Holly Valance to guest star on new tv show, Valentine

Holly Valance played the delectably dangerous Vampiress Lola on Moonlight. As you know, she is also the real life girlfriend of series star Alex O'Loughlin. Holly is guest starring in a new tv show called Valentine. It airs on the CW Network. Her episode, Act Naturally (#1x03), will be shown on Sunday, October 19th @ 7:00 pm Central/8:00 pm Eastern.

The brief, official synopsis for Valentine ~ A family of Greek gods brings soulmates together, while keeping their true identities as deities a secret.

Info about Holly's episode & character.........

Posing as lawyers, the Valentines save a movie starlet (Holly Valance) from jail time and get her a community-service assignment at a struggling theater. The actress' soul mate is the theater's owner (Ryan Devlin), who has doubts about her work ethic. Meanwhile, Phoebe breaks into Kate's apartment to find proof that she can't be trusted.

Photograph ~ Vivi Langdon (Holly Valance), Kate Providence (Christine Lakin) & Danny Valentine (Kristoffer Polaha) in a scene from the CW television series Valentine.

UK's Daily Star mentions Holly Valance and Moonlight

Moonlight's B.C. episode (#1x06) will air in the UK on Tuesday. The Daily Star did a blurb about Holly Valance who appears as the stunning Lola in that particular episode. Unfortunately, they had a few issues... such as calling Beth BAth and saying Mick is a lawyer. Hmmmmm... I wonder if the writer has ever watched the show. It is good to see Moonlight being mentioned by the media tho.

KINKY HOLLY VAMPS IT UP FOR NEW SHOW

FANGS are looking up for Holly Valance.

She has landed the role of a sexy vampire in new series Moonlight.

Former soap star Holly, 24, plays sultry Lola in an episode of the show on March 25.

Lola is a 500-year-old bloodsucker who comes under suspicion when party-goers who visit her nightclub end up dead.

Sticking her nose into the investigation is TV reporter Bath – played by David Tennant’s ex-love, Sophia Myles, 27.

Holly, who played Felicity “Flick” Scully in Neighbours for three years, enjoyed getting her teeth into her new role. But, there might just be another reason why she joined the show.

Her boyfriend Alex O’Loughlin, 31, happens to have the lead role in the series – on Living TV on Tuesdays at 10pm – as lawyer Mick St John, who is also a secret vampire.

Fan Video ~ Whatever Lola Wants ~ Tribute to Holly Valance as Lola

A fan video about my bad girl Vampiress Lola! Lilly uses the "awesome" scenes from Holly Valance's performance in Moonlight's B.C. episode (#1x06). She even creatively incorporates clips from Beth's attempted seduction of Mick to make it appear that Lola is the one seducing him. Of course, the song is Whatever Lola Wants by Sylvia Pilar. I really hope we see more of Dolores Maxford Whitaker, & the stunning Holly, on our show!

I couldn't resist using "awesome" because of Lola's quote ~ "Evil's a word that gets tossed around a lot... like great or awesome," which is a favorite of mine :>

Moonlight's Australian television ratings for Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

Last night, Moonlight reached its highest ratings yet in Australia! The B.C. episode (#1x06) aired on Wednesday, January 16th and brought in 834,000 viewers. Moonlight won its time slot and moved up to #11 on the Australian television ratings chart. *cheer* Perhaps, part of the reason for the increase is due to the audience being excited to see Aussie stars & stunning couple ~ Alex O'Loughlin and Holly Valance. However, I think the main cause is that they are falling for Moonlight just as we have :)

Photo : Holly Valance as Lola and Sophia Myles as Beth Turner. I like this picture of Alex's ~ Mick's ~ women.... in real life & on tv. ;>

Moonlight airs on Wednesday nights, at 9:30 PM, on Channel Nine in Australia.

Alex O'Loughlin and Holly Valance Interviewed by Australia's TV Week Magazine

Moonlight's B.C. episode (#1x06) will air this Wednesday, January 16th, 2008 in Australia. In advance of that, Australian magazine TV Week has published an interview with Alex O'Loughlin and Holly Valance. It is a brief article but the reporter, Jenny Cooney Carrillo, asks great questions. I saw the interview mentioned on TV Week's website, but they did not publish it online. :( So, I emailed my friend Alida. She ran out to buy the magazine & sent scans to me. Thank you, Alida!!! :)

You probably know, aside from being Alex's beautiful girlfriend in real life, they also chatted with Holly because she plays the lovely & lethal Lola in B.C. I like the "bad" girls. As I wrote at the time this episode aired here, I hope we haven't seen the last of Dolores Maxford Whitaker!

Holly reveals that she originally tested to be one of the main female characters ~ Beth Turner or Coraline. That would have been very interesting! I think she could have handled either part easily.

There is a tiny spoiler given away by Alex in this question and answer session. Bad boy! Just wanted to mention that for our Aussie readers who have not had the pleasure of seeing this episode yet. :)

Love Bites ~ Blood sucking & fangs are par for the course in Alex O'Loughlin and Holly Valance's relationship

Question : What is it like being famous in Hollywood?

Alex O'Loughlin : It's a little bit scary actually. On the Warner Bros lot where we shoot the show, we have these VIP tours on golf carts and a few fans have gone crazy seeing me outside the sound stage. I did a charity event last weekend and 40 women flew in just to meet Mick St John!

Question : How did they react?

Alex O'Loughlin : There was a lot of yelling and shaking and I've never experienced that before. In Australia, occasionally someone would pat me on the bum and say, "Good work in such and such," but people here seem to be overwhelmed by the show and the character. It's weird, it's really great that people love the show because we work really hard.

The reporter must have interviewed Alex right after his public appearance at the Toys for Tots event at Pole Position, a few weeks ago. I do know that several super Moonlight fans traveled all the way from Chicago to Corona, California to see him. Poor guy was startled by all the swooning! ha!

Question : How did you wind up working with Holly?

Alex O'Loughlin : The truth is I had nothing to do with her getting the role. I got a call as we were approaching the episode and the producers said, "Just to let you know, Holly will be playing Lola." So I called Holly because I didn't even know she was reading for the role and said, "Honey, guess what?" and she said, "Yeah, I know!"

Question : Why did she keep it from you?

Alex O'Loughlin : Holly is a woman of great integrity and she's very special. I can't believe how mature she is for her age (Alex is 31 years old & Holly is 25) and she just felt that I didn't need the distraction. She also felt it was very important that if she was going to get a job that had any sort of association with me, she needed to do it completely of her own accord - and she did.

Question : How was it working with Holly - especially as your characters have a fight scene?

SPOILER!

Alex O'Loughlin : I was wondering if it would be weird, but it was totally comfortable. And the great thing is they've killed her character off ambiguously, so you never know - she may come back!

Question : How was it playing a 500 year old Vampire?

Holly Valance : I had a lot of extra hair and fangs and milky contact lenses, so it was cool but also quite frightening. It was unlike anything I'd ever done acting-wise.

Question : How did you get the role?

Holly Valance : I'd tested for the two leads on the show when they were originally casting, so the producers knew me and put me on hold for the role. I decided not to say anything and see what Alex would say. When he called and said, "I've got good news, don't freak out." I just said, "That's great, babe. I found out four days ago!"

Question : What was it like working together?

Holly Valance : I was nervous for the first 15 minutes, but once we got into it, I switched from being Holly to becoming Lola and just had fun.

Question : Tell us more about the fight!

Holly Valance : The crew were saying, "You guys are going to kill each other! You're really going for it, aren't you?" We were both trying to outdo each other.

Can you imagine how fun it would be to hang out with Holly & Alex? They sound happy with each other. I like that :) Click on the images above to see a large, readable version of the interview... and to check out the great photos of Mick St John, Lola and Beth Turner.

Moonlight can be seen every Wednesday night at 9:30 PM on Channel Nine in OZ.

Interview with Moonlight's costume designer, Salvador Perez

Spork Fashion did a great interview with Salvador Perez, the costume designer for Moonlight. He talks about updating the Vampyre wardrobe and not being stereotypical. Finding clothes that convey the age and wealth of Josef and Coraline, while also outfitting our youngster Mick in “glam goth.” As well as the change when it comes to dressing the only human star of the show.

I like this photo of Salvador with Alex's women ~ the stunning Lola, also known as his real life girlfriend Holly Valance, and beautiful Beth. Of course, I had to include a picture of Mick in "the same thing he always wears" (as Beth pointed out in the B.C. episode). We have had lots of discussions about how amazing he looks in those shirts... or ripping them! Thank you, Salvador for those Henley's! In a quote from the article, he even mentions the shirts by name. “Mick doesn’t look good in crew-neck shirts,” Salvador says, “so he is always in collared shirts and henleys. He’s a vampire - it’s always about the neck.” However, I do not believe that Alex could look bad in anything. :)

Lola!

If you missed Moonlight tonight and do not want to know anything at all about it until you can watch ~ you probably should not read this post! :>

SPOILER ALERT!

Lola is so gorgeous and BAD...... I love her! Did you recognize who played the powerful Vampiress? None other than Alex O'Loughlin's girlfriend, Holly Valance. She did an excellent job. Sometimes we like our Vampyres to use their abilities for good ~ and sometimes it is exciting when they use them for evil.

I really enjoyed seeing more of Josef in this episode. His persistent knocking on Mick's freezer to wake him was great. The banter between them, and Mick's teasing, made me laugh. What a lovely way to start the show! Show writers take note ~ spending a long period with a shirtless, dreamy Mick is the best choice for any scene. It almost made up for the week of waiting for a new episode!

Sophia did a wonderful job with Beth's experiment with the "Black Crystal" vamp blood drug. Er... uhhh... only for research purposes. *wink* Talk about lowering your inhibitions! Mick is too principled to take Beth's offer while she is on the drug. Plus, he is trying to deny himself because sex with a human doesn't end well in his view..... for now! I like how tempted he was to accept though. That shower may have been with cold water, but it was still hot.

When Mick "killed" Lola, my immediate thought was that he did not make sure she was really dead. After all, she is an old and obviously power filled vamp. Josef (who is 400) did not even know her exact age, but she is older than he. A Cougar! ha!

I hope they bring her back. It would make an interesting story down the road for her to reappear in Josef's life. She has such a hold on him. Which is why he had to send Mick after her. I do not think he could resist Lola, even after this.
