US Weekly Magazine (February 9th, 2009 issue) has a small blurb about Moonlight due to the season one reruns currently airing on the Sci-Fi Channel. Alex O'Loughlin is singled out for special mention. They gave Moonlight a rating of 3 out of 4 stars. YEA! It is great to see our show receiving press coverage :)

Jeanne Wolf, from Parade Magazine, recently interviewed Sophia Myles while she was on her press tour promoting the US release of the new movie, Mister Foe. Moonlight fans are mentioned in the first paragraph of the article!
Sophia Myles On Her First On-Screen Kiss

Scottish beauty Sophia Myles makes the transition to Hollywood as she branches out into more rebellious and edgy roles. She received a cult following in the vampire series Moonlight — fans unsuccessfully petitioned for its return after it was canceled in May.
And she’s out to capitalize on her high-profile big screen romance with James Franco in Tristan and Isolde. She has a juicy role in the dark drama Mister Foe in which she co-stars with Jamie Bell. Then she joins Jim Caviezel in the sci-fi epic Outlander playing a Viking princess.
Q: In Mister Foe you have some pretty sexually explicit scenes. Was that uncomfortable for you?
Sophia Myles : I’ve always been very, very particular about nudity and sex in the movies I do because I think a lot of the time it’s very gratuitous, especially when a female is involved. So I’ve been very strict. I think the scenes in this film are of a sexual nature but they are not sexy at all. Actually, I quite enjoy keeping my clothes on. I don’t even like looking at my naked bottom in a mirror.
Q: Ever feel a little silly?
Sophia Myles : I did in Tristan and Isolde when another actress and I had to take off our clothes and hug a naked James Franco to thaw him out after he nearly froze to death. We found it so funny we couldn’t stop laughing. I think we did about 60 takes.
Q: Do you remember your first on-screen kiss?
Sophia Myles : I think Johnny Deep was one of the first. People think that it’s all so glamorous and sexy, but actually it’s so different than how it is in real life. You’re not doing it for real. It’s all fake. And most of the time you’re just conscious of the camera and hoping that you don’t look like you have a double chin or something.
Q: You were in a very high profile relationship with David Tennant who is famous as Dr. Who. How has it been since that ended?
Sophia Myles : I think when I was younger I was kind of looking for somebody to come along to complete me. And I’ve realized now that I have to basically be complete — I have to complete myself. And then the right thing will come. I’m enjoying the single life. I’m enjoying taking this time for myself because I think it’s important.
Q: Could you call that growing up?
Sophia Myles : As I’ve gotten older, the more I learn about myself and the more work on myself I’ve done. I’m more conscious of my needs and wants. And I’ll probably be more vocal now than I would’ve been. People pleasing, I guess, is one of my character defects, but I’m trying to not do that so much because it’s not very good for me.
Q: You’ve been spending a lot of time in L.A. How are you adapting to Hollywood?
Sophia Myles : I’ve had two major waves of homesickness that have lasted for about a month each time. And I understand now why they call it homesickness because you do actually feel quite ill. L.A. can be quite an isolating place because of the car culture. The one thing I miss about Europe is being able to just walk everywhere. And so I find that your world can become quite small when you’r e in your car.
Q: Was it fun to be a Viking princess in Outlander?
Sophia Myles : It was great to go back in time again after Tristan and Isolde because this time I get to kick some butt. I did loads of sword fighting and I had to get very fit. It’s set in 709 AD but on page two of the script, an alien ship crash lands so it’s kind of a mixture of old period drama meets science fiction.

Enterprising Moonlight fans are getting the word out to various media outlets about our efforts to save our show! Tim Surette ( from TV.com ) has written an article regarding the DirecTV campaign.
Rumor: DirecTV looking at adopting Moonlight

Could the vampire drama be saved by the same people who saved Friday Night Lights?
There are hardcore fans, and there are hardcore fans. The guy with the Dwight Schrute bobblehead doll on his desk? He's kind of hardcore. Moonlight fans? They're really hardcore.
Moonlight fans are attempting to pull a Jericho with the recently canceled vampire drama, making it undead. They've put the line out there in attempts to hook a new network or television provider for Moonlight, and it looks like they may have at least a nibble.
According to Moonlight fan site Moonlight Line, which is attempting to resurrect the show, DirecTV has inquired about possibly picking up the program. Though DirecTV may seem like an odd choice--basic-cablers such as Sci Fi Channel seemed possible destinations--the satellite service has already acted as life preserver for another well-loved drama treading water.
In April, it was officially announced that DirecTV had reached a deal with NBC to keep Friday Night Lights on the air. The unique arrangement would see DirecTV have first-airing rights, with NBC rebroadcasting the show four months later.
It's unclear what DirecTV has plotted for Moonlight, but the company is apparently interested in at least considering something. According to one of the board's higher-ups, DirecTV asked the site to post a poll asking what members thought of DirecTV sponsoring the show. The poll is up with the following three answers: "No problem, I already have DirecTV," "I'll switch to DirecTV in a hot second," and "Not switching."
The results of the simple market research would then be looked over by DirecTV who would determine if any of this makes financial sense. As of press time, 21 percent said they already have DirecTV, 71 percent said they would switch, and seven percent said they wouldn't switch.
This is great news for Moonlight fans, but probably best to hold off on hosting a bloodsucking party until something official comes out.

Local fans of the canceled CBS vampire drama "Moonlight" plan to have a picnic. In the daylight.
Fans will gather outside the Schenley Park visitor center, 12-4 p.m., Saturday.
"Come help us support 'Moonlight,'" says a release put out by local fan Dorothy Jadlowiec and her granddaughter. "There will be donuts, cold drinks and lots of people who love a certain, sexy vampire, his lovely lady and his snarky but lovable friend!"
But why in daylight? And why at Schenley Park and not in front of KDKA where they'd get a lot of attention since the Three Rivers Arts Festival has set up shop in front of the station's Gateway Center HQ?
Jaclowiec, who is 80 and lives in California, Pa., said fans chatting online made plans to meet in parks across the country (Central Park in New York and Griffith Park in Los Angeles).
"We didn't want to be that obvious," she said of the notion of rallying in front of KDKA. Besides, the campaign to get the show renewed has moved away from CBS. Now fans are encouraging Sci Fi Channel and DirecTV to give the show a shot.
"We're getting four or five people from the area and people are bringing people," she said. "We're getting a contingent from Ohio because they didn't get their act together."
Jadlowiec said she's one of the show's older fans; most top out in their 50s or 60s.
"My grandkids have been in awe since I got pages on Facebook and MySpace," she said. "My kids call it, 'What is Grandma up to now?'"
And how did she become a local "Moonlight" leader?
"I opened my big mouth," she said.
Jadlowiec, who goes by the name Arabella online (she also writes an Internet magazine devoted to classic films), said fans will not be wearing fangs at their rally Saturday.
"But we will be wearing shirts" devoted to "Moonlight," she said. "I got my 5-year-old great-granddaughter a shirt that says, 'It's Friday night, do you know where your vampire is?'"

San Francisco Moonlight fan rally ~ Saturday, June 14th
Can't turn my brain off. I thought I would spend a little time with Moonlight and you :)
Plus..... there is great positive news to pass on. As you know, there are Moonlight fan rallies planned all over the country this Saturday. The San Francisco Bay gathering is already receiving wonderful press attention from InsideBayArea.com.

In addition to the event in Berkeley, there are picnic rallies scheduled this weekend in New York’s Central Park, downtown Orlando, Portland, Dallas, Pittsburgh and Los Angeles.
The picnics are all part of a grssroots campaign targeting the Sci-Fi Network to pick up the show and DirecTV to underwrite production costs. For more info on the campaign, click here.
