Video ~ Josef turning Mick scene from Fated to Pretend (episode #1x13)

SPOILER ALERT! This video shows the scene of Josef Kostan turning Mick St John back into a Vampire in Moonlight's Fated to Pretend episode (#1x13). If you haven't seen the episode & don't want to be spoiled, do not watch this video!

Even after watching this scene over & over, I still get chills. It is emotional, sensual & unforgettable. Alex O'Loughlin & Jason Dohring are simply stunning. Do you realize this scene is only about 2 minutes long? They made the most of every second. Mick calling Josef "brother." We see what a powerful friendship they share. Alex allows that single tear to roll down his cheek. Jason shows the anxiety Josef feels in those first moments of waiting for Mick to accept his blood. You know he was thinking of his tragic attempt at turning Sleeping Beauty. Jason said the music was incredible in this scene, & he is so right. It is also an erotic scene. Hot! How did they pack so much into that small amount of time!?

I could write on & on, so I must restrain myself.

Recap of Moonlight's Fated to Pretend (episode #1x13)

SPOILER ALERT! This is my little recap of thoughts from tonight's Fated to Pretend (episode #1x13). Don't read if you haven't watched it yet :)

Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo my! I am overwhelmed. Can't believe the episode is already over.

WORTH THE WAIT!

All of our Fated to Pretend spoilers were correct. However, that did not stop the surprises or enjoyment of the show!

We have all discussed Beth wearing Josh's engagement ring to his funeral, her guilt & blaming Mick. Glad they addressed those issues at the beginning of this episode. Beth apologizes to Mick, which she should. She also says what we all did.... Josh wouldn't have wanted to be turned. She tells Mick she wouldn't have accepted Josh's marriage proposal because "there is someone else... and has been for a while." Hmmmmmm.... wonder who she means *grin*

Great humor tonight..... especially from our Josef and Logan. Jason Dohring & David Blue know how to put just the right spin on their lines.

As Beth pointed out, Mick was also much happier and showing off more of his sense of humor. Alex O'Loughlin is such a talented actor. Look at how he shared with us the difference between Vampire Mick and human Mick. Even his voiceover work was different. A lesser actor would not be up to the task.

Mick admits to Josef that he is in love with Beth. Josef is completely unsurprised. But.... Mick doesn't tell Beth that he loves her.

Poor Mo! And poor Beth. Yet another person close to her dies.

Eric Winter makes his entrance as the new ADA Benjamin Talbot. He is much, much hotter than Josh. We knew he wasn't gonna like Mick. You could feel the tension in the air.

Guillermo wasn't to thrilled about being stuck with that A+ he stocks up on for Mick. Jacob Vargas had much more of a presence in tonight's episode. He made the most of it ~ "starts with a V... you used to be one"

Loved the banter between Mick and Beth. When they broke into Maureen's place.... Beth ~ "Breaking and entering was more fun when you were a Vampire." I agree with her about the "sexy Vampire jumping thing."

The Logan scenes were soooooo funny! Mick and Beth walk in with the cat.... Logan ~ "Since you brought lunch." Mick figures out the key to Mo's encription is the cat's name, Travis.... Logan ~ "We shall never speak of this again."

Josef is part of a story Mo was working on due to a charity scam. Mick ~ "Josef probably murders ever day." *grin* Then, when they confront Josef he mentions his bodies ending up in the tar pits. I like the way he handles business! Mick wants to speak to the pr man in charge of the charity. Josef ~ "remember the tar pits" hahahahaha......

Or, when Josef says it's like "role playing without the leather."

I could quote practically the entire episode. Must stop!

Mick doesn't stop stepping up to save people just because he is human.... and could die himself. Look at him on that roof with Bonnie. He finds it exhilarating! Beth has a great line there ~ "I'm not used to worrying about you like this."

Bad vamp, Dr Anders, obviously has the ability to tell blood types. Comes in handy for his little biz of selling special ones. Incredibly icky when he licks Beth. Ewwwwww! Since Mick tasted her blood before but didn't realize her rare blood type, it seems that Moonlight vamps can have different powers. That is common in most vamp lore.

I completely understand why Jason Dohring was emotional for several hours after the scene where Josef turns Mick. Very well done! Jason & Alex do amazing work together. Vamping out to show his currently human friend Mick that he can not hope to take on a Vampire. The expression Alex gave when Mick admits to himself that he has to be a vamp to save Beth was heartbreakingly perfect. Who didn't get teary eyed during that scene as Josef says he would be taking something from Mick that he had always wanted... his returned humanity. "Forgive me!" He has heard for YEARS how much Mick hates being a vamp. Yet he has to be the one to take that away from his friend. At least, Mick makes the choice himself this time. I'm sure Josef will take comfort in that. As for the actual turning..... *swoon* Sensual does not even begin to cover it! If you didn't dream of being turned before, this scene surely changed your mind. I could not breath! HOT!

Mick willingly became a Vampire this time.... to save "my Beth."

LOVED the fight scene! My action girl heart is still beating fast over that. Our first time seeing Josef vamp out and fight. Plus, Mick relishing his powers. "It is SO on!"

Even tho Talbot was blindfolded, he could still hear the hissing and fighting going on around him. He knows that Mick came to their rescue. The same Mick that he thought was dead. You know he is not going to let this go.

Our final scene! I will say it again..... Moonlight gives its fans the best last act of any television show out there! Mick and Beth still had their rooftop picnic date despite him being a vamp again. He couldn't join her in eating, but did drink the wine. I'm glad Beth stood up for herself & their possible relationship.

That kiss.... Can you imagine Mick grabbing you, spinning you around and kissing you like that?! What am I saying, of course you can *wink* How romantic and sexy!

If I were Beth, there is no way NO WAY you could have gotten me to leave Mick like that.

Beth ~ "You may have forever, but I don't."

Music from MickBeth's romantic rooftop date in Fated to Pretend (episode #1x13)

Fated to Pretend (episode #1x13). Our first new episode in months and Moonlight is right back in the groove of giving us the best final scene in the business! The music used as the soundtrack for Mick and Beth's romantic rooftop picnic.... date.... talk..... KISS.... is Lucky by Bif Naked. Video above.

Video ~ Scene of vamp doc licking Beth from Fated to Pretend (episode #1x13)

SPOILER ALERT!

Unusual Blood Type ~ CBS has released the scene of Mick, Beth and Ada Talbot questioning the vamp doctor in Fated to Pretend (episode #1x13). It shows the fight and then the disgusting moment of Dr Anders licking Beth and realizing her rare blood type. YUCK!

Entertainment Weekly's Pop Watch Duel ~ Jason Dohring vs Alex O'Loughlin

In one of my previous posts Mandi mentioned an upcoming Moonlight related PopWatch Duel, when she wrote about meeting Alex O'Loughlin at the NY Comic Con. The duel is here.... proving yet again how witty our boys are! Who do you think gave the best answers? My head is still spinning from wicked thoughts after Alex said "sex toys!" ;>

PopWatch Duel: 'Moonlight''s Alex O'Loughlin vs. Jason Dohring
by Mandi Bierly

You remember how the PopWatch Duel works: We ask two costars for their picks on a certain topic. You decide whose list is better by casting a vote in the comments section. They try to tell themselves that they don't care who wins.

In honor of Moonlight's return tonight with the first of four new episodes (Fridays, 9 p.m. ET/PT, CBS) we sat down with Alex O'Loughlin (left) and Jason Dohring (right) at New York Comic Con and asked them to each name five things that should live forever in pop culture. (They play vampires on the show. Get it?) Dohring's worried that O'Loughlin sealed the win with his first choice, but we think we've got ourselves a fair fight. Their responses...

Alex O'Loughlin

1. Velcro. I think we all know why Velcro is as great as it is. It's just terrific. You can stick an entire dining set to the roof. Very versatile: Shoes, nappies... sex toys. Whatever you need.

2. Monkey (aka Monkey Magic). The greatest thing that ever happened to television. It's a Japanese show [dubbed in English] about these characters Monkey, Pigsy, Sandy, and Tripitaka, and they fight wars against demons. Monkey was born in an egg on a mountain top, and he rides a cloud, and he has a staff that he keeps behind his ear and grows to full size. It's the best show ever. I thought I was Monkey when I was a kid. He wears this gold crown, and I'd wear one and stake vampires.

3. The Adidas shell toe triple stripe classic. Great sneaker. Get a pair. In any color you want. I prefer the black stripe on the white shoe. I'm shootin' for an endorsement deal. Go Adidas. Did I say "Go Adidas?" Adidas. Adidas. Adidas. Go Adidas.

4. The iPhone. It's revolutionized the way we live. It's a great Internet tool in your pocket. It's a global tool. I take my iPhone everywhere.

5. The mullet. I grew up in a mullet kind of world, a mullet-y school with mullet-y friends. I had several mullets over the years, so I have a longstanding personal relationship with the mullet and I'm ready to mullet anytime. I can mullet right now. RIGHT NOW.

Jason Dohring

1. Designer shoes. Look at these f'in shoes. [Points to his sneakers.] Gucci shoes. I got into designer clothes, dude, and once you get into it, you can't go back. I started kinda working out, and you wear a designer shirt, and you're like Dude, this feels like it wants to fit to your body. So, like, I don't have to work out as much, but it still looks good. It's great.... Alex is gonna take me shopping me later today, and I'm really excited about that. Apparently, he has a pair of Paul Smith flower shoes that he just bought, and he can actually pull them off 'cause he's Australian, you know, and they kinda do things that we don't do here in the States. I'm trying to get some fashion tips.

2. Love and morals. I was just thinking that I'd put a couple things on here that I thought were real. If those go out, our society's gone, dude. You wouldn't have families. It sucks to see so many people break up. It doesn't set a great example for people.... Love, even as friends — how enjoyable is a great conversation with a friend? There's nothing better, dude. You can buy all the whatever you want, but sitting around with a cigar and chattin' with my boy, here, is a really good time. We film till really late, so we'll sit around on the WB lot at 2 in the morning, when nobody's there, and just look up at the WB sign and go, "What the f--- are we doing here?" It's beautiful.

3. Scratch 'n Sniff stickers. That was from when I was a kid. The grape ones, man, I was really into those. I think those are dead, so let's bring 'em back, boys. And you had all the blond jokes about them, as well. "How do you a kill a blond? You put a Scratch 'n Sniff sticker at the bottom of a pool." [Silence] That was kinda lame.

4. The banjo. No, I don't play, but if you've ever seen a guy play the banjo or a fiddle really well, man, it's cool stuff. You wouldn't have Deliverance without the banjo. [Hums]

5. Veronica Mars. Unfortunately, it didn't last forever, but it seems when you walk around a place like Comic Con that it does. Art's the kinda thing that stays with people. You emotionally invest people and you emotionally invest yourself in something, and then it lasts. That's pretty amazing, actually, isn't it?

Okay, who wins the Duel? Alex O'Loughlin or Jason Dohring? Vote now!

Video interview ~ Alex O'Loughlin answers questions from Moonlight fans!

TV Guide's Matt Mitovich asked Alex O'Loughlin questions sent in by Moonlight fans! Very interesting that Alex says he and our show writers have different ideas about the future of MickBeth. He has such a vision for Mick, and has brought him to life for us. I don't want him to be unhappy with what happens and he has to portray. With all his hard work, I can't imagine that our writers would completely discount his input.

It's Moonlight Friday! TV Guide spotlights our show

It's Moonlight Friday! New Moonlight Friday, I should say. Can't believe it has finally arrived. We made it here together..... thank you :)

Moonlight Secrets Revealed
Ten things you need to know about CBS' sexy vampire drama

1. Immortally-Mortal? Vampires are immortal, but they can be killed. A stake in the heart will only paralyze a vampire but fire, decapitation, or breaking a vampire’s neck will kill them.

2. Perks of the Job: Vampires have increased strength, speed, healing, and senses — their sense of smell allows them to identify the scent of other vampires.

3. Quick Snacks: A Trip to the Store: Vampires need blood to survive, however most vampires live normal everyday lives and buy their blood from private sources (blood banks, hospitals, morgues). The majority of vampires do not feed on humans.

4. SPF 500 Recommended: Vampires can be in sunlight, but the longer they are exposed, the weaker they become, eventually resulting in death.

5. True Love Is Hard to Find: It is very rare for a vampire to turn someone into a vampire. A human is only turned for some special reason, such as love. However, the transformation can fail and result in death or a coma for the human.

6. Family by Marriage: Mick’s wife, Coraline (Shannon Sossamon), turned him into a vampire against his will in 1952 at the age of 30. In doing so she also made Mick a member of her family’s royal vampire bloodline.

7. Back Before He Made It: Mick may be considered young for a vampire, but he has already lived an eventful life – including fighting in the Battle of the Bulge during World War II.

8. I Know You from Somewhere… 23 years ago Mick saved Beth Turner (Sophia Myles) from Coraline. Now Beth works with Mick to solve both vampire and human crimes alike.

9. Friends in High Places: Mick’s best friend is Josef (Jason Dohring), a 400-year-old vampire billionaire playboy who’s always there to give Mick advice, or the keys to his Ferrari.

10. Those Fleeting Moments: The Cure is a secret compound that can temporarily turn a vampire back into a human. Mick recently took The Cure, causing both he and Beth to contemplate the future of their relationship.

SPOILER ~ New promo photos for Moonlight's What's Left Behind episode (#1x15)

SPOILER ALERT!

Alex O'Loughlin in uniform as flashback Mick St John! I can practically hear the *thudding* already ;> CBS released these new spoiler promo photos for Moonlight's What's Left Behind episode (#1x15).

We've been discussing all the possibilities for this episode..... like Mick going to his best friend's house to inform the wife of the friend's death in a WWII battle. In one of the photos, you can see the hand of someone else still sitting in the backseat of the taxi cab. The Army chaplin? Another possibility everyone has been speculating about is Mick "comforting" the wife and ending up with a mystery child. That is thanks to a comment that Alex made.

Sooooo many ways this story could go. We knew our writers were fantastic, but they are going all out with these four new episodes! I am torn cuz I can not wait to see them, and yet I also don't want to get to the last one.

As always, click on the images above for bigger versions of the photographs.

CBS affiliate interview with Alex O'Loughlin

Another affiliate interview for Alex O'Loughlin. This time with WDEF. Alex is so good at answering the same old questions from people who have never watched Moonlight. He is always gracious.

Video ~ Alex O'Loughlin gracefully handles wacky morning show interview

Early morning chat chit with Alex O'Loughlin. Moonlight is getting quite the promotional push. *cheer* Poor Alex obviously spent a lotta time nailed to a chair doing remotes with various CBS affiliates. He handles the satellite delay & the wacky morning show anchors from WJZ 13 with grace.

Even these guys realize how hot Alex is ~ "In America, we grow actors who look like Peter Falk and Danny De Vito..... they grow actors that look like Hugh Jackman and our guest this morning, Alex O'Loughlin." They go on to tell Alex about one of their wives who has a crush on him.

This video includes spoiler footage we have seen in Moonlight promos.

Video ~ Jason Dohring & Alex O'Loughlin talk to Best Week Ever

Best Week Ever's Michelle Collins & Max Silvestri were at the New York Comic Con. This video shows them chatting quickly with Heroes Milo Ventimiglia, X-Files Chris Carter... and for us... Alex O'Loughlin & Jason Dohring. Our vamps are the only ones they singled out for praise on their site, saying "Those Moonlight boys were a blast."

A quick Alex O'Loughlin interview with MSN UK

Alex O'Loughlin did a quick interview with MSN UK. He spoke to them at the Paley Center for Media's Moonlight event. Thank goodness our show's producers were smart enough to keep Alex when they recast all the other characters. He is definitely the man you want as the lead for your tv show!

Vampires out in Beverly Hills

Vampires ruled the night in Beverly Hills as fans got to meet the stars of US television show Moonlight.

And Alex O'Loughlin, who plays a vampire turned private investigator, was the man everyone wanted to see.

The Australian brought his girlfriend, former Neighbours star Holly Valance, to the Q&A held at the Paley Television Centre, where he revealed all about the joys of playing blood sucker Mick St John - a modern vampire with a heart.

"He does a lot of good things and he saves a lot of people, but I think he's still an animal. He still has this daily need for blood and he has to really hold himself back from being bad, there's always a tension," the actor said.

Alex revealed it had been a rocky road getting the show - which also stars British actress Sophia Myles - to air.

He said: "I didn't know what was going to happen because they fired everyone and then they told me I still had a job, then they changed the name of the show and then they said they weren't sure what they were going to do with it. I wasn't expecting anything but it certainly has changed, it's been a really exciting journey to watch it unfold and be a part of the process."

Moonlight currently airs in the UK on LIVING on Tuesdays at 10pm.

Sophia Myles interview from Moonlight's Paley Center for Media event

MSN UK has a short, fun inteview with Sophia from the Paley Center for Media's Moonlight event. I chuckled at her description of living in Los Angeles with & without a job, as well as her comment that "They don't want English blood." Also, I agree with her about Moonlight being renewed.

Sophia loves life in LA

British actress Sophia Myles says she's loved sinking her teeth into new US vampire show Moonlight, and says filming in Hollywood has been a "dream come true".

Speaking at a special Q&A with fans held in Beverly Hills, the actress said joining the cast had been amazing.

She said: "I was really excited to play an American. I've done so many period dramas that to play a contemporary girl that works 9 to 5 was interesting. Also to get the opportunity to work at Warner Bros Studios it's just a dream come true."

The actress added: "LA is a fantastic city, when you're employed here it's the most fabulous city in the world - when you're unemployed you want to commit suicide. I've had different times in my life and different relationships with this city, but right now it's rocking."

Sophia is confident that the show has earned a second series, saying: "I'll be shocked if there isn't [another season]. I'll be really disappointed in CBS if there isn't."

To show the networks how much they love the show, fans even gave blood in a special Red Cross drive in the reception area of the Paley Television Centre. Unfortunately, Sophia wasn't able to join in.

She said: "I'm not allowed to give blood. All of our fans are allowed to give blood to try and bring the show back, but I can't because I'm not an American citizen. They don't want English blood."

Moonlight airs in the UK on LIVING on Tuesdays at 10pm.

Video ~ A brief interview with Holly Valance

Holly Valance was interviewed by a UK reporter when she attended the Moonlight event at the Paley Center for Media last Tuesday night. The Nottingham Evening Post published the brief chat. Holly talks about working in Hollywood... and Alex jokes about what goes on at home with Mick's teeth.

Dating a vampire 'sucks', says Holly

Former Neighbours star Holly Valance has joked that dating a vampire "sucks".

The Aussie actress currently lives in LA with boyfriend Alex O'Loughlin - the star of spooky US vampire series Moonlight.

Holly turned out to support her man at a Q&A at the Paley Centre for Television in Beverly Hills, and joked that dating a blood sucker has its ups and downs.

"It sucks, isn't that the worst joke? No, it's fun," she said.

Alex joked: "Holly loves it - I've got teeth at home and we keep some blood in the fridge, all sorts of antics going on behind closed doors! She's great, she's really supportive, she's awesome."

While Alex has been filming, Holly revealed she's been taking things easy.

"At the moment I'm in hiatus, that's what I like to call my lazy times - in between jobs, auditioning. We've been away for Christmas for a few months and it was nice sitting at home on the beach," she said.

And she revealed she has no plans to return to Australia just yet as she's enjoying Tinseltown.

"Most of the time people love Aussies here and they also appreciate if you've done some hard time on a soap opera because it's kind of like a baptism of fire into the industry," she said.

"You work such long hours and it's such a tough gig. When you come here everything seems like you're coming into heaven on set here - in Neighbours we shared like a trailer with like 30 of us, here you get your own."

Video ~ Moonlight featured on CBS' The See List

CBS' The See List features Moonlight ~ and more specifically the hostess drooling over Alex O'Loughlin. Brianna says "My dream man is back! Moonlight returns with everyone's favorite Vampire, dreamboat Mick St John. This guy is so hot! But, watch out for those teeth. He gives a very serious hickey"

Am I hearing things, or did she call him Nick instead of Mick?

Our show appears around the 1:49 mark. This video contains spoilers from Moonlight's promo.

Alex O'Loughlin in TV Guide's Sexiest TV Stars Video

TV Guide has included Alex O'Loughlin in their Sexiest TV Stars video. DUH! I like his answer to what makes him feel sexy and I agree ~

"I think the person you're with makes you feel sexy, you know, like my girlfriend.... Being adored by someone else makes me feel sexy."

He says that being more well known & having people recognize his face has not changed the way he thinks. Still our down to earth, modest Alex!

Alex talks to TV Guide while doing a photo shoot. I wonder what it is for! He rolls up his sleeve to expose one of his lovely tattoos. Yea!

What do you think about his hair? Alex has said many times that he doesn't look anything like Mick St John in real life.

UK video interview with Sophia Myles at Moonlight's Paley Center Event

This video is of a quick interview that a UK reporter had with Sophia Myles at Moonlight's Paley Center event. Sophia talks about being excited to be portraying a modern girl, after all the period piece movies & tv shows she has been in, as well as getting the chance to work at Warner Bros studio.

UGO interviews Alex O'Loughlin

Underground Online has posted their new interview with Alex O'Loughlin. They met up with him at the NY Comic Con. Alex's description of Josef made me laugh out loud ~ Josef is like, "Dude, this is awesome. Let's bite some chicks. And spend some money." Not to mention, it is completely accurate!

They vaguely discuss a Mick & Josef scene from Fated to Pretend (episode #1x13), that some may consider kinda spoilery.

Alex O'Loughlin, Moonlight Interview
By Tod Emko

We met Alex O'Loughlin at New York Comic-Con and got the bite on his show Moonlight, Dracula, and the tastiness of chicks everywhere.

UGO: So did something attract you to the genre, or are you just a fantastic businessman who knew the show was going to blow up?

ALEX O'LOUGHLIN: Oh no, not at all. I mean I love the genre. So I had more passion. Also, I felt that Joel Silver being at the helm, it's easy to keep focused when you've got a guy like that doing what he does. He's efficient with time and he'll fight the fight, and he'll make sure everything's ok and the show stays on the air. So when you've got someone fighting as hard as he does at his end, at the top, every one of us will fight just as hard.

UGO: So if you're a big fan of the genre, do you geek out a lot? Are you a big vampire fan or a general scifi fan?

ALEX O'LOUGHLIN : No, I geek out about vampire stuff. I do love certain sci-fi, like I'm a big Blade Runner fan, you know I'm that level of sci-fi fan, that movie's just rad. Like, Tron is just awesome. I don't just lap it up. I mean, some of it's terrible. And, Star Wars is incredible. But yeah, I prefer the vampire genre moreso than any other supernatural thing. It's the king of supernatural. Vampires are raaaad.

UGO: Huh. Then what's your favorite vampire thing ever?

ALEX O'LOUGHLIN : Well, that's difficult because I mean, Nosferatu I have the utmost respect for, you know what I mean? But Bram Stoker's was just - Gary Oldman was, breathtakingly good. Then again, for boys, for the age I was when that came out, for what the film represented, that was really, really good. Then when I read the Anne Rice books, they were good as well, so it's all relative isn't it? I don't think I have one particular favorite, but I really liked the Anne Rice books, how she went and did it, how far she went with every character, so that's really helped me to give myself permission to go as far as I need to.

UGO: What do you like best about vampires then?

ALEX O'LOUGHLIN : Unbridled, unashamed passion and a lot of the sensuality of them. And the fact that they're so close to the animal kingdom. They're just like animals.

UGO: I'm getting the sense that in real life, if you someday became a vampire, you'd be like the Josef type of vampire, where you'd be like, "This is AWESOME being a vampire!" Rather than the Alex type of vampire.

ALEX O'LOUGHLIN : Yeah, I totally would, I'd totally be more like Josef. I'd be much more... hedonistic. [laughs] No, I think I'd just be more gregarious and more... I'd be better at it. You know what I mean? Than Mick. I don't think Mick is very good at being a vampire. I think he's kind of s*tty at it. And so reluctant, so nostalgic. Whereas Josef is like, "Dude, this is awesome. Let's bite some chicks. And spend some money." So yeah, I would be. I'm more of a lush.

UGO: So you'd like to take on more of the role of a vampire? Do more of the jumping and fighting on the show?

ALEX O'LOUGHLIN : Oh I do! I do all of that! I own my own harness, and I do a lot of my own stunts. I do a lot of my own wire works, a lot of the jumps, a lot of the fights.

UGO: Speaking of action, there's a scene between you and Josef that you know we have to address. I think you know which one it is (the one where Alex and Josef "share blood" in an intimate scene). Did you simply expect something like that to happen, this being a serious vampire drama?

ALEX O'LOUGHLIN : I think that scene, I think it's awesome, once you see it. It's on Friday night. Awesome. The thing with that scene is that I knew what was at stake since I read it, I knew how high the stakes were and how important that scene was, and how the drama and the choices were at an all-time high, you know what I mean? And that we had to really go for it, so I thought yeah, let's do it. And, we did. And I think the scene is fantastic. The on-screen chemistry between the two characters is truly powerful.

UGO: I see. Well, one question we have to ask everyone, is who do you think would win in a fight between a minotaur with a battle ax and a centaur with a crossbow.

ALEX O'LOUGHLIN : The minotaur. Because I feel like he could protect himself with the battle ax, and use it as a shield to an extent, and then getting close, and then it'd be all over. That battle ax would just tear through like butter.

Spoilers ~ Behind the scenes video interviews with Moonlight's cast

SPOILER ALERT!

This video is of Seat42f's behind the scenes interviews with Moonlight's Alex O'Loughlin, Jason Dohring, Sophia Myles and Eric Winter. I really love chats that take place on the set. It is super cool to see them filming what we are gonna soon be watching on tv :)

Lots of spoilers! Our first look at the wicked fight scene with vamped out Mick and Josef working together to battle the bad vamps. *cheer*

Sophia ~ "The ladies are gonna love this episode cuz the first time you see Mick and Beth they're having a picnic down on the beach in Malibu. And, Beth looks up to see Mick striding towards her, along the sand, with his shirt open. So, it's great!" Yes, Sophia.... we do kinda like that *wink*

Alex ~ "They haven't consummated yet, it's very close"

You know that I'm an action/adventure girl who gets a little too riled up by the vamped out scenes. hehehehe..... This will be our first time to see Josef in full Vampire makeup and fighting!

Alex ~ "I've got a big fight scene. I've gotta kick some ass. I have to! It's my duty as a Vampire private investigator. It's the only way I can save my Beth. So, I'm coming in to get my girl."

My Beth, my girl.... awwwwwwww... I like how Alex says that.

Jason ~ "We kinda come in in this scene and Butch Cassidy Sundance Kid kind of tear some ass up."

Sophia ~ "It's a thrill ride." As Mick would say, It's a giant thrill ride that never ends!

Spoiler ~ New CBS Moonlight Video ~ Vampire to Human

Spoiler Alert! This sneak peek promo shows scenes from Moonlight's next new episode, Fated to Pretend (#1x13), which will air this Friday, April 25th.

CBS has just released a new Moonlight video ~ Vampire to Human. "Mick enjoys the simple pleasures of human life"

It shows the polished version of the unedited scenes we saw a few days ago of Mick's morning routine..... shirtless Alex, waking up, brushing his teeth and so on. Now, instead of hearing a crew member saying "alarm" & reciting his lines, we get to hear Mick's voiceover.

This video is extended so that we see more footage from Fated to Pretend (episode #1x13). Mick driving in that sexy Mercedes convertible with the top down during the day! You know he must be enjoying that after all these years with the top down only at night. We also see him arriving at the beach, wolfing down a hot dog, getting looks from the girls on his way to meeting Beth. It appears that this will be the opening sequence that we see when Moonlight returns Friday.

Music used is the song Shine by Shannon Noll.... who happens to be Australian too.

Sneak peek SPOILER ~ Video of MickBeth kiss from Fated to Pretend (#1x13)

MAJOR SPOILER ALERT guys! And.... envy alert :>

Sneak peek promo..... This video is of Mick and Beth's kiss scene from Moonlight's next new episode ~ Fated to Pretend (#1x13). Oooooooooooooooooooooo my! Not just the small glimpse they gave us previously in the tv commercial. We see Mick spin Beth around, kissing her passionately at length! After the recent spoilers, we know this is the rooftop picnic where she tells him it isn't the fact that he's a Vampire that is keeping them apart ~ it is HIM! "Maybe you're right"

Wonder what song they will end up adding to underscore this pivotal scene?!?!?

If I were Beth, Mick wouldn't be able to pull back to say anything! And, Alex would be getting suspicious cuz I keep missing up the take so that we have to do the scene over and over again. hehehe...

*swoon*

Part 2 ~ Moonlight set interview with Alex O'Loughlin & Eric Winter

In Part 2, Movie Web publishes their on set interview with Alex O'Loughlin and Eric Winter. It is lovely to hear how welcome they made Eric feel. "Alex and Sophia run a really great ship as far as the cast goes. They are really warm. Starting from the top down, everybody has been really friendly and supportive." I am not surprised :) Be warned... there are spoilers included ahead.

The interviews were conducted while What's Left Behind (episode #1x15) was being filmed.

SPOILER ALERT!

Remember when we speculated about the possibility of Mick having a child from his pre-vamp life?! Hmmmmmm......

Moonlight Set Visit Part II: We Take a Stroll with Alex O'Loughlin and Eric Winter

On April 25th, 2008, Mick St. John is returning to your living room with a giant bag full of unexpected twists and secrets that will keep your water cooler conversations guessing throughout the summer. CBS plans to air four all new episodes of its hit series Moonlight over the course of the next four weeks, and it will all cumulate in one slam-bang breath-ceasing season finale. We recently headed over to the Warner Bothers lot to get the inside scoop on the second half of Moonlight's first season. While there, we interviewed all of the key cast members including Jason Dohring and Sophia Myles.

This time out, we got a change to speak with both Alex O'Loughlin and series newcomer Eric Winter. When we arrived, they were both busy working on episode fifteen, which sees Alex's Mick St. John transported back to World War II. It's a flashback, of course. But some pretty heavy secrets are revealed, and these plot threads will carry the show into one of the craziest season finales of the year.

Episode thirteen, which premiers this Friday at 9pm, picks up exactly where episode twelve left off. Mick is still mortal, and Beth is still angry with him for letting her fiance Josh die. Of course Mick won't stay human for long. The premise of the show is vampires. But he does get to have some fun in his corporeal skin. We see him enjoying orange juice for breakfast instead of blood, and there is a prolonged montage of him soaking in the sun. Sadly, all good things come to pass, and before this latest episode is over, Mick will once again be sucking on a donor bag. The big twist comes with how he is turned back into a vamp. It won't be the way you think. The protective salve he has applied to his skin doesn't wear off. No. Something much worse happens to the poor chap.

The way in which Mick is turned back into a vampire will have a dire effect on the entire structuring of the show. Certain roles will change, and relationships will become strained. Coraline will be returning, but not before the end of the season. We met up with Alex O'Loughlin behind a quaint family home decked out in forties regalia to get more information on the fate of his character and the entire series too boot. O'Loughlin showed up in his army uniform, his hair shorter than it has been during the duration of the program. He seemed in a rather cheery mood. Everyone on set seems to believe that Moonlight is definitely coming back for a second season next year.

Alex O'Loughlin : About my uniform today, Mick was a medic when he went into the army. He had basic overall training. That is what we will see in episode fifteen. This is where his firearm training is honed. We see him in battle, which is a reality for so many soldiers at war. A lot of my friends have been to battle in Somalia and the Gulf War. They have been to different parts of the world. They go in trained in one specific area, and they come out knowing a whole lot more. You experience a bunch of other stuff, because of the nature of what is going on. Some of the stuff we are dealing with in this episode is quite exciting.

If Mick was a medic during the war that means he was dealing with blood even before he turned into a vampire. Has that always been a main thing in his life?

Alex O'Loughlin : Yeah, absolutely. It still has a profound effect on him today. If you go back to episode eleven, when Josh's life is finished, and Mick has tried to save him? Part of what makes Mick unique is his ability to turn off his emotions and deal with what he has to deal with. There was so much blood. The urge to do what comes naturally to him can be subdued. That desire to drink the blood was right at the surface the whole time. So, he is no stranger to blood or body parts. He can control his natural instincts.

How did being a medic effect him as a vampire?

Alex O'Loughlin : I personally think that you make your own character decisions. And sometimes that stuff never makes it into the final cut of the show. One of the things I'd done a lot of thinking about was that Mick may have gone off and done a lot of research about hematology before becoming a Private Investigator. I think he studied up on it. He became educated in blood. This guy has such a strict set of morals. He doesn't kill for pleasure. Not any more. He gets his blood from a blood bank. He has structured this way of living. As a vampire that sits more comfortably with him. I'm sure it all has to do with his past. When he is consuming blood, he knows all about the cells. He knows the structure of the blood. A lot of vampires may not know about that stuff.

Where would you like to see Mick go to in the future. Do you think he and Beth should get together in season two?

Alex O'Loughlin : The minute he and Beth actually get together and consummate their love, it becomes a different story. At this moment, we still have the Romeo and Juliet thing going on. When this show was pitched to me, they said it was about a vampire P.I. I said, "Really?" I didn't think it would be good. But then I read it, and it is about so much more than that. It deals with epic ideas and themes. I think it has elements of Hamlet, it has elements of Romeo and Juliet. I think it has elements of a lot of big stories that have already been told. When we get together, that element will no longer be there. It won't be unrequited love anymore. That will push us in a different direction. Sure, we will deal with it. And it will be interesting, no matter what. Is that what I want to happen? I don't know. I really like the dramatic tension that is there because these two haven't had that physical and spiritual connection yet. Its funny. Where do I want this show to go? That depends on how long we've got. The limits to the storytelling possibilities are the limits to our imaginations. Because the ideas are so immense. We are dealing with immortality. And we have so much flashback work we can do. There are pieces of jewelry that Mick wears, that he has worn since the beginning of the show, that we haven't talked about yet. Those all come from different stories. There is stuff in episode twelve. All of the blood stuff, and that Mick comes from French royalty. Mick is involved with another bloodline. Does that make him more powerful? Does he have any new skills that he doesn't know about? Is he going to realize himself all over again, on a different level? I have lots of my own ideas. I walk into the writer's room, and they all go, "Oh, God!" The writers are the same as me. They feel there are so many ways we can go with this. I hope we get to season two, because there are just so many possibilities.

Do we see you engaged in combat in this episode you are shooting right now?

Alex O'Loughlin : Yes. Yeah, you see me in heavy combat with my best friend. A lot of this episode is based around that, and based around the fact that Mick may have a child that is alive today. And he would be about the same age as me. So, it is pretty heavy stuff.

We met up with series newcomer Eric Winter. He plays Assistant District Attorney Ben Talbot on the series. He is being introduced as a potential love interest for Beth, and a potential pain in the neck for Mick St. John. Here is our conversation:

Can you tell us about your character? He's new too the show, right?

Eric Winter : Yeah, he is ADA Ben Talbot. He is basically a good guy. We are learning more and more about him all the time. He is mysterious in that he is driven by his work. He will do anything to get the answers he needs in order to solve what is going on at the time. There is an interesting fondness he has towards Beth. I am learning about it as you are. Do you know what his motivation is towards Beth? Do you know? I think he was brought in for that reason. There may be a love connection there. Other than that, he is the assistant district attorney in town. While he is here to keep a little law and order, he is also here to mix up some personal lives as well.

Is he a vampire?

Eric Winter : No, not that I know of. That hasn't happened yet. Maybe I'll get turned one day.

Were you a fan of vampire mythology before coming onto this show?

Eric Winter : I was a big fan of Bram Stroker's Dracula. I love the mythology of it. I love the mythology of Dracula, and werewolves, and the mummy. It has always been fascinating to me. It is just a cool genre. I think they are real. I mean, wouldn't it be cool if they were? I dig the fact that this show is set in that tone and genre.

Coming onto the series, did you already know what was going on with the different characters, or did you have to play catch up really fast?

Eric Winter : I had seen some of the episodes early on. Then I started working on a couple of other things. It's terrible. Even though I do a lot of TV acting, I am not able to stay on track with a lot of shows. The stuff I had seen was because I knew some of the people that were on it. I loved what I was hearing about it. So I caught some of the earlier episodes when they aired. With the last couple, I have been playing catch-up. It was the strike that really screwed everybody up. But, yeah, I was a fan of the show before I arrived.

Was it a challenge coming on in the middle of the season?

Eric Winter : It can be hard, but in this particular situation it wasn't at all. They were extremely welcoming here. Alex and Sophia run a really great ship as far as the cast goes. They are really warm. Starting from the top down, everybody has been really friendly and supportive, which helps when you come in midstream like that. Especially towards the tail end, when a show is abruptly stopped such as ours was. This has worked out quite well despite that. Every show in this town is different. You are not always guaranteed a comfortable environment.

What do you hope to see happen with ADA Talbot?

Eric Winter : I can tell you what I hope to see, because I don't know a lot about what they have planned. I would love to see a little bit more insight into Ben Talbot. Who he is and why he has come around this situation. I understand that he is the assistant district attorney. And he is following up on the job of the last ADA. He is taking over in that sense, but I would like to see more insight into who he is. He is a very driven workaholic. I would like to see more with him and Beth. They are definitely headed in that direction. I am excited about that. I do want to see where that will go. I think Talbot will do anything. So there is no telling where he will go in order to screw with Mick. He definitely doesn't have any sort of loyalty to Mick. Maybe he wants to expose Mick, because the guy's business is constantly getting in the middle of my guy's stuff. Talbot wants to be the top dog, and any angle he can get to go at Mick he will take.

Moonlight returns this Friday, April 25th, at 9pm only on CBS.

Entertainment Weekly covers meeting Alex at the NY Comic Con

The lovely Mandi Bierly, at Entertainment Weekly's Pop Watch Blog, wrote a fab article about going to the NY Comic Con and meeting Alex O'Loughlin. Love her line about "Apparently, When you have an opportunity to be in the same room with Alex O'Loughlin, you take it is the second rule of journalism." Everyone is intoxicated just by being near the man. Fortunately, he uses his powers for good not evil.... hahaha!

Mandi's story is a nice little glimpse at how affable our Alex is to all who meet him. He "willingly" held the handmade sign she created for the photo above, and sent a greeting with it. We hear from Jason Dohring about how emotional a certain scene in Fated to Pretend (#1x13) made him. There is humor about he & Alex seeing the final cut of it tho. It is the same scene we read the boys joked about in a previous convention report. Reading this highlights again how lucky we are to have these amazing people creating our show!

Mandi also included a link to my little blog in her article. How nice is that? :)

Spoiler Alert!

'Moonlight' gets steamy(ier); I get star Alex O'Loughlin to pose for this hot photo!

Have you ever met a star that someone close to you just loves? And if so, did you find yourself asking that celebrity to do something for him or her?

Here's why I'm asking: In honor of Moonlight returning with the first of four new episodes on April 25 (CBS, 9 p.m. ET/PT), I suggested that I do one of my PopWatch Duels with Alex O'Loughlin, who plays Mick, and Jason Dohring, who plays Josef. (Look for it later this week.) When my colleague Michael Slezak found out that O'Loughlin and Dohring would be in town April 20 for New York Comic Con, he decided that I would be doing interviews for that Duel in person. (Apparently, When you have an opportunity to be in the same room with Alex O'Loughlin, you take it is the second rule of journalism. Right after, When you have a picture of a water-skiing squirrel, you run it. That one I read in Time Out New York once, and I vehemently concur.) So, yesterday, at the end of my chat with O'Loughlin, I asked him to pose for a photo — with a sign that I made for the occasion. (He, by the way, did so willingly. And told me to tell Slezak he said, "Hi.")

After the jump, some serious and STEAMY Moonlight spoilers.

• Ladies (and Slezak) really do love Alex O'Loughlin... O'Loughlin and Dohring participated in a panel to promote the show's return. When the moderator asked them to name their favorite episodes, O'Loughlin said he had "favorite scenes." Cue the suggestions from women in the crowd: "The shower scene! THE SHOWER SCENE!" (You know the one, with Shannyn Sossamon, who plays his ex Coraline.) When it came time for the official audience participation, 25 fans queued at a mike to ask a question — only one of them was male.

• But they do not like Coraline. The panel began with a 12-minute clip reel. O'Loughlin and Dohring noted that the loudest applause was for Beth (Sophia Myles) staking/stabbing Coraline — and that it was "such a shame" that Sossamon couldn't make it that day.

• I am, apparently, actually a gay man. When we last left Mick, he'd become human, albeit temporarily. In the April 25 episode, Beth is in danger — again — and Mick realizes he can't save her without his vampire power. He demands that Josef turn him back. The short clip shown, of Josef drinking from Mick's neck? Kinda hot, y'all. "It wasn't our intention to make the scene hot," O'Loughlin said, when I asked him about it after the panel. (Because you know that I did.) But it is to the show's advantage if we, the viewers, find it hot, right? "Sure, absolutely. What my intention is as an actor — as is Jason's, it's safe to say — is to make the scene true. In any dramatic scene you play on a show, you can't play 'hotness,' you can't play 'humor.' You've just got to go for the truth of the scene. And we did, and I think it kinda worked." According to Dohring, it hellaworked. "Dude, when you see the scene, I swear to god, I was emotional for an hour or two afterward. I'm not f---in' jokin'," he told me. "Usually, it doesn't hit me like that, or it's five or ten minutes. It's very f---in' moving, because we got a 30-piece orchestra for that scene and our director, David Barrett, kept telling these guys, 'Play like you're never gonna play again,' and these guys were, like, going crazy. That clip didn't do it justice. You'll see some f---in' amazing stuff." (Like them ending up on a table? But again, Dohring stresses that it wasn't their intention to make the scene "hot.") "The thing is, the dude's human, which is what he's wanted. It's the thing he's always bitchin' to me about: 'I want to be human.' And then he f---in' can't. It's like, here, I have to take from you the one thing that you want. That's f---ed up." (Or, what I call good television. And, of course, hot.)

• Mick and Beth may finally get it on. "I think that they are going to do that," O'Loughlin said, when an audience member asked if the pair will "seal the deal." Now whether he meant sometime during Season 1's final four episodes, or just eventually, he didn't say. I can tell you that one of the clips from an upcoming episode included a passionate kiss. Beth tells Mick that she's not the thing keeping them apart, and neither is his vampirism. It's him — he's afraid of getting hurt. She starts to walk away, and he grabs her. (You can hear the squeals, right?)

• The future of the show is still up in the air. There's been no pick up, but the rabid fan support (Moonlight Blood Drive!) gives O'Loughlin hope that there will be. He told me he's turned down film roles that would conflict with work on Moonlight's hypothetical second season. Dohring said they're filming the final episode of Season 1 now, and it includes a cliffhanger. "You see vampires from a bunch of different circles, all walks of life, meeting together to deal with a threat that comes on all of us..." What can you do, besides open a vein, if you want a Season 2? Tune in now, Dohring says. "I think the better we do [in the ratings] with these first two episodes, the better the chance we have." And, hey, if you haven't heard, this Friday's episode is gonna be hot.
