Video ~ Mick's second fight scene & unstaking Josef from Sleeping Beauty (#1x10)

We must have been really good cuz Christmas came today! CBS has released yet another Moonlight video today!!! I could get used to this :) "Moonlight - Please Remove the Stake" They have given us Mick's second fight scene with the hitman, poor Josef getting shot and staked, then Mick removing the stake for him. Jason's line reads are just perfect. I love how he simply says "thanks" after Mick unstakes him.

Speaking of.... don't you just adore the way Alex says "Josef." His voice is delicious
with or without his native Australian accent. Mmmmmmmm....

Time to start writing! We definitely need to thank CBS for this bounty.

Video ~ Mick's fight scene from Sleeping Beauty (#1x10)

CBS posted another Moonlight video a few minutes ago. Love the title ~ "Don't Make Mick Repeat Himself!" It is the first fight scene Mick has with Josef's would be assassin from the Sleeping Beauty episode (#1x10) last Friday.

CBS includes Moonlight in new promo video

CBS released a new promo video today called CBS Explosions. Its tag line is "If you thought 2007 was explosive... just wait till 2008!!" Moonlight is one of the shows they selected to use in it ~ along with CSI, Cane, Jericho, Without a Trace, NCIS, Cold Case, The Unit, Numb3rs, Criminal Minds, Shark, CSI Miami & NY. We like seeing 2008 and Moonlight mentioned together, huh? :) Since their theme is explosions, the scene they included is from the B.C. episode (#1x06) where Mick blows up Lola's Black Crystal Vampire Drug lab.

Sophia & Shannyn at P.S. I Love You Movie Premiere

Sophia Myles and Shannyn Sossamon attended the movie premiere for the new Hilary Swank film, P.S. I Love You. The flick also stars Gerard Butler, Harry Connick Jr, Gina Gershon and Lisa Kudrow. These are great photos of our girls from the red carpet at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. You know the reporters and photographers can not resist these two beautiful women. A little more publicity for Moonlight! It is good to know that our cast like each other enough to hang out after spending 18 hours a day working together ~ Shannyn & Sophia at the movies, Alex & Jason in Australia for New Year's Eve. :) Do you want to spend that kinda time with the guy in the office next to you?!!?? ha!

Alex O'Loughlin speaks to Australian Newspaper Sydney Morning Hearld

We have all been hoping that our Aussie and our Brit would be able to return home for the holiday season. Alex & his delicious girlfriend, Holly Valance, did make the trip back to Australia. Jason Dohring & his lovely wife, Lauren, plan to travel there also to celebrate the New Year with Alex. Can you imagine how much fun it would be to ring in 2008 with them?!?! From what I'm hearing, Sophia is still here in the US.

I've gone to the future to get this for you. *grin* Sorry, couldn't resist since it's December 17th in Australia. Alex has been interviewed by Scott Ellis from one of his home newspapers ~ The Sydney Morning Hearld. Funny.... almost every article throws in a description of Alex puffing away on a cigar.

Great feature! We've seen and heard about Alex's playful side. In this, he reveals more of his philosophical, thoughtful outlook on life.

Alex O'Loughlin is sitting in his make-up trailer, alternating puffs on a cigar with a serious discussion about spiritual belief and human nature.

"I think really if there's nothing out there in the dark, then once we're dead we're just dead and all religion, all spiritual belief, is redundant," O'Loughlin said. "So there has to be something else, or what's the point? And if we accept that there has to be something ... then there can be anything."

"Mick St John essentially is a human who denies the monster within," O'Loughlin said. "He became a vampire against his will and then became a private investigator because he feels that each predator he gets rid of, each monster he kills or has put away gets him closer to the humanity within himself that he has lost."

"He's a very complex character to play because really he hates what he is and hates himself, and that's put him right on the edge."

Also pushing him to the edge is his relationship with Beth Turner (played by Sophia Myles), a reporter who discovers his secret.

As a child, Beth was saved by St John and was the first step on his search for redemption. Now grown up and igniting passions he's tried to deny, she is both the one woman he could love and the one woman he shouldn't.

"What saving [Beth] signifies to him was so enormous and now that she's come of age and he's starting to find himself attracted to her ... oh man ... he wants her to call him Dad and he wants her to call him Baby ... it's all messed up."

"But that allows for some really dramatic twists and changes in the character that you just wouldn't see anywhere else."

"A big thing that comes up for me with this show and with this world is redemption," he said.

"At what point can we no longer be redeemed? And Mick's hoping the answer is never."

Vampire on a mission ~

Video Part 2 ~ Josef scenes from Sleeping Beauty (episode #1x10)

Part 2 ~ video of Josef's scenes from Sleeping Beauty ~ episode #1x10.

"The longer we were together the more I began to think that the whole reason I became a Vampire was so I could live long enough to meet her." Jason put such feeling into this scene in particular. Heartbreaking!

Of course, with our Josef, it is not all sad. There has to be humor too. And, bonus, we get to see Jason again without his shirt on :)

"You know, for a 400 year old Vampire you sure have a low threshold for pain." "Well giving is different than receiving." *wink*

Video Part 1 ~ Josef scenes from Sleeping Beauty (episode #1x10)

This is a video of the wonderful Josef scenes from the last episode of Moonlight ~ Sleeping Beauty (#1x10) thoughtfully provided by MarsBarz88. This is part 1.

We are so fortunate to have such a talented cast on our show. Of course, I have always praised their acting but they deserve it even more after this episode.... especially Jason and Alex. They handled their emotional scenes with ease.

Mick and Beth scenes from Sleeping Beauty (episode #1x10)

PurpleHippie has kindly put together a video of the amazing Mick and Beth scenes from last night's Moonlight ~ Sleeping Beauty #1x10! *cheer* Now, we can rewatch their pivotal moments again.

Moonlight's ratings for Friday, December 14th

The ratings for Moonlight have not been officially announced yet. BOO! Good news ~ we do know that Moonlight won its time slot!!! In fact, CBS did win the night in every time period.

According to Fast Nationals, Moonlight had a 4.9/9 share.

Speculation is that we had about 7.5 to 7.6 million viewers. I looked back through our previous ratings. The B.C. episode (#1x06) also had a 4.9/9 which translated to 7.55 million. Of course, I will let you know as soon as the final results are in for our show. :)

Another thing I noticed in old ratings info.... the episode before Sleeping Beauty was Fleur De Lis (#1x09). It had 4.7/8 share, 7.32 million. That means, we were UP from the last episode even with the holidays and the lousy 3 week break. YEA!!!

Sleeping Beauty (episode #1x10) is available on CBS site!

Hey..... CBS has already posted the Sleeping Beauty episode (#1x10) on their Moonlight web site. You can watch the full show online again right now!

Music from Sleeping Beauty Episode #1x10

Music from tonight's Moonlight episode ~ Sleeping Beauty #1x10.

Recap ~ Sleeping Beauty (episode #1x10) Thoughts

Welcome back, Moonlight! That was not an hour, was it? Where did the time go? As the credits popped up, I scrambled for the clock thinking "The hour could not be over already!" What a way to come back from a break! I can't even think straight ~ so much happened. Trevor Munson & Ron Koslow wrote this episode. Loved it! There were too many great quotes, funny moments, heart breaking moments........

SPOILER ALERT ~ If you haven't seen the show tonight, DO NOT READ this post!

Beth just go away! My friend just died. I don't really want to talk to you right now. No... actually, you stay and get your story. You do your job... I'll do mine.

Mick was angry in this episode. He went off on Beth and Josef. My goodness! Emotions are obviously swirling in him. He has been holding everything inside for such a long time and denying himself. Now ~ Beth pursuing him, Coraline is back, there may be a "cure" for Vampirism, Beth stakes Coraline before he can find out what she used to become human, she is on her death bed, Josef is "killed" ~ WHEW! Take a deep breath! No wonder Mick is confused (and a bit testy).

He did let Beth off the hook... telling her that she couldn't have known that Coraline was not a Vampire when she staked her. That he didn't even know. Beth states that he still cares for Coraline... his reply? "She was my wife."

Previously I mentioned noticing that Mick said Coraline had been a vamp for 500 years in the Sleeping Beauty promo video ~ which did not fit with him telling Beth that Coraline was turned in the early 1700's. We thought it would be cleared up in the actual episode, and it was.... Mick simply said that Coraline has been a Vampire for years without giving an exact number.

Coraline told the hospital staff that her wound was caused by an accident instead of ratting on Beth.

We learned that Coraline introduced Mick and Josef. Mick thought Josef was "a pompous jerk" and Josef thought Mick "was not cut out to be a Vampire."

The conversation between Coraline and Mick was very interesting! "I came back for you." Mick kept asking about the cure. "It always comes back to this." She can not understand why he wants to be mortal and face death. Then, the big question is asked ~ "It's about Beth, isn't it?" Mick says it isn't about her...... but we know it is!

Mick takes some of Coraline's blood. Very smart!

Mo telling Beth "tracking says women 18 to 34 find you a little harsh" made me chuckle out loud.

The attack on Josef's office was shocking. No more Tim & Dan. Poker night and Mick was supposed to be there.

I spent a lot of this episode wanting to comfort our boys. When Mick thinks that Josef is dead becoming teary eyed, I was glad that he allowed Beth to hold and comfort him. "I've outlived so many of my human friends, you'd think that I'd be used to losing people by now." "He survived 400 years. 400 years. He saw so much... so much history." "He was history and now he's gone."That loss to me is so enormous that I'm not even sure that I know how to mourn him."

Was I the only one who thought "let me help you with that" when Mick said he needed a drink??!??!! :>

Of course, I knew that our Josef was not dead and that he would be sitting in Mick's apartment. "You just gonna stand there all day, or you gonna help me find out who killed me?" That made me laugh out loud.

Another laugh out loud scene was when Mick is staring at Sam the super hacker, who happens to be a girl. She sassily says people expect her to be "overweight, living in my parent's basement, wearing a t-shirt with Yoda on it." Awesome!

When Mick told Josef to stay in his apartment, I knew he wouldn't be able to be a good boy. *grin* Another angry Mick moment upon returning home to find Josef entertaining some willing freshies. "Daddy's a little grumpy." Mick pointed out that Josef could at least care about not getting him killed. Tellingly Josef says he gets lonely. Mick understands that all too well.

I want a safe full of cash! We knew there was something else, something more personal that Josef needed that was in that safe. Mick to the rescue! "You already died once this week, isn't that enough?"

Fantastic fight scene!!! That military trained assassin made a good antagonist for our Mick. I enjoyed the way Mick handled and beat him in LA and New York. Vamped out Mr St John ~ so yummy!

The New York trip.... Beth teasing Mick that she is going to "stop you from doing something stupid."

Beth completely forgot about boring... I mean.... movie night with Josh. Did you see the thoroughly happy look on her face as she opened that door expecting to see Mick. I do feel for Josh. He sees the woman he loves slipping away. Mick is just too much for a normal guy to compete with even with out the sexy vamp thing. I like the fact that Josh had the guts to just come out and say "this isn't working," "look me in the face right now & tell me you don't have feelings for him." Beth's non-answer and then.... Mick knocks on the door right at that moment.

I would have liked to see exactly what happened & what was talked about between them on that long trip.

The look Beth gives to Mick after he easily leaps up to pull down the fire escape ladder for them was priceless! I found it quite impressive, manly and arousing too. :)

When Beth was reading Sarah's diary to Mick, we all know that allowed her to say words that she has been longing to tell him!!! "It doesn't matter to me what he is, I love him. I want to be with him even though he tells me it's impossible. I know our love can overcome any obstacle. I want him to turn me into what he is. He says it's dangerous, but I don't care. I'm not afraid. It's the only way we can be together forever. I'm ready." Excellent writing!

Since it is difficult to explain the whole no aging thing, it makes sense that Vampyres can not have to be nomadic. It is a great moment when Beth lets Mick know she realizes why he stayed in Los Angeles all these years despite the danger. "Vamps tend to move around. We can't stay in one spot too long." "You have... you stayed in LA." "I like the weather." "Really?"

Now we know why Josef always has that air of sadness.

What a heart-rending story. He loved Sarah and lost her. It broke my heart to see that he has cared for her all these years just hoping for a miracle to return her to him! In the flashback, Josef appeared very happy. We've never seen him like that. I hope he finds comfort in Sarah's diary. I'm glad Beth thought to offer it. He will read of her love for him.

Mick threw himself on top of Beth to protect her from the killer's bullets. I was cheering as he vamped out and dispatched him with one hand!

Josef should take off his shirt more often! *wink*

I laughed out loud again while watching Mick assist Josef by removing the bullets from his back. Ribbing him for not being able to deal with the pain after living for 400 years. "Giving is different than receiving." ha!

Mick says of seeing Josef in love "this proves that anything is possible." Then, Josef gives him a pep talk about making it work with Beth. What a turn around! This experience also made Mick realize what is important. He was so boyish and happy when asking Beth to go with him to do something fun and experience New York.... "a steak for the lady. Just you and me on the town." SHE TURNS HIM DOWN! That upset me so much. He is reaching out and taking a chance. In response, Beth decides to return home because she did not leave things well with Josh. *sigh*

The situation with Sarah obviously frightened Beth. Did you notice that the first thing she brought up to Mick as they were leaving was if he thinks there really is a cure??? Knowing Josef and Sarah's story made her think twice about being turned, instead she wants Mick to become human like her.

Mick appreciates her situation and why she is hesitant. In the face of Beth's rejection of his overture, Mick still placed his hand on the taxi window. She couldn't resist returning the gesture ~ which Mick initiated this time! He had such longing on his face. I would have jumped out of that cab so fast to free him of that look.

The "cure" is only temporary. Her nurse certainly is lucky to have not ended up as a snack. *grin* Coraline's first word upon returning to her vamp self is "MICK!"

TV Guide features Alex O'Loughlin online!

I know I have said it before, but...... I adore TV Guide! They have yet another feature with Alex O'Loughlin. Looks like they are as charmed by him as we are :)

TVGuide.com :

O'Loughlin loves the rush he gets from doing his own stunts. "I really feel like I'm participating in life when I'm strapped into a harness and hanging precariously above the ground," says the 31-year-old Australian actor (
whose last name is pronounced "O-lock-lin"). As Moonlight's crime-fighting vampire/private detective Mick St. John, he gets plenty of chances to revel in those daredevil moments. His character often leaps from rooftops and catwalks in pursuit of both mortal and immortal lawbreakers.

On a fall afternoon on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, however, the actor finds himself earthbound, shooting an indoor scene where Mick is pondering the ongoing plot about whether or not the evil ex he killed is still alive. Between takes, he ducks out to an alley to puff a Cuban cigar. Costumed in trademark Mick garb — black jeans, boots, dark shirt — he apologizes repeatedly for the smoke, his gentlemanly concern something you'd expect from Mr. St. John.

But while Mick is smoldering and reserved, O'Loughlin is playful. "He's a bundle of energy," says costar Sophia Myles, who plays reporter Beth Turner, the woman Mick loves but can't have. "And he's funny — he makes me laugh all night long. With our schedule, 16 hours a day, six days a week, I couldn't have hoped for anyone more wonderful to work with."

The intense routine means that the actor doesn't get to see his girlfriend, Australian actress/singer Holly Valance, as much as he'd like, although she recently guest-starred as Lola, the gorgeous vamp Mick fought to the death. The two met while he was doing construction work for a mutual friend and have been dating for a year and a half. How's she handling his burgeoning status as a heartthrob? "She's a sex symbol," O'Loughlin says of her status Down Under, "so probably the same way that I do, which is just deal with it. To me, it's weird."

"What's great about Alex is he can turn on the sex for the job, but he never abuses his good looks," Myles says. "He knows his place in the universe." Right now that's a pretty sweet spot. Besides Moonlight, he's appearing in two films: In August Rush, he's a passionate musician, and in next year's Whiteout (with Kate Beckinsale), he's a rough-and-tumble pilot. "He's one of the baddies," O'Loughlin says. "But I mean, who is bad? You know?"

As usual, the lovely Sophia Myles only has great things to say about her co-star. Read it all at ~

It is finally Moonlight Friday again!!!

Moonlight returns tonight! *CHEER* We made it through the long, drawn out three week break together. Thanks for helping me endure it :) Sleeping Beauty is our reward!

Alex O'Loughlin's Fun Mitsubishi Commercial

Warning.... this commercial will make you want to run out and buy a Mitsubishi. ha! As usual, Alex looks so happy and funny. It must be wonderful to be around someone with his outgoing personality.

Moonlight's ratings from last night's Australian television debut

Moonlight premiered last night in Australia on Channel Nine. Its ratings ~ 696,000 viewers. The network paired it with ER (weird match) which rated 658,000 watchers. Since Moonlight grabbed more viewers than its lead-in, people must have switched channels just to watch it! Let's hope that is a good sign.

Another CBS show, Cane, was also on Australian television last night (Channel Ten) ~ 586,000 tuned in. NBC's 30 Rock (Network 7) only had 353,000 viewers. The top program was Vicar of Dibley (ABC) with 1,377,000.

I wanna urge all of our Aussie friends to watch Moonlight every week, and spread the word! :) It airs Wednesday nights at 9:30 on Channel Nine.

The TV Addict Interviews Jason Dohring!

Amrie Cunningham has done an amazing interview with Jason Dohring on The TV Addict site! Moonlight's cast is the most open and candid I have ever seen. They just tell you how it is. Amrie asks Jason some wonderful questions about Josef, Moonlight, Mick and the future.

TVAddict.com :
How is the experience on Moonlight different from your experience on Veronica Mars?

Jason:
Yeah, there’s a couple things I guess. The characters are obviously a bit different. You know, I think, they both have really interesting stories. Josef was kind of the expansion of a character, it’s like the 400 years aspect, as we’ll find more about as the story unfolds. There’s so much history. As an actor, each new script that comes out, you kind of add to that. You don’t know beforehand, when you first started, what your history is, but you sort of learn as you do it. You’re sort of picking that up and putting that in your character as you go. So I think it adds more to the storyline like that. And I think, just being on CBS is quite a bit different. It’s a bigger cast. You’re at Warner Bros which is quite close to my house so I don’t have to trek down to San Diego, which is kind of nicer. Just those two aspects more than anything else.

TVAddict.com :
Do you know if the show will be delving more into his past, more of his past loves and how he managed to become so successful?

Jason :
Absolutely. I think the successful thing [came] more in the first episode, with the hedge fund trader, and the real estate. In the episode this Friday, you find out basically why he’s always concerned about Mick dating humans and being with humans, like what is that? There’s basically a personal reason that Josef’s gone through. I don’t know if it’s proper or whatever, but I always kind of take the idea that maybe Josef has gone through what Mick’s going through. Maybe one time he was a good person, and you’ll sort of see glimpses of that, you know, with my former hairstyle, and my really nice suit in New York in this week’s episode.

TVAddict.com :
Is Josef going to get a love interest?

Jason :
That’s fantastic man. You’re going to find out. You’ll see some really cool stuff in this next episode. I don’t know if that’s too much of a spoiler or whatever, but you’ll definitely see some love interest. You’ll see. I don’t know how to explain it or whatever. I think he would. Like Logan, he’s probably a tough guy to live with. There was an episode with Lola or whatever. They had the on again off again thing. I would really like to see someone that could match him, they fight, they get back together. I think it would be quite a passionate relationship.

TVAddict.com :
How many episodes are left with the strike, what are we going to see, what does the future hold?

Jason :
Les Moonves said a few days ago, some kind stuff about our show and The Big Bang Theory, about us coming back for a second season. I can’t speak for the producers, but that was given in a press interview, which is obviously a good sign. There’s a lot of plus points. Our show is one of two shows that have been up-trending in viewership. So obviously that’s a good sign. We’re right around 8 million, which is pretty high. Having CBS as backup, promo-ing the show, you’re sitting there watching golf and see a promo, which helps out a lot. We just finished shooting number 12 about 3 or 4 days ago. It was very good. There’s a vampire that comes that makes me look like a popper which is cool. It goes back in history. We have some great history, makeup and sets, and like an “old world, from a different time” feel to the show and the storyline comes out. I think it’ll be really cool to see how it all turns out. Great makeup and George Washington hair and all that cool stuff. [Air date] is sometime in January. 11 and 12 will both air in January [January 4th and 11th].

TVAddict.com :
Going past episode 12, do you know anything about what your character is expected to see?

Jason :
It’s pretty much in the formulistic stages, with regard to that. Obviously, there’s no scripts written. There’s some possible stuff. The one thing that I heard is basically a betrayal of Josef against Mick. Something Josef’s been telling him all along is not true, and it’s very important to Mick. That’ll lead to some very cool stuff. There’s some great stuff coming up. I’m so excited for you to see it. Particularly, in episode 11, I think you’re going to fall in love with this one character, she’s just unreal, this girl.

TVAddict.com :
The next question kind of goes along with that – some of the readers of our site were interested in seeing Josef and Mick as possible enemies – is that something you’d want to play?

Jason :
Oh absolutely, I’m always kind of in favor of changing things around. You can always come around. I think that would be great. He can stand up to the best of them, so I’d like to see him maybe tear me a new one ha.

TVAddict.com :
A lot of the scenes that people have really responded to have been ones where there is real male camaraderie going on. Is there going to be more of that male bonding coming up? Or is that going to be fractured?

Jason :
I hope it never gets to that. I think it’s a part of who these guys are. A big part of why Josef is in the storyline at all is because he’s somewhat of a mentor, a safe person that Mick can ask about certain experiences he’s going through and how they relate to Josef’s knowledge of the situation. They’re the scenes that I enjoy the most. A lot of that banter back and forth. Hopefully, we’ll get a lot more.

TVAddict.com :
There’s a lot of action on Moonlight and I was wondering if you expect to see Josef get in on the action?

Jason :
All they had was me slipping on the rooftop so far, which is the extent of my action, I don’t know if you saw that one, where I like jump up on the roof or whatever. I expect that there would be some more. I would love to se him get in a fight. I’d be curious to see how they write it. I think perhaps, he [frakking], oops, sorry about that [Editor’s Note: it made him seem so normal, down to earth, and comfortable with himself to just let the F-word slip out…], just vamps out. He goes nuts. He just totally loses his mind. I think that would be so cool.

CBS releases a new MickBeth fan video ~ Immortal Observations with Mick St John

CBS created and released a new fan video tonight! YEA! They titled it ~ Immortal Observations by Mick St John. It always makes me happy to see them showing an interest in Moonlight.... and realizing the fans want more. In the description they even wrote, " Mick St. John makes being immortal look damn good. That's right, Mickbeth fans, the EyeLab brings you yet *another* steamy MickBeth video. Because, like you, we just can't get enough. " Keep letting them know how we feel about our show! Join me in thanking EyeLab & CBS for their attention.

You can send CBS a message on their YouTube page, if you are a user ~

http://www.youtube.com/user/CBS

Send feedback on the CBS Website ~

http://www.cbs.com/info/user_services/fb_global_form.shtml

Since I am on a roll with noticing the age thing...... In this video, Mick says he is 89. However, he told Beth that he would be 85 on his "birthday" last month. The show will probably explain later. As I have said, little inconsistencies happen on all shows. Plus, Moonlight went through a lot of changes to say the least. None of that keeps me from loving our show! :)

Off Topic ~ Photos of our ice storm ~ Brrrrrr!

Several of you have thoughtfully emailed to make sure we are safe and not sitting in the dark. You are so good to me! It means a lot for you to even remember me briefly mentioning living in Oklahoma City, let alone to be worried. Thank you!

As requested, I am posting two of the photos I took yesterday. We are not normally subjected to this kinda weather in OKC. The first day, we woke to a silent dusting of white on our lawn. Then, thunder and rain. Next ~ dazzling icicles are glinting in every tree and off every roof. Very pretty but equally dangerous. Our lovely old trees have been hard hit. Every few minutes we hear a mighty crack, often followed by the crash of several huge limbs hitting the ground, our fence, porch, etc. One tree looks like a total loss. Tall and strong for years, now split into many sections. We will just have to assess the damage once this is all over.

We have been fortunate thus far to not be among those who lost power, or tragically those who lost their life.

Right at this moment, I can hear the rain pelting against our home. It has been doing so all day. Good news ~ they are forecasting that the situation will steadily improve over the next few days as the temperature rises.

Super Fan, Lisa Gerry, Interviews Alex O'Loughlin

Lisa Gerry, from Moonlightline, was able to do a great interview with Alex O'Loughlin at his recent appearance at Pole Position's Toys for Tots event. She has published it for us on Monsters & Critics lovely website.

Alex was so accomodating to all his fans! He has such a crazy work schedule. You know he must have been exhausted, but he was still so sweet and available. In the interview, they discuss the hard work as well as moving to LA, auditioning, being compared to other Vampire shows, etc. Can you imagine the executives who are now kicking themselves for not hiring Alex when they had the chance?! ha!

One of Alex's quotes that I especially like is ~ If they get this strike out of the way, sooner, rather than later, we're a shoe-in. I'm not running the network. I know that they love us, I know that they know how important the show is to the people.” You can see why *smile*

Thanks, again, to the amazing Moonlight fans who donated $1000 worth of playthings! YEA!!! And, to those who continue to donate toys, time & $$$. What a cool bunch :)

SPOILER ~ CBS has released a video preview for Sleeping Beauty (#1x10)

SPOILER ALERT!

CBS has finally released a sneak peek video promo for the next episode ~ Sleeping Beauty (#1x10)! We have waited soooo long and thirsted for something new. Tell me what you think after you watch this preview.

Update....... Hey guys ~ Am I hearing things, or does Mick say that Coraline has been a vampire for 500 years?!??? That would make her older than Josef. In the Fleur De Lis episode, Mick tells Beth that Coraline was turned in the early 1700's ~ which would mean she is around 300 years old. Listen close the next time you view the promo and let me know if you hear the same thing I do. Did Mick find out Coraline is older than he was originally told?

Fan Video ~ Josef and Beth?

We have all seen the looks that Josef ( Jason Dohring ) has given to Beth ( Sophia Myles ) and wondered what is going through that mind of his. Is he thinking "Dinner!" or something else? There has been much speculation about a relationship between these two ~ with some wanting them to really get together and others only to make Mick jealous. AnnaMaureen created this "what if" fan video for us.

SPOILER ~ Promo photos (set #2) from Sleeping Beauty ~ episode #1x10

SPOILER ALERT!!!

This is promo photo set #2 from the next, long awaited episode of Moonlight ~ Sleeping Beauty (#1x10). It will be on this Friday, December 14th, 2007. Finally! We have almost made it through this annoying three week break.

Josef looks so sad :(

More spoiler information....... A dying man, who has a long held vendetta against our Josef, is the one who places a hit on him. The man's anger toward Josef has something to do with his daughter. While Mick is investigating and hunting for the assassin, he discovers the dark secret his best friend has hidden from him for 40 years. This secret is the reason why Josef has always insisted that Mick & Beth can never be in a romantic relationship. Hmmmmmm.......... Sounds like Josef had a human lover and it did not end happily!

CBS adds "Interview with a Vampire" to Moonlight's official site

We like to see that CBS is continuing to maintain and update Moonlight's official website. They have added a clip from Mick's "Interview with a Vampire" video. The 30 second spot includes him talking about being nocturnal, golfing, "daylight's not good" and "boxers or briefs." I don't mind seeing it again. *wink* Beth is not the voice of the interviewer in this version.

Here is a link to the network's Moonlight page. Keep in mind, they track the number of visitors each show's site receives daily! Visit as often as you can because it looks good for our show. Also, you can send positive Moonlight feedback to CBS while you are there. :)

Matt Roush's "shout out" to Moonlight fanatics!

Hey guys! A TV Guide reader wrote to Matt Roush to ask a Blood Ties question. I had to share his answer with you, because he gives a fun "shout out" to the voracious fans of Moonlight ~ which I highlighted in white. :)

PS..... I do not wish for any television show to be cancelled, especially not one that is Vampyre related. :> Hopefully, the Blood Ties fans feel the same way about us.

Kim S. :

OK, I know you hate Blood Ties, but cut me some slack. It is my guilty pleasure, plus it is the best vampire show on right now. I noticed that the last two episodes of this season are only going to be shown on the Internet. Does this mean the show has been canceled or is it just fallout from the strike?

Matt Roush :

Kim, you naughty thing, riling all of those Moonlight fans by calling this anemic pretender the "best vampire show" of the moment. Here's the situation, as explained by Lifetime: Blood Ties' companion shows, Lisa Williams: Life Among the Dead and America's Psychic Challenge (seriously, I'm not making up these titles), reached their season finales before Blood Ties did, so the network decided to air the remaining episodes online because the "Psy-Fridays" franchise was no longer intact. Which may not make much sense to fans but can be read as a lack of support for this show by the network. I'm told Blood Ties' fate hasn't been yet determined, but I wouldn't be too optimistic. Still, anything's possible, given that this show is an acquisition from Canada and not an original Lifetime production, so the decision will probably be more economic than creative.

When Vivian Met Alex O'Loughlin :)

Vivian, an awesome & loyal Moonlightfan blog reader, got to met the luscious Alex O'Loughlin at the recent Pole Position Toys for Tots event. She took the time to send me her photographs and enthusiastically written story. Graciously, she is allowing me to share with all of you too. :) By the way, click on the pictures above to get a bigger version of the images.

Photo #1 to #4 ~ I bet you recognize our Mick St John *wink*

Photo #5 ~ One of Vivian's lovely sisters with Alex O'Loughlin

Photo #6 ~ The sweet Vivian with Alex O'Loughlin ~ She doesn't look happy at all, does she? ha!

Her story......

First off though I just wanted to let you know the event turned out well. The minute Alex walked in the door we all converged on him. He didn’t stand a chance. LOL. He was so accommodating and accessible the whole day. He never said no to anyone asking for a picture or autograph. Unfortunately, he didn’t have a sit down autograph session like the others who attended but needless to say I was able to get him to sign one for me.

I didn’t really take as many photos as some others probably did. I did however get some video footage. I took the video for my sister who was ill and couldn’t make the event. She soooooo wanted to be there. Alex was a sweetheart and when I asked if he could send a special “get well” greeting for her, he didn’t hesitate. Needless to say, she was thrilled when I showed it to her, but it really wasn’t like being there.

This was the perfect setup for the chance to meet Alex. Not a huge crowd and like I said he was really accessible. He was probably overwhelmed of how many people were there and we were all there to see him. He had no security around him at all. It was perfect. Being in a larger situation, say like a “convention” it would probably be almost impossible to have a one-on-one with him like we had that day. It was just perfect !!!! Can’t believe I was able to be that close to him. He was just a sweetheart. Bet he was exhausted by the end of the day. He was actually there from about 9:10 a.m. to 2 pm.

Don't forget ~ there is still plenty of time to donate to the wonderful Toys for Tots organization!

Writer's Strike Update ~ The AMPTP has broken off negotiations with WGA

Not good news about the progress of talks to end the Writer's Strike......

LOS ANGELES - WGA Negotiating Committee Chair John F. Bowman, on behalf of the Writers Guild of America, West (WGAW) and the Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE), has issued the following message regarding Contract 2007 negotiations:

Today, after three days of discussions, the AMPTP came back to us with a proposal that included a total rejection of our proposal on Internet streaming of December 3.

They are holding to their offer of a $250 fixed residual for unlimited one year streaming after a six-week window of free use. They still insist on the DVD rate for Internet downloads.

They refuse to cover original material made for new media.

This offer was accompanied by an ultimatum: the AMPTP demands we give up several of our proposals, including Fair Market Value (our protection against vertical integration and self-dealing), animation, reality, and, most crucially, any proposal that uses distributor’s gross as a basis for residuals. This would require us to concede most of our Internet proposal as a precondition for continued bargaining. The AMPTP insists we let them do to the Internet what they did to home video.

We received a similar ultimatum through back channels prior to the discussions of November 4. At that time, we were assured that if we took DVD’s off the table, we would get a fair offer on new media issues. That offer never materialized.

We reject the idea of an ultimatum. Although a number of items we have on the table are negotiable, we cannot be forced to bargain with ourselves. The AMPTP has many proposals on the table that are unacceptable to writers, but we have never delivered ultimatums.

As we prepared our counter-offer, at 6:05 p.m., Nick Counter came and said to us, in the mediator’s presence: “We are leaving. When you write us a letter saying you will take all these items off the table, we will reschedule negotiations with you.” Within minutes, the AMPTP had posted a lengthy statement announcing the breakdown of negotiations.

We remain ready and willing to negotiate, no matter how intransigent our bargaining partners are, because the stakes are simply too high. We were prepared to counter their proposal tonight, and when any of them are ready to return to the table, we’re here, ready to make a fair deal.

CBS releases another Moonlight video ~ from Fleur De Lis (episode #1x09)

CBS has released another Moonlight video! I like to see that they are aware enough of our thirst for more that they did so. This video is of the action packed sequence when Mick saves his client, Mr Haggans, from his would be killers and also Morgan/Coraline in Fleur De Lis (episode #1x09). Busy boy! It includes several of my fave moments..... Mick lifting the assistant off his feet with one hand, "you take the elevator" jumping down several flights of stairs, knocking out the creepy son with one punch, leaping high in the air while saving Morgan "and they say Jordan had air," too much fun!

Alex O'Loughlin as Mick St John ~ Photo Wallpaper from Sleeping Beauty (episode #1x10)

Another Moonlight-less Friday. :( We can at least decorate our computer backgrounds with happy images to keep us going. ha! This great photo wallpaper of Mick is from the upcoming, much anticipated Sleeping Beauty episode (#1x10). Is it December 14th yet?! On the bright side, we have made it through the first long two weeks together. One more week to go............

Interviews with Moonlight's Set Decorator & Production Designer

Mick's loft is my dream apartment. You already know how I drool over his bookshelves. :) I think the production crew of Moonlight does an incredible job, especially with the budget constraints. April, from Monsters and Critics, has two informative interviews for us! One with our set decorator Chris Marsteller, and the other with our production designer Alfred Sole. She asked them questions submitted by the fans. They discuss many topics such as that amazing artwork on Josef's ceiling, shopping for Mick's pad, job duties, etc.

The top photo is an interior shot of Mick's apartment. The second image is of Beth's desk at Buzzwire.

M & C :

I love the bookcase and want to buy or make one for my new library. Any suggestions?

Chris :

Of course, Mick's bookcase is custom built. It was designed by our production designer Alfred Sole and is (as most of Mick's place) a defining part of the set.

M & C :

Who did the artwork in Josef's [Jason Dohring's] office / condo on his ceilings and walls?

Chris :

The artist is Alex Gross. We came across an art book of his and really felt it had the right flavor for Joseph. We wanted to make a large statement in Joseph's office and also hint at his age as a vampire. With the show being set in LA and wanting to keep a very contemporary edge to it, the challenge came in defining the characters. With Joseph, it came down to grand scale. And what could be grander than a painted ceiling a la the Vatican.

M & C :

Where do you find the decor for Alex's home, and how do you decide what items "go" or "fit" with each character?

Chris :

When I started prepping the show there were many discussions as to how our vampire's live. We wanted to keep the show very contemporary and and imply that vampires do live among us and on the surface you might not recognize anything out of the ordinary at first glance. With Mick's loft I chose some pieces from Cisco Home, Design Within Reach, Diva, Sonrisa, and other small shops around LA. The idea was to keep Mick's very clean and simple. He has been living long enough that he has his life style down to a sort of routine and it is unnecessary to have a lot of excess. And though he does most of his business at night, and simple lines often times feel colder, we tried to keep it warm with our color pallette.

M & C :

What is your favorite set on "Moonlight" and describe why?

Alfred :

Mick’s Loft is really the centerpiece of our permanent sets and is definitely my favorite. The idea of the show was to put a modern spin on the vampire genre, so I wanted the sets to reflect that. In addition, Mick was born in 1922 so he has had time to acquire plenty of worldly knowledge, including an appreciation of art and design. Therefore, his living space had to reflect a lifetime of experience as well as a contemporary aesthetic that fit the look of the show. Other fun aspects of the set are the kitchen, complete with a hidden blood storage compartment, and the freezer room where Mick sleeps in a stainless steel, glass top freezer.

Alex O'Loughlin in TV Guide's Hottest New Faces Video ~ again!

I am liking TV Guide more and more! :> Time to thank them again. Back in early November, I told you that they had included Alex O'Loughlin & Sophia Myles on their TV's Hottest New Faces list. They have repackaged and re-released the footage of Alex in a Hottest New Faces Part 2 video. It also has Michelle Ryan (Bionic Woman), Damian Lewis & Sarah Shahi (Life), Bret Harrison & Missy Peregyrm (Reaper). Sophia is not among those featured this time out. :( Even though we have seen it before ~ remember him being modest about the hunk label and talking about having bed head ~ we don't mind watching it again, huh? *wink* After all, it is almost Friday and we need a Mick Fix!

Air dates for Moonlight's final two episodes

Rumor has it the final two completed Moonlight episodes will air as follows.....

Love Lasts Forever ~ episode #1x11 ~ January 4th, 2008

The Mortal Cure ~ episode #1x12 ~ January 11th, 2008 ~ season finale depending on the writer's strike.
