Ratings for Moonlight's What's Left Behind Episode (#1x15) on May 9th

In Friday's ratings race, CBS won all time slots with its lineup. That makes three weeks in a row! However, the number of total viewers is down for each show compared to last week. Moonlight just barely missed reaching the 2.0 mark in the important 18 to 49 demographic. Our show is the winner in its time period again.

Ratings for Moonlight's Click Episode (#1x14) on May 2nd

CBS won Friday night with its lineup. Another May Sweeps victory. It is the only network to have shows above 2.0 in the important demo. Our vamps continue their consistent performance. We have much the same numbers week to week, and won our time period again.

'Moonlight' helps CBS win Friday
Cult vampire series tops 9 p.m. hour with little competition

CBS' cult-favorite vampire drama "Moonlight" returned Friday night and the result is a ratings story that's as complicated as Nielsen numbers can get.

On one hand, "Moonlight" (8 million viewers, 2.1 average adults 18 to 49 rating and a 7 share) won the 9 p.m. hour and helped CBS win the night.

On the other hand, the competition was nonexistent -- with NBC's "Dateline" (7 million, 1.9/6) the closest competitor.

On yet another hand, "Moonlight" had a strong retention of its "Ghost Whisperer" lead-in (9 million, 2.3/9) and, at 10 p.m., "Numbers" performed similarly (9.6 million, 2.2/7).

Running out of hands, "Moonlight" was down 9% from its pre-strike original average.

But other serialized shows coming back post-strike have dropped even more.

In other words, the "Moonlight" number is nothing for CBS to be proud of. Yet it is.

Ratings for Moonlight's Fated to Pretend (episode #1x13) ~ April 25th

Ratings race for 4/25/08 ~ CBS won the night, which happens to be the first Friday of May sweeps. Moonlight was the winner of its time slot ~ both in viewers & the important demo! Out of the ten shows airing on Friday night, Moonlight took 3rd place :) YEA! However, we need to get the ratings up. We want to have numbers that CBS just can not ignore.

Also, as we have been discussing, please continue sending feedback to the network. Let them know that we watch Moonlight but don't count in the numbers because we are not Nielsen families.

When Love Lasts Forever (episode #1x11) & The Mortal Cure (episode #1x12) originally aired in January, they grabbed 8.32 million demo 3 & 8.17 million demo 3.13 respectively. Our goal is to meet and BEST those numbers. Keep spreading the word about our show!

Ratings for Moonlight's Arrested Development episode (#1x05) on Friday, February 8th, 2008

As you can expect on a February Sweeps' Friday night of reruns, the ratings were low across the networks. Moonlight's repeat held steady, ranking #2 with over 5 million viewers and with exactly the same demo numbers again this week.

A few other numbers from the night.....

House won our time slot again for Fox with 8.20 million viewers. On NBC, Friday Night Lights had 5.22 million viewers in 3rd place. ABC's Desperate Housewives finished in last place with 3.79 million viewers. Ouch! It just wasn't a very good night for ABC at all.... The rebroadcast of Grey's Anatomy in the 7:00pm/8:00pm period only had 3.95 million. At least, the network's night finished better when 20/20 in the 9:00pm/10:00pm slot grabbed 6.29 million eyes and 3rd place.

Ratings for Moonlight's Fever episode (#1x04) on Friday, February 1st, 2008

Friday night shows do not usually have huge numbers under normal circumstances. Even though this is the February sweeps period, most networks only have reruns to show due to the writer's strike. Sooooo.... that means last Friday's ratings were especially low across the board for all the television networks.

Fast Nationals : 5.91 million viewers (2nd), 18 to 49 demo share 1.5/ 4 (3rd)

In my opinion, those are not bad numbers for a repeat episode. Comparing Moonlight to the other shows that night, none had high ratings. For example ~

In Moonlight's time slot (8:00 PM CST/9:00 PM Eastern), on Fox, House won with 7.83 million viewers.... NBC's Friday Night Lights got 5.64 million.... ABC's Desperate Housewives had a very low 3.64 million.

Grey's Anatomy (ABC) 4.13 million viewers.
