~ Immortal Observations with Mick St John

CBS created and released a new fan video tonight! YEA! They titled it ~ Immortal Observations by Mick St John. It always makes me happy to see them showing an interest in Moonlight.... and realizing the fans want more. In the description they even wrote, " Mick St. John makes being immortal look damn good. That's right, Mickbeth fans, the EyeLab brings you yet *another* steamy MickBeth video. Because, like you, we just can't get enough. " Keep letting them know how we feel about our show! Join me in thanking EyeLab & CBS for their attention.

You can send CBS a message on their YouTube page, if you are a user ~

http://www.youtube.com/user/CBS

Send feedback on the CBS Website ~

http://www.cbs.com/info/user_services/fb_global_form.shtml

Since I am on a roll with noticing the age thing...... In this video, Mick says he is 89. However, he told Beth that he would be 85 on his "birthday" last month. The show will probably explain later. As I have said, little inconsistencies happen on all shows. Plus, Moonlight went through a lot of changes to say the least. None of that keeps me from loving our show! :)

Off Topic ~ Photos of our ice storm ~ Brrrrrr!

Several of you have thoughtfully emailed to make sure we are safe and not sitting in the dark. You are so good to me! It means a lot for you to even remember me briefly mentioning living in Oklahoma City, let alone to be worried. Thank you!

As requested, I am posting two of the photos I took yesterday. We are not normally subjected to this kinda weather in OKC. The first day, we woke to a silent dusting of white on our lawn. Then, thunder and rain. Next ~ dazzling icicles are glinting in every tree and off every roof. Very pretty but equally dangerous. Our lovely old trees have been hard hit. Every few minutes we hear a mighty crack, often followed by the crash of several huge limbs hitting the ground, our fence, porch, etc. One tree looks like a total loss. Tall and strong for years, now split into many sections. We will just have to assess the damage once this is all over.

We have been fortunate thus far to not be among those who lost power, or tragically those who lost their life.

Right at this moment, I can hear the rain pelting against our home. It has been doing so all day. Good news ~ they are forecasting that the situation will steadily improve over the next few days as the temperature rises.

Super Fan, Lisa Gerry, Interviews Alex O'Loughlin

Lisa Gerry, from Moonlightline, was able to do a great interview with Alex O'Loughlin at his recent appearance at Pole Position's Toys for Tots event. She has published it for us on Monsters & Critics lovely website.

Alex was so accomodating to all his fans! He has such a crazy work schedule. You know he must have been exhausted, but he was still so sweet and available. In the interview, they discuss the hard work as well as moving to LA, auditioning, being compared to other Vampire shows, etc. Can you imagine the executives who are now kicking themselves for not hiring Alex when they had the chance?! ha!

One of Alex's quotes that I especially like is ~ If they get this strike out of the way, sooner, rather than later, we're a shoe-in. I'm not running the network. I know that they love us, I know that they know how important the show is to the people.” You can see why *smile*

Read Leeser's awesome interview here......

Thanks, again, to the amazing Moonlight fans who donated $1000 worth of playthings! YEA!!! And, to those who continue to donate toys, time & $$$. What a cool bunch :)

SPOILER ~ CBS has released a video preview for Sleeping Beauty (#1x10)

SPOILER ALERT!

CBS has finally released a sneak peek video promo for the next episode ~ Sleeping Beauty (#1x10)! We have waited soooo long and thirsted for something new. Tell me what you think after you watch this preview.

Update....... Hey guys ~ Am I hearing things, or does Mick say that Coraline has been a vampire for 500 years?!??? That would make her older than Josef. In the Fleur De Lis episode, Mick tells Beth that Coraline was turned in the early 1700's ~ which would mean she is around 300 years old. Listen close the next time you view the promo and let me know if you hear the same thing I do. Did Mick find out Coraline is older than he was originally told?

Fan Video ~ Josef and Beth?

We have all seen the looks that Josef ( Jason Dohring ) has given to Beth ( Sophia Myles ) and wondered what is going through that mind of his. Is he thinking "Dinner!" or something else? There has been much speculation about a relationship between these two ~ with some wanting them to really get together and others only to make Mick jealous. AnnaMaureen created this "what if" fan video for us.

SPOILER ~ Promo photos (set #2) from Sleeping Beauty ~ episode #1x10

SPOILER ALERT!!!

This is promo photo set #2 from the next, long awaited episode of Moonlight ~ Sleeping Beauty (#1x10). It will be on this Friday, December 14th, 2007. Finally! We have almost made it through this annoying three week break.

Josef looks so sad :(

More spoiler information....... A dying man, who has a long held vendetta against our Josef, is the one who places a hit on him. The man's anger toward Josef has something to do with his daughter. While Mick is investigating and hunting for the assassin, he discovers the dark secret his best friend has hidden from him for 40 years. This secret is the reason why Josef has always insisted that Mick & Beth can never be in a romantic relationship. Hmmmmmm.......... Sounds like Josef had a human lover and it did not end happily!

CBS adds "Interview with a Vampire" to Moonlight's official site

We like to see that CBS is continuing to maintain and update Moonlight's official website. They have added a clip from Mick's "Interview with a Vampire" video. The 30 second spot includes him talking about being nocturnal, golfing, "daylight's not good" and "boxers or briefs." I don't mind seeing it again. *wink* Beth is not the voice of the interviewer in this version.

Here is a link to the network's Moonlight page. Keep in mind, they track the number of visitors each show's site receives daily! Visit as often as you can because it looks good for our show. Also, you can send positive Moonlight feedback to CBS while you are there. :)

Matt Roush's "shout out" to Moonlight fanatics!

Hey guys! A TV Guide reader wrote to Matt Roush to ask a Blood Ties question. I had to share his answer with you, because he gives a fun "shout out" to the voracious fans of Moonlight ~ which I highlighted in white. :)

PS..... I do not wish for any television show to be cancelled, especially not one that is Vampyre related. :> Hopefully, the Blood Ties fans feel the same way about us.

Kim S. :

OK, I know you hate Blood Ties, but cut me some slack. It is my guilty pleasure, plus it is the best vampire show on right now. I noticed that the last two episodes of this season are only going to be shown on the Internet. Does this mean the show has been canceled or is it just fallout from the strike?

Matt Roush :

Kim, you naughty thing, riling all of those Moonlight fans by calling this anemic pretender the "best vampire show" of the moment. Here's the situation, as explained by Lifetime: Blood Ties' companion shows, Lisa Williams: Life Among the Dead and America's Psychic Challenge (seriously, I'm not making up these titles), reached their season finales before Blood Ties did, so the network decided to air the remaining episodes online because the "Psy-Fridays" franchise was no longer intact. Which may not make much sense to fans but can be read as a lack of support for this show by the network. I'm told Blood Ties' fate hasn't been yet determined, but I wouldn't be too optimistic. Still, anything's possible, given that this show is an acquisition from Canada and not an original Lifetime production, so the decision will probably be more economic than creative.

When Vivian Met Alex O'Loughlin :)

Vivian, an awesome & loyal Moonlightfan blog reader, got to met the luscious Alex O'Loughlin at the recent Pole Position Toys for Tots event. She took the time to send me her photographs and enthusiastically written story. Graciously, she is allowing me to share with all of you too. :) By the way, click on the pictures above to get a bigger version of the images.

Photo #1 to #4 ~ I bet you recognize our Mick St John *wink*

Photo #5 ~ One of Vivian's lovely sisters with Alex O'Loughlin

Photo #6 ~ The sweet Vivian with Alex O'Loughlin ~ She doesn't look happy at all, does she? ha!

Her story......

First off though I just wanted to let you know the event turned out well. The minute Alex walked in the door we all converged on him. He didn’t stand a chance. LOL. He was so accommodating and accessible the whole day. He never said no to anyone asking for a picture or autograph. Unfortunately, he didn’t have a sit down autograph session like the others who attended but needless to say I was able to get him to sign one for me.

I didn’t really take as many photos as some others probably did. I did however get some video footage. I took the video for my sister who was ill and couldn’t make the event. She soooooo wanted to be there. Alex was a sweetheart and when I asked if he could send a special “get well” greeting for her, he didn’t hesitate. Needless to say, she was thrilled when I showed it to her, but it really wasn’t like being there.

This was the perfect setup for the chance to meet Alex. Not a huge crowd and like I said he was really accessible. He was probably overwhelmed of how many people were there and we were all there to see him. He had no security around him at all. It was perfect. Being in a larger situation, say like a “convention” it would probably be almost impossible to have a one-on-one with him like we had that day. It was just perfect !!!! Can’t believe I was able to be that close to him. He was just a sweetheart. Bet he was exhausted by the end of the day. He was actually there from about 9:10 a.m. to 2 pm.

Don't forget ~ there is still plenty of time to donate to the wonderful Toys for Tots organization!

Writer's Strike Update ~ The AMPTP has broken off negotiations with WGA

Not good news about the progress of talks to end the Writer's Strike......

LOS ANGELES - WGA Negotiating Committee Chair John F. Bowman, on behalf of the Writers Guild of America, West (WGAW) and the Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE), has issued the following message regarding Contract 2007 negotiations:

Today, after three days of discussions, the AMPTP came back to us with a proposal that included a total rejection of our proposal on Internet streaming of December 3.

They are holding to their offer of a $250 fixed residual for unlimited one year streaming after a six-week window of free use. They still insist on the DVD rate for Internet downloads.

They refuse to cover original material made for new media.

This offer was accompanied by an ultimatum: the AMPTP demands we give up several of our proposals, including Fair Market Value (our protection against vertical integration and self-dealing), animation, reality, and, most crucially, any proposal that uses distributor’s gross as a basis for residuals. This would require us to concede most of our Internet proposal as a precondition for continued bargaining. The AMPTP insists we let them do to the Internet what they did to home video.

We received a similar ultimatum through back channels prior to the discussions of November 4. At that time, we were assured that if we took DVD’s off the table, we would get a fair offer on new media issues. That offer never materialized.

We reject the idea of an ultimatum. Although a number of items we have on the table are negotiable, we cannot be forced to bargain with ourselves. The AMPTP has many proposals on the table that are unacceptable to writers, but we have never delivered ultimatums.

As we prepared our counter-offer, at 6:05 p.m., Nick Counter came and said to us, in the mediator’s presence: “We are leaving. When you write us a letter saying you will take all these items off the table, we will reschedule negotiations with you.” Within minutes, the AMPTP had posted a lengthy statement announcing the breakdown of negotiations.

We remain ready and willing to negotiate, no matter how intransigent our bargaining partners are, because the stakes are simply too high. We were prepared to counter their proposal tonight, and when any of them are ready to return to the table, we’re here, ready to make a fair deal.

CBS releases another Moonlight video ~ from Fleur De Lis (episode #1x09)

CBS has released another Moonlight video! I like to see that they are aware enough of our thirst for more that they did so. This video is of the action packed sequence when Mick saves his client, Mr Haggans, from his would be killers and also Morgan/Coraline in Fleur De Lis (episode #1x09). Busy boy! It includes several of my fave moments..... Mick lifting the assistant off his feet with one hand, "you take the elevator" jumping down several flights of stairs, knocking out the creepy son with one punch, leaping high in the air while saving Morgan "and they say Jordan had air," too much fun!

Alex O'Loughlin as Mick St John ~ Photo Wallpaper from Sleeping Beauty (episode #1x10)

Another Moonlight-less Friday. :( We can at least decorate our computer backgrounds with happy images to keep us going. ha! This great photo wallpaper of Mick is from the upcoming, much anticipated Sleeping Beauty episode (#1x10). Is it December 14th yet?! On the bright side, we have made it through the first long two weeks together. One more week to go............

Interviews with Moonlight's Set Decorator & Production Designer

Mick's loft is my dream apartment. You already know how I drool over his bookshelves. :) I think the production crew of Moonlight does an incredible job, especially with the budget constraints. April, from Monsters and Critics, has two informative interviews for us! One with our set decorator Chris Marsteller, and the other with our production designer Alfred Sole. She asked them questions submitted by the fans. They discuss many topics such as that amazing artwork on Josef's ceiling, shopping for Mick's pad, job duties, etc.

The top photo is an interior shot of Mick's apartment. The second image is of Beth's desk at Buzzwire.

M & C :

I love the bookcase and want to buy or make one for my new library. Any suggestions?

Chris :

Of course, Mick's bookcase is custom built. It was designed by our production designer Alfred Sole and is (as most of Mick's place) a defining part of the set.

M & C :

Who did the artwork in Josef's [Jason Dohring's] office / condo on his ceilings and walls?

Chris :

The artist is Alex Gross. We came across an art book of his and really felt it had the right flavor for Joseph. We wanted to make a large statement in Joseph's office and also hint at his age as a vampire. With the show being set in LA and wanting to keep a very contemporary edge to it, the challenge came in defining the characters. With Joseph, it came down to grand scale. And what could be grander than a painted ceiling a la the Vatican.

M & C :

Where do you find the decor for Alex's home, and how do you decide what items "go" or "fit" with each character?

Chris :

When I started prepping the show there were many discussions as to how our vampire's live. We wanted to keep the show very contemporary and and imply that vampires do live among us and on the surface you might not recognize anything out of the ordinary at first glance. With Mick's loft I chose some pieces from Cisco Home, Design Within Reach, Diva, Sonrisa, and other small shops around LA. The idea was to keep Mick's very clean and simple. He has been living long enough that he has his life style down to a sort of routine and it is unnecessary to have a lot of excess. And though he does most of his business at night, and simple lines often times feel colder, we tried to keep it warm with our color pallette.

M & C :

What is your favorite set on "Moonlight" and describe why?

Alfred :

Mick’s Loft is really the centerpiece of our permanent sets and is definitely my favorite. The idea of the show was to put a modern spin on the vampire genre, so I wanted the sets to reflect that. In addition, Mick was born in 1922 so he has had time to acquire plenty of worldly knowledge, including an appreciation of art and design. Therefore, his living space had to reflect a lifetime of experience as well as a contemporary aesthetic that fit the look of the show. Other fun aspects of the set are the kitchen, complete with a hidden blood storage compartment, and the freezer room where Mick sleeps in a stainless steel, glass top freezer.

Alex O'Loughlin in TV Guide's Hottest New Faces Video ~ again!

I am liking TV Guide more and more! :> Time to thank them again. Back in early November, I told you that they had included Alex O'Loughlin & Sophia Myles on their TV's Hottest New Faces list. They have repackaged and re-released the footage of Alex in a Hottest New Faces Part 2 video. It also has Michelle Ryan (Bionic Woman), Damian Lewis & Sarah Shahi (Life), Bret Harrison & Missy Peregyrm (Reaper). Sophia is not among those featured this time out. :( Even though we have seen it before ~ remember him being modest about the hunk label and talking about having bed head ~ we don't mind watching it again, huh? *wink* After all, it is almost Friday and we need a Mick Fix!

Rumor has it the final two completed Moonlight episodes will air as follows.....

Love Lasts Forever ~ episode #1x11 ~ January 4th, 2008

Alex O'Loughlin Interview in the Australian Hearld Sun Newspaper

As I mentioned previously, Moonlight is premiering on Australian TV ~ Wednesday, December 12th at 9:30 PM on Channel 9. In advance of that debut, Darren Devlyn, of the Herald Sun Newspaper, did an excellent interview piece with Alex O'Loughlin. One little quibble... the reporter refers to "his character's intricately designed, painted-on tattoos." Alex has 6 tattoos that are very real, which are covered up for the show except for an accidental peek.

Here is an excerpt from the interview.....

Alex O'Loughlin, 32, who rose to prominence in Australia in the mini-series The Incredible Journey of Mary Bryant and the movie The Oyster Farmer, is in his trailer, recovering from the rigours of a previous day's work that kept him on set until 2am. Later, puffing on a cigar in a break from filming, O'Loughlin says he's taking none of this sudden international success for granted.

Waving away a billowing plume of cigar smoke, he explains how Moonlight just may be the show that rescues him from extended bouts of unemployment and the ever-present prospect of debt.

"I've been living here coming up to three years," O'Loughlin says of Los Angeles. "The government here is f----d up and it's hard to find good food that's not full of sugar, but the people here are great and I'm grateful this country has opened its arms to me and let me work here."

O'Loughlin, as Moonlight's leading man, vampire Mick St John, spends up to 16 hours a day on set. When he's done with work for the day, he heads home for a quick dinner, then starts memorising dialogue for the following day's shoot. Weekends, he says, are for sleeping.

"Time is the thing. A show like this pulls all your time away from you. Usually I'll get home from work on a Saturday about 10am (after doing night shooting) and I'll sleep until Saturday afternoon. Saturday night and Sunday I'm usually feeling wiped out and I've not seen Holly all week. It's a pretty full-on life, but what do you do? I love my work and there are sacrifices."

"The first year I was here I was auditioning all the time and got no work," O'Loughlin says.

"I had no money and a piece of s--- car and in the end I had to hock things like my stereo to get by. I was just doing anything to scrape by, working on a building site for $15 an hour.

"There were times I was thinking, 'What am I doing, this is crazy'. I was scared because I had no money and no ticket home.

"That is the time when everyone else packs up and leaves. But I remembered everything my grandfather taught me about the work ethic before he died. He was brought up out in the bush and his advice was 'put your head down and keep working, son, and you'll get what's coming to you'. You just push through.

"This is the first time I've been paid (in the US) and, mate, it's nice not having to worry about making the rent.

"I did a Warner Bros film and it actually cost me 10 grand to do it. You might scratch your head and say how can that be, but trust me.

"You go from doing independent films where you're getting paid very little or it's costing you to do work to get your career going. Then, overnight, you start getting paid if you keep pushing through. You accumulate 10 to 20 years of debt and if you stick at this and are lucky, you can start paying it off.

"I've got to tell you, man, it's (success) not always about having great talent. Great talent does not always equate to success.

"I do not think I'm a great talent. I think I'm a medium talent, but I think I understand the business and enjoy the business. It's a right-place-at-the-right-time kind of business, but it's also about perseverance."

iF Magazine Interviews Shannyn Sossamon ~ Part 2

Sean, from iF Magazine, has published part 2 of his great interview with Shannyn Sossamon. I like how candid she is too. It must run in this cast.

Spoiler Alert.... she discusses feature episodes and what happens with Coraline. Just wanted to warn ya.

iF Magazine :

Has anyone discussed post writers strike where the storylines may be going?

SOSSAMON :

No, I actually don’t think anyone has had that discussion yet. We’re about to shoot twelve right now. Twelve is amazing and it brings the audience back in time to the history of my family and then gets into a little of where Josef is from. We’re going to shoot that and then no one dies and it’s pretty open ended. Beyond that, there were four more episodes purchased, and those aren’t written yet. So once we finish twelve, we’re done because of the strike. Then when we come back and we have the four, and then we wait to get really picked up!

iF Magazine :

Well, MOONLIGHT has a strong fan base and the ratings have been good so I have a feeling that your show will be back. .

SOSSAMON :

Aww good! I love Alex [O’Loughlin] and Sophia [Myles] so much and I love everyone on the show including [Producer] Joel [Silver] is just a neat man and I adore him. It feels like a family on set. The make-up and hair people, the creative teams behind the show, the cinematographer Marvin; everyone has really held this show up. They’ve believed in it every day and they won’t let it go. No matter what kind of drama is going on, and all of the times that some shows would’ve stopped trying; no one on MOONLIGHT has stopped trying, especially Alex he’s just great.

iF Magazine :

In terms of Coraline from vampire to human are we going to get the full back story of how she did that?

SOSSAMON :

Oh yeah, you’ll get the whole thing in twelve and it makes sense. Not only does it make sense, but also they came up with a really great way to explain it. It’s not fun when you’re playing the role when you don’t know how the heck she did it, and now that I do it’s cool; at the time I didn’t know how my character had changed.

iF Magazine :

You obviously can't approach Coraline and play her just as evil, so what’s the trick to finding the reality of this character?

SOSSAMON :

In this episode I get to be a vampire so I didn’t have to be Morgan, I got to be Coraline. In episode ten I got stabbed and was in the hospital and I escaped and no one knew where she was. Now, I just get to play Coraline for twelve and I’m excited about that because I want to get to know her and have the audiences get to know her. It’s not me having to act out the crazy love, or the crazy love elements; it’s just absolutely real. I think a lot of her history is going to come out. When she’s not playing to Mick and she’s put that to rest for a moment, I think she’s got more depth and is much more intense and fierce. We’ve really never seen her when she’s not playing to Mick and to their deranged love. Who was he before she met him, was she always doing this with men? I think Corlaine was always in love with Mick, in a way that is not healthy, and that’s a deep connection that will always be there. Now she’s going to have to learn how to handle things not working out. Whenever he stands next to her, I think it’s for her not to have him going along with her plans. He tests her.

iF Magazine :

What would you think if in the future they did episodes just featuring the different vampires for an episode instead of Mick?

SOSSAMON :

I think if they took some more risks with the characters that people would love it, but there is always a procedural element of something that has to be figured out in every episode. I think Mick will always be a part of the stories even if it is more Josef heavy or Coraline heavy or Beth heavy. So far, they’ve stuck to that, but I think it would be a great idea. I bet Alex would like it too, so he could at least have a little bit of a break. They could really make it interesting and make it more dramatic. I certainly think the audience of this show isn’t watching each week to see what the procedural for the week is going to be. I think they watch it for the drama. They love Mick and Beth and the tension between them, and I think they’re responding well to Coraline. Even if people hate her, people need to be rooting for something to happen. I think even if they are reacting against Mick and Coraline, then I’m doing my job and they should root against it.

CBS to renew Moonlight?!?

In his MediaWeek column, John Consoli wrote about comments made by Les Moonves (President & CEO of CBS) regarding how the network will deal with a long writer's strike. Here is an excerpt from his article. The white highlights are my emphasis. Get ready........

Look for CBS to begin airing sister pay cable network Showtime hit drama Dexter sometime in midseason if the Writers Strike is prolonged, and for the broadcast network to bring back freshman sitcom The Big Bang Theory and first-year drama Moonlight next season.

Speaking at the 35th annual UBS Global Media & Communications Conference in New York today (Dec. 4), Les Moonves, CBS Corp. president & CEO, mentioned the two freshman shows as likely to return next season, and that CBS would be looking to air some Showtime shows to supplement its schedule should the Writers Guild strike continue and effect the return of first-run shows on the network.

Of the 5 new shows that CBS put on this Fall, he singled Big Bang Theory & Moonlight out. And stated.... he'd take two out of five any day."That's Hall of Fame batting," Moonves said... according to the Hollywood Reporter.

*CHEER* This is the first encouraging news we have received from the network. Our renewal campaign is having an effect, my friends. :) Be sure to continue watching every show, recruiting new viewers and contacting the network. We want them to realize this is the right decision!

TV Guide Features Alex O'Loughlin AGAIN! :)

TV Guide Magazine has published a feature article on Alex O'Loughlin ~ again! *cheer* Click on the images above to get a larger, legible versions. Great photos! He and Holly Valance make such a stunning couple. The reporter asks Alex how his girlfriend is handling "his burgeoning status as a heartthrob." Uhhhhh... that status is not "burgeoning"... he is already a heartthrob! :) As usual, he is modest and down plays his hunk appeal. Sophia says really sweet things about him.

I like this trend of him being in every issue. They are realizing how popular he is and how many issues Moonlight addicts will purchase. ha! All those emails and comments are really paying off. Of course, now I hope you will join me in contacting them to say a big "Thank You!"

Mick St John's Incredible Art Deco Apartment Building

I love to take photos of gorgeous buildings and have a special weakness for Art Deco. Since they first showed Mick St John's apartment building on Moonlight, I have thought how perfect it was for him. Fortunately, it is real... not some fake facade created on a computer. The Title Guarantee Building, located at Fifth and Hill in LA, is used for exterior shots. Here are two wonderful pictures of the actual building. Of course, I had to throw in a photograph of Mick St John ( Alex O'Loughlin ) & Beth Turner ( Sophia Myles ) on his balcony, from Moonlight's 12:04 episode ( #1x08 ).

Moonlight's Schedule for December

Moonlight's schedule for the month of December......

December 14th ~ Sleeping Beauty ~ Episode #1x10 ~ New

December 21st ~ No Such Thing as Vampires ~ Episode #1x01 ~ Pilot ~ Rerun

December 28th ~ Out of the Past ~ Episode #1x02 ~ Rerun

If we can just last until the 14th, we will have several weeks of Moonlight. Yea! The reruns are very important. Networks want to know that their shows will perform well in repeats. I am looking forward to seeing the first episodes on the big screen again. :) It will allow those who jumped into the show late to see the beginning. Also, this is the perfect time to recruit new viewers. I know that you understand how imperative it is for Moonlight to have great ratings not only for the next original episode, but for every rerun night too!

PS..... this is one of my favorite images from the pilot episode. Mick looks mighty good outside :)

Off to the races with Alex O'Loughlin!

Ken Faught ( the lovely owner & President of Pole Position Raceway ) graciously sent me several splendid photos of Alex O'Loughlin at their Toys for Tots charity event today. He was very happy with the piles of toys they received and the fun day. :) Everyone I have heard from that attended the festivities have only wonderful things to say about our Alex. Words like down to earth, funny, humble, attentive... oooo yea and handsome ~ ha.... have been used several times over.

Photo #1 ~ Alex looks like he is ready to do some serious driving!

Photo #2 ~ Action! Alex in 3rd place.

Photo #3 ~ Left to right ~ Alex O'Loughlin (Moonlight's Mick St John), Chad Reed (Supercross Champion) and Kathryn Morris (Cold Case)

By the way..... his t-shirt says "I'm not Johnny Ramone."

Go to Pole Position! Not only will you have a great time racing, you will be supporting a business that actually gives back to the community.

What is in Mick St John's glasses of blood?

I know that many of you have wondered what exactly is in those glasses of blood that Mick St John drinks. Moonlight vampire blood has a base of organic pomegranate and is finished with a mixture of other berry juices ~ according to their great prop department. Sounds pretty good, huh? Would you think that I am weird if I said it has always looked yummy to me?! :>

Photos ~ #1 Mick St John ( Alex O'Loughlin ) preparing to have breakfast.

#2 Mick St John ( Alex O'Loughlin ) drinking blood to heal his wounds.

Toys for Tots at Pole Position Raceway

I just returned from dropping off oodles of toys at the Pole Position Raceway here in OKC. The staff members were so nice. Of course, I explained that the only reason I knew about their Toys for Tots drive is because of Alex O'Loughlin and Moonlight :) We talked about the show for quite a while. I try to recruit new viewers where ever I can. It was a lot of fun. We encourage you to donate to this wonderful charity!

Trailer ~ Sophia Myles as Lucy in Dracula

Sophia is a bit attracted to projects that involve Vampires. :) This is a trailer for the BBC production of Dracula. Our Beth plays Lucy, so she is the vamp in this show. What would Mick think? hehehe....

Reminder! You can see Alex O'Loughlin in person today :)

Morning..... I want to remind you that Alex O'Loughlin will be making a public appearance TODAY at the Pole Position Raceway location in Corona. He is going to be racing go-karts & signing autographs to help Toys for Tots. I admire him even more for supporting such a wonderful charity! Helping kiddos and having fun ~ does it get any better than that?!?

A great band of fans from Moonlightline.com will be going to the event to represent us. Yea! You know they are only doing it for us, they won't enjoy seeing Alex in person at all. *wink* I am so glad they will be there to show him (and CBS) that Moonlight fans are a caring and wonderful bunch.

Please, share your Alex stories, photos and videos. If you find yourself with an extra autograph, you can always send it to your old pal Kandye. hehehe....

We will be going to our Pole Position location here in OKC to donate :) If you are not near a track, you can use this button to contribute directly to Toys for Tots.

You can see Alex O'Loughlin at 9:30 AM today, December 2nd.

SPOILER ~ Promo photos from Sleeping Beauty ~ episode #1x10

SPOILER ALERT!

To help us make it through the next two weeks ( 1 week and 6 days to be precise ), I have a few promo images of our boys to share from Sleeping Beauty ~ episode #1x10. This is photo set #1. You have probably read a synopsis of the episode, but just in case...

Josef's office is on fire when Mick arrives on the scene. There are no survivors and everything is destroyed. The attack was obviously by someone who knows that Josef is a Vampire, because they chose to use one of the two known methods to kill a Moonlight vamp. Tom ( Josef’s head of security ) and Mick begin investigating what happened. Meanwhile, Beth is also investigating the fire. She talks to many people from Josef’s past. They do not have anything good to say about him. Their investigations lead Beth and Mick to New York City, where yet another surprise from Josef’s past waits for them.

With this much time in between episodes, there is even more speculation than usual. :) Several thought that Josef may have perished in the blaze. From the photos, it looks like he survives. Plus, Alex has said in many interviews that we will see Josef and learn much more about him in future episodes ( fingers crossed for the show having a future of many seasons ). I am so excited that Sleeping Beauty is going to focus on Josef. I can not wait!

Photo Wallpaper of Sophia Myles as Beth Turner in the B.C. Episode (#1x06)

Here is a Sophia Myles wallpaper just for you! This is one of my favorite images of Beth ~ waking up at Mick's place in his shirt. I am sure you recognize it :) She manages to look lovely even with her make-up slightly smeared from that famous shower scene (B.C. episode #1x06).
