New Sophia Myles interview in the UK's TV & Satellite Week

The UK magazine, TV & Satellite Week, has a new interview with Sophia Myles to promote Moonlight's premiere. She talks again about her hair getting the "Hollywood treatment." In a previous interview, she discussed having to get fake extensions because her hair wasn't right for an LA girl like Beth. It is a brief feature on Moonlight, but nice to see Sophia getting some love from her home audience.

Sophia Myles is another Brit wowing America, in a new vampire drama

One of America's biggest recent hits comes to Living this week. Moonlight is a modern-day vampire drama and stars British actress Sophia Myles as internet reporter Beth Turner, who teams up wit Mick St John (Alex O'Loughlin), a private investigator who's secretly a vampire but who wants to use his powers for good. We caught up with Myles to find out more about the show...

What is your character like?

Beth is a reporter who covers hard-hitting, dangerous stuff. In the first episode, she meets Mick at the scene of a really horrific murder and there's some kind of connection. Viewers discover he saved her when she was a very young child, which makes for a very interesting, romantic story.

The show has been a big hit in the US. Why is it so popular?

The chemistry between Mick and Beth works really well. They develop a working partnership, like Mulder and Scully in The X Files. Every episode, you want them to get together.

Have you changed your look for the show?

My hair was given the whole Hollywood treatment. I was taken to this very expensive Beverly Hils salon. I looked like a scruffy dog going into one of those dog parlours, and when they'd finished, I was all clean.

The Brits seem to have taken over American TV lately.

Yeah, it's been an invasion. I'm thrilled that everyone's doing well. I've become very good friends with Anna Friel, who's out here doing Pushing Daisies.

This isn't your first vampire themed project. Are you a fan of the genre?

I've done Dracula on television with Marc Warren, and the Underworld movies. I wouldn't say I'm a fan of the genre, but as a storyteller, I'm interested in the whole immortality theme - an immortal falling in love with a mortal.

Moonlight airs on the UK's Living Channel on Tuesday nights at 10:00 PM

It seemed to me that the UK definitely promoted MOONLIGHT a lot more than CBS! Shame of CBS! CBS should do some promoting of the upcoming 4 new episodes of MOONLIGHT to get more viewers!
