Spoiler ~ Recap of Moonlight's The Ringer episode (#1x07)

I am about to burst into my thoughts on tonight's Moonlight episode (The Ringer #1x07). If you haven't seen it, do not read any farther.

SPOILER ALERT!

At the start of the show, two firefighters were struggling to turn on a fire hydrant. I loved how Mick helped ~ casually turning it on with barely a flick of his wrist.

The build up to this Coraline focused episode was well worth it! Shannyn Sossamon is amazing as "Morgan" and Coraline. The mixture of the present along with 1950's flashbacks to when Mick fell for her was a good choice for the episode's structure.

Mick could not stay away from Coraline. Hurling a chair through her window because it stood in the way of him being with her. As I mentioned in the previous post, accompanied by a song that seems to be made for the scene (Kingdom by Dave Gahan). Chill bumps! Whoever selects the music for Moonlight deserves a raise. I hope they issue a soundtrack for the series.

Soooooooooooooo.... when The Ringer originally aired we were all debating.... does this mean that there is a "cure" for Vampirism? Mick and Josef could smell Morgan's humanity. Did Coraline become human again? Or, find a way to disguise her vampire scent? This is going to be good!

I was giddy when Josef and Mick went to work together. When they were about to break into the bad guy's house, Josef was obviously not happy about or used to the manual labor thing. "Can't we hire someone else to do this?" Rolling his eyes after Mick leaps to the roof ~ "Why don't you just let me in the door?" Ha! He was also a bit out of practice when it came to following Mick's jump.

We found out that Mick "killed" Coraline 22 years ago (1985). Josef was 4 years old in 1603. Looks great for his age. hehehe... Also, he knew Coraline for a 100 years before Mick. Interesting! He said she is capable of doing anything, which we know because of the whole Beth kidnapping thing.

Ooooo yea ~ Beth! I had almost forgotten about her. The dynamic between Mick and Coraline does not leave much room for others. Poor Beth! She was so jealous and couldn't hide it. I also liked that Mick told her he noticed. Funny how they both kept trying to convince everyone (and each other?) that they are 'just friends,' and protesting that she has a boyfriend.

Beth normally has Mick's undivided attention. When she was giving him details about her background check on Morgan, she reached out ~ placing her hand on his. Trying to regain that connection.

Since I am also addicted to New Orleans, I love that Coraline has a Fleur De Lis tattoo. Revealing it in the last scene! Excellent Cliffhanger!

In this video, HollywoodTV captured Shannyn Sossamon leaving West Hollywood restaurant, Madeo. She's sporting a shorter haircut since her days as our Coraline. It is good to see Shannyn!

Jason Dohring and Shannyn Sossamon move on to HBO

Speaking of new projects for our Moonlight cast..... Josef and Coraline have been hired to work on HBO, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Dohring, Burton, Sossamon and, Mescudi join casts

HBO is firming up the casts of its comedy pilots "Washingtonienne" and "How to Make It in America," adding Jason Dohring and Kate Burton to the former and Shannyn Sossamon and Scott Mescudi to the latter.

"Washingtonienne," based on Jessica Cutler's book, revolves around the professional and personal lives of three smart, sophisticated 28-year-old girls working on Capitol Hill.

Dohring will play Spencer, a senior legislative assistant for the same senator for whom Jackie (Rachel Taylor) works. Burton will play Joy, the senator's put-upon personal assistant.

Dohring ("Veronica Mars") is repped by Innovative Artists and manager Joel Stevens. Burton ("What Just Happened?") is repped by Gersh Agency and Principal Entertainment.

"America" centers on two enterprising downtown twentysomethings (Bryan Greenburg, Victor Rasuk) who hustle their way through New York determined to achieve the American Dream.

Sossamon will play Gingy, a gallery owner who is a close friend of the duo. Mescudi will play Domingo. Sossamon is repped by Paradigm.

GearCrave selects Shannyn Sossamon as their "Girl of the Week"

Our very own Shannyn Sossamon was featured as "Girl of the Week" by GearCrave (the men's buying and lifestyle guide). They used some fantastic photos of her. It was difficult to pick one. She’s starred in a long collection of thriller b-movies, romantic comedies and cameos. While she’s not yet hit a-list roles, we’re still happy having her as our own little secret.

She has been having a ton of fun if this video is anything to go by. *wink* The poor girl has been forced to work with George Clooney in a new MARTINI® television commercial. The ad will air on tv in Europe this summer. As George says, Shannyn is so beautiful. Oooooo.... and I like her shoes! I'm addicted to high heels :)

Mick and Coraline fight against Lance and his lackey vamp in this scene from The Mortal Cure (episode #1x12). I admire Mick's heart & character. Knowing that he can never hope to win as a human battling a Vampire ~ a extremely powerful one at that ~ he still steps up to the challenge. As I said, I like the flair with which he stakes Lance's subordinate vamp. He may be temporarily mortal, but our boy has still got moves!

Moonlight cast to appear at Fangoria's LA Convention ~ April 27th, 2008

The promotion push continues! I mentioned earlier that Alex & Jason will be at the New York Comic Con on 4/20, Alex is booked on The Early Show 4/21, the whole cast will be at the Paley Center Moonlight event on 4/22....... Now, it has been announced today that Alex O'Loughlin, Jason Dohring, Shannyn Sossamon and Sophia Myles will be appearing at Fangoria's Weekend of Horrors Convention in LA.
