Moonlight won the Saturn Award for Best Television Series Release on DVD! *cheer*

Moonlight's DVD nominated for a Saturn Award

The nominees for this year's Saturn Awards have been announced. Our show is on the list. Specifically, Moonlight's DVD is up for an award :)

Other Vampire fan faves were also nominated........... Twilight for Best Fantasy Film. Folks from the film Let The Right One In received 3 nominations ~ The movie for Best International Film, Lina Leandersson for Best Performance by a Younger Actor and John Ajvide Lindqvist for Best Writing. HBO's True Blood is in the Best Syndicated/Cable Television Series category and the show's star Anna Paquin for Best Actress in Television. Finally, the New Orleans and Vampyre themed TNT tv movie The Librarian : The Curse Of The Judas Chalice scored a spot for Noah Wiley in the Best Actor in Television category.

Winners will be announced on Thursday, June 25th, 2009.

Sophia Myles nominated for SyFy Genre award

Our Sophia Myles has been nominated in the Best Actress/Television category of the SyFy Genre awards for her work as Beth Turner..... of course :) *cheer* The awards are given by the SyFy Portal website.

Unfortunately, she is the only nominee from Moonlight. While I'm happy for Sophia, I'm shocked that no other members of our cast were considered worthy.

Jason Dohring does an incredible job with the role of Josef. His line reads are always spot on! He makes us laugh, and yet can easily bring us to tears.

Shannyn Sossamon is also wonderful as Coraline. She took on the task of playing the "villain" with grace, and made her a nuanced character that many of us loved & others loved to hate. ha!

The complete surprise to me is no nomination for Alex O'Loughlin. How can you watch Alex as Mick St John and not see what an amazing actor he is?!?!? Obviously, he's the most talked about and impressive break out star of the season. I just don't understand him being left out.

For that matter, Moonlight itself more than deserved to be selected to compete in the Best Series/Television category! Our cast, writers & crew created a show that mesmerized millions of addicted fans despite being a freshman series in a Writer's Strike ravaged season and so on.

I'll stop ranting for the moment.........

Back to Sophia's nomination ~ The voting begins on June 25th, 2008. You will be allowed to vote for her once daily until July 25th, 2008. SyFy Portal will announce the winners as part of their 10th anniversary festivities in August. So, get ready to vote your fingers off for Sophia & spread the word!

It's been a week since we had an image of Bones' David Boreanaz on PopWatch (and even though Abby West’s Mini TV Watch will post in a few hours, I can’t wait). So, tell us: Can Boreanaz (Special Agent Seeley Booth) and Emily Deschanel (Dr. Temperance Brennan) compete for the title of TV's Best Chemistry? To be clear: "Chemistry" is not limited to "sexual tension" (although I'm willing to bet the clip below, from the Bones pilot, is what scored that series its original pickup). In our book, it also describes the shared sense of timing that makes Calista Flockhart (Kitty McCallister) and Sally Field (Nora Walker) a joy to watch on Brothers & Sisters; that's earned James Spader (Alan Shore) and William Shatner (Denny Crane) each Emmys for Boston Legal. Because we're looking for the best chemistry in TV history, feel free to nominate classic duos like The Dukes of Hazzard's James Best (Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane) and Sorrell Booke (Boss Hogg). We'll even accept James Best and the basset hound that played Flash, if you can make your argument in 75 words or less...

CBS video congratulating their People's Choice Awards nominees

CBS created this video to congratulate their shows and stars that were nominated for People's Choice Awards. It includes CSI (original in Las Vegas), The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, Charlie Sheen, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Neil Patrick Harris and... of course... Moonlight! Among the show moments they chose to use is the scene in Fever (episode #1x04) of Mick telling Beth "It's a giant thrill ride that never ends." One of my favorite quotes.
