We have all been dreaming of and fighting for a Moonlight movie ever since the untimely cancelation of our series. I know that many of you have been dedicated to contacting Warner Bros & Joel Silver (Silver Productions) asking for a film. Now, in honor of the anniversary of Moonlight's premiere, fans are organizing to get everyone to write in & let them know what we want! Big thanks to my friend Kelly for creating this wonderful video to promote the campaign, and to Nikki for this fantastic idea to have everyone work together :)
Here are the details......... MOONLIGHT MOVIE CAMPAIGN - ANNIVERSARY WEEKEND WRITE-IN / EMAIL (SEPT. 25-27TH 2009) Two years ago our beloved show premiered on Sept. 28, 2007 and in just a few short episodes millions of people fell in love. Moonlight was more than just a show, something we wish more people could comprehend. It brought people together, some who had never even seen a message board before, and formed friendships that will last a lifetime. It inspired people to learn things they would never have thought they'd be able to do like graphic design, video editing, writing and even web design. For some it was even a lifeline; one beautiful, bright moment for an hour every week where they could escape to. Not to mention the countless amount of lives saved thanks to our blood drive efforts. There is no doubt that we as a fandom have suffered many a heartache and cruel criticisms. However, we are asking everyone to put aside any negative feelings and take a moment to reflect back on the good times, and how Moonlight changed your life or may have saved the life of someone you may not even know. With that in mind, on the weekend of Sept.25-27th we ask that everyone send a letter or postcard to the people listed below in hopes that someone will finally understand how much love there STILL is for this show around the world and grant our wish for a movie. Alan Horn, President and COO, Warner Bros. Entertainment Barry Meyer, President and CEO, Warner Bros. Entertainment Jeffrey Robinov, President, Warner Bros. In this video, you will see the oooo so handsome Alex O'Loughlin in his interview on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson last night.... er.... uh.... I mean this morning since it aired just after Midnight.
Alex O'Loughlin has sent another new message to his fans. He really tries to keep us up to date on his busy life. Not only is he working on several projects, he mentions being asked to throw out the first pitch @ the Dodgers vs Pirates game (on Tuesday, September 15th, 2009). I hope some Moonlight fans in the area get to see him. Sounds like Alex is gaining a bit of the popularity he deserves. Me Again Dear All, As I write this I am conscious of the fact that I feel like I say the same things in every blog I send out to you all... "Thank you-Thank you-Thank you". I haven't stopped for so long and it kind of seems like my birthday came and went really quickly this year. But it wasn't without THE most ridiculous influx of gifts, cards, and the usual, wonderful support I am slowly becoming accustomed to from all of you. My ever loyal and loving fans. So I guess I'll just say it again.. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!! Three Rivers has me very busy everyday and with the upcoming release of Whiteout I have found myself working every weekend too, busy with promotions & publicity in an attempt to launch the show and support the movie. I am very excited about both. But the thing I am most excited about is the opportunity Three Rivers has presented for me to get back to some community service. I am now a spokesperson, and soon to start my training to become an ambassador for Donate Life America. It is such an important cause and one that so many of us could do with a little more information on. I am now officially an organ, eye and tissue donor and have my little DLA card to keep in my wallet. (god forbid anything ever happen that would put it into action!) That being said, and again...touch wood...I now have the chance to give the gift of life, which I believe is the greatest gift of all. On another note, and FYI, I will be doing the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson again on Labor Day (to air that night I think) and it looks like I'll pitch the first ball of the Dodgers-Pirates game on September 15th so wish me luck. I had some pitching practice today at the stadium and apparently I can throw a ball. Haha. Not at 100 MPH though. ;) Guys, thanks for a really terrific birthday. You make me feel like I'm never alone. Be well. Be safe. All my love, Alex. x Photograph ~ Alex O'Loughlin from TV Guide's Sexiest TV Stars photo shoot ~ image by Rodolfo Martinez

I think Alex O'Loughlin is trying to tell his fans something in this message, but I'm not sure what he's attempting to say *wink* Hehehehe....... best birthday ever THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU Photograph ~ Alex O'Loughlin (Mick St John) on the red carpet for Moonlight's panel at Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles, CA

Entertainment Weekly has created a list of their 14 hottest Vampires. Our sexy vamp, Mick St John, is included ~ of course! No one could take EW's picks seriously if they left off Alex O'Loughlin. A few of the other Vampyres from the list ~ Spike from Angel & Buffy the Vampire Slayer (James Marsters), not surprising... Angel of Buffy the Vampire Slayer & Angel, Louis de Pointe du Lac in Interview with the Vampire (Brad Pitt), Mitchell on Being Human (Aidan Turner), another preordained choice.... Edward Cullen from the Twilight franchise (Robert Pattinson, True Blood's Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) & Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard), etc. The new CW tv series, The Vampire Diaries, has not even hit the air... but... Ian Somerhalder (who plays Damon Salvatore on that show) made the cut. As will [SPOILER ALERT] thoughts of when he was turned back into a vampire by Josef (Jason Dohring) after he'd finally gotten his wish of becoming human. TV Squad has posted a poll asking fans "Who's your favorite Vampire on TV?" Moonlight is included for your voting pleasure ;> Oddly, instead of listing only specific Vampyres, the list is a mixture of television series' and characters on various shows. The other choices are True Blood, The Night Stalker, Angel, Spike, Forever Knight, Kindred : The Embrace & Count Chocula. http://www.tvsquad.com/2009/07/29/whats-the-deal-with-vampires-these-days/
More fab news! We all remember the frustration our Aussie friends felt last year when Channel 9 abruptly stopped airing Moonlight midway through season one at 12:04 (episode #1x08). Moonlight is returning to Australian television! It's about time! For this outing, our show will air on Channel Nine's new network, called GO! Instead of starting up with the next episode (Fleur De Lis #1x09), GO! is beginning from ~ well ~ the beginning *grin* Moonlight's pilot episode (No Such Thing as Vampires #1x01) hits on Thursday, August 13th, 2009 @ 9:30 pm. Hey all....... Alex O'Loughlin has sent a sweet new message to update all his fans :) Its been a while Hi everybody. Well it certainly has been a minute since I last wrote you all, but I am glad to say that it's because I literally have not stopped working since we last spoke. I finished The Backup Plan a few days ago and flew straight back to LA to start production on Three Rivers, which is where I am now. The film experence was wonderful! We were very lucky to have the team of producers & the director that we had and I would work with them all again tomorrow! It was nothing but positive. Our director and leader, Alan Poul was as good as you can get. Very intelligent, funny, sensative to everyone's needs and a true visionary. I think we might just have a decent little film on our hands! ;) Many of you have sent me messages full of questions about Jennifer and how I found working with her, and I appreciate your enthusiasm. Jennifer is a very private person and I respect that, so what I will tell you is that she is all the good things you could possibly imagine her to be. Funny, smart, generous, always prepared, very professional, always punctual... and of course, beautiful. Thank you all so much for the constant support. It can be difficult to reach you all personally and individually, but none of your love and hard work ever goes unnoticed or unappreciated. It is something in my life that helps me find the energy I don't always think I have, to get through another long work day and stay inspired. Without you all it would be kind of pointless so, again, thank you. This behind the scenes video gives us a peek of Alex O'Loughlin (Stan) and Jennifer Lopez (Zoe) filming a kissing scene on the set of their upcoming movie, The Back-Up Plan.
Update ~ Unfortunately, this clip has been removed from YouTube :(
Today, Parade Magazine featured an inquiry sent in by a Moonlight fan asking if CBS knows what a blunder they made in canceling our show. We all knew the reasoning behind the network signing Alex O'Loughlin to a talent holding deal so quickly. Personality Parade Cancelled TV Series Question ~ Does CBS realize that canceling its vampire series Moonlight with Alex O’Loughlin was a mistake?— Sandy Bleiss, Bartlett, Tenn. Answer ~ Yes. Our sources tell us that the outcry was so great that CBS took steps to bring O’Loughlin back into the fold. CBS Films cast him opposite Jennifer Lopez in The Back-Up Plan, and this fall he’ll star as a doctor in a new medical series, Three Rivers. Is there a cancelled TV series you’d like to see revived? http://www.parade.com/celebrity/2009/07/personality-parade-cancelled-series.html Photograph ~ Alex O'Loughlin on the red carpet at TV Guide's Sexiest Stars party
Parade Magazine is hosting a poll on their website. It has many questions, but the 1st is the one we are interested in the most. They ask "Which cancelled TV series would you most want to see return?" Moonlight is a choice, for your voting pleasure. Vote for Moonlight in the Summer Pop Culture Poll ~ http://www.parade.com/celebrity/surveys/summer-2009.html
Reporter Bob Thompson recently interviewed Jennifer Lopez on the set of The Back-Up Plan. While he was there, he spoke to Alex O'Loughlin too. We heard that Jennifer was involved in picking her co-star. In this interview, she confirms that she had cast approval and... smart girl... she knew Alex was the guy for the job! I will print part of the chat here. You can read the entire interview by following the link below. Also, as I'm sure you already noticed, above you will see the newly released teaser poster for the movie :) Jennifer Lopez returns with a back-up plan by Bob Thompson @ Canwest News Service LOS ANGELES — Jennifer Lopez seems at home as she wanders the hallowed halls of Radford Studios, originally built in this San Fernando Valley enclave as the cinema home for silent film greats Charlie Chaplin and The Keystone Cops. More recently, the sound stage complex housed the long running TV sitcoms Seinfeld and That '70s Show, among many others. And now it's home to JLo who is determined to revive her film career with the romantic comedy The Back-Up Plan, which she's currently filming here.
In the Alan Poul-directed movie set to open early next year, Lopez plays Zoe, a freethinking Manhattan woman who decides to go it alone as a single parent. She's conceiving twins through artificial insemination when she meets whom she believes might be Mister Right (Alex O'Loughlin), even if he has some reservations. That story's not much of a leap for Lopez. She's the devoted wife of Marc Anthony, her Mister Right, and the caring mother to fraternal twins Max and Emme, born to her on Feb. 22, 2008.
Lopez agrees it was easy to identify with the screenplay. Still, the 39-year-old had misgivings about returning to the grind after tending to her real-life babies, which accompany her to most of The Back-Up Plan locations around the city. "I don't think it is any big secret that I love romantic comedies," says Lopez who is joined for the chat by her co-star O'Loughlin. "I chose this specific movie because I thought it was funny and romantic and it had a little bit of a naughty edge to it." Not surprisingly, she also had cast approval and lots to say in selecting co-star O'Loughlin, the Australian actor best known for his detective role in The Shield and private investigator and vampire in the now cancelled Moonlight series.
Her assessment? She says she decided he had lots of charm, but more critically O'Loughlin had the strength of character to stand up to the strong-willed Lopez on screen.
As it was, she knew she would be a force in the part. "Having been pregnant and having my own kids I responded right away to my character," she admits. "But then I hadn't been on a set for 26 months." So she had to take it slow and easy those for the first few weeks on The Back-Up Plan. "It was nerve-racking," confesses Lopez smiling. "I thought maybe I would forget how to do it right." "But she didn't," assures O'Loughlin, who says he's been impressed with her commitment to detail in general and her comedic timing specifically. Shrugging off the compliment, Lopez says she's accustomed to being under-estimated whether it's on a sound stage or in a recording studio. Over-exposed by public displays of exaggeration? She became accustomed to that as well. For nearly a decade, the singer and actress unintentionally provided gossipy fodder for sensationalists around the world. Almost everybody knows the turmoil she's experienced, whether the incidents were overblown or not. There were her failed marriages, the Sean Combs nightlife clubbing phase, and the wild and wacky 'Bennifer' engagement to Ben Affleck that became infamously disengaged. So that's her baggage real or imagined. And O'Loughlin's asked the obvious because of it. What's it like acting opposite somebody so famous? As he tries to explain himself, Lopez's goading him to come clean with what he really thinks. "Believe it or not I didn't have any pre-conceived ideas," he says. "She's smoking hot and super famous." "And for someone as iconic as you are," adds O'Loughlin, pausing as he looks at Lopez who interrupts him with "I want to hear the second part of that sentence." "OK, I think of you as a grounded person who's got all of her stuff down at work," he says, looking relieved he's finished without more good-natured taunting by Lopez. Programming note........ For those who missed it, or just wanna watch again. Alex O'Loughlin guest starred as a serial killer, named Vincent, on the television series Criminal Minds. It is my turn to say "THANK YOU! " I don't know how you found out about my birthday being in July. Of course, I shouldn't be surprised. You are so thoughtful and resourceful. I have received heaps of sweet emails, as well as real life cards and gifts :) You certainly know how to lift my spirits! Kisses!
In this video, Entertainment Tonight's Kevin Frazier interviews Jennifer Lopez, Alex O'Loughlin and Cesar Millan (of The Dog Whisperer tv show). The chats took place on the set of their movie, The Back-Up Plan. Alex only pops in for a moment, but is his usual charming self :) We also get to see two quick glimpses of their scenes in the film.
Many have been requesting contact information for the Syfy Channel (formerly Sci-Fi). Some want to tell the network executives "thank you!" for airing reruns of Moonlight, others want to encourage them to continue repeating our show or ask them to consider producing a Moonlight mini-series &/or tv movie, some want to do all of the above! I have posted the channel's info several times in the past, but here it is again for ya :) Keep in mind, sending email messages is great. However, taking just a few minutes to write, stamp and mail an actual postcard or letter has more impact. Postcards can be read immediately, while letters may not be opened at all. Of course, we need to continue to be polite & concise in all correspondence. Sci Fi Wire is the news service of the Sci-Fi Channel... now called Syfy, by the way. An interesting article is on their website. Moonlight fans, get ready to have your hearts race! As you know, our show won the Saturn Award for Best Television Series Release on DVD. Co-executive producer, Harry Werksman, accepted the trophy. He also answered an entertainment reporter's questions regarding a Moonlight movie. *gulp* We've all been hoping and dreaming of this possibility. According to Harry, "I think what we were going to try and do is to have the movie encapsulate the entire second season..." He goes on to say that, not only did he speak to Alex O'Loughlin about a film version of Moonlight, but Alex asked him "When are we going to do the movie?" Please, oooo please, oooo please :) The article states that Moonlight repeats are showing on SciFi each Friday evening. However, our show is not currently on the channel's Friday night schedule. Yellow highlighted text is my emphasis. Could a movie version of the vampire TV show Moonlight rise from the dead? By Fred Topel The recent vampire craze born of Twilight and True Blood came a bit too late to save CBS' Moonlight: The vampire detective series was canceled after one season. But it won a Saturn Award for best series on DVD last week, and executive producer Harry Werksman offered fans some hope that a Moonlight movie could offer some closure. "Well, we were setting up in the end of our first season that there was a coming war," Werksman said in an exclusive interview at the awards ceremony in Burbank, Calif. "There was the family from which Coraline came, and it was a royal bloodline of vampires that Mick had been brought into, very much unwanted on his part. I think what we were going to try and do is to have the movie encapsulate the entire second season of the coming war." The series chronicled the casework of detective Mick St. John (Alex O'Loughlin), who could solve crimes committed by vampires. He was dealing with his own issues with an ex, Coraline (Shannyn Sossamon), who turned him without his consent, and a 400-year-old vamp (Jason Dohring), who butted in with underworld politics. Of course, a movie would require the entire cast to return, and after the show's cancellation, they all booked new gigs. "You know, unfortunately, I think that everyone has kind of moved on," Werksman said. One medium that does not need actors, however, is comic books. "No, they don't need actors," Werksman said. "We could always do comic books, graphic novels, that's true." A movie is not out of the question, though, because lead actor O'Loughlin has told Werksman he's still interested. "I know I talked to Alex just a couple weeks ago, after Three Rivers got picked up, and I was congratulating him," he said. "He's like, 'When are we going to do the movie?' I said, 'I don't know, man. Any time you're ready.'" Alex O'Loughlin just drips sensuality! Pun intended since he happens to be wet & bare chested in this photograph. ;> That man can rip a shirt like no one else! I'm sure you recognize this photo wallpaper of our Vampire, Mick St John, from Moonlight's unforgettable Fever episode (# 1x04). You might not want to use this as the background on your office computer, because you will never get any work done! Hehehehe.....
This video shows the original promo tv commercial that aired on CBS for Moonlight's Fever episode (#1x04). Fever is the point in the series that turned soooooo many into true, die-hard Moonlight fans :) By then, I was already receiving tons of email & comments about the program. However, all the activity spiked even more after Fever. It is also the episode that began to convince several tv critics to reevaluate their initial opinions of our show. For good reason... the cast and writers did such an amazing job. I don't know about you, but I could watch it over & over & over!

Moonlight tv series promo photos for the Dr. Feelgood episode (#1x03). I know we've all been enjoying the reruns... new & old Moonlight fans alike!
I have received wonderful messages from people who discovered our show for the first time due to these repeats on Sci-Fi. Of course, that good news is tinged with sad. Many of the new fans are just learning about Moonlight's cancelation. However, the more fans the series has the better! The hard work of our cast, writers, crew, etc deserves to be appreciated :) Also, Hollywood pays attention to any project that will make them money.

Hey guys ~ I'm gonna brag a lil bit ;> Tommmmmmmmy was asked to be a guest columnist for the LA Times Hero Complex Blog! He wrote "Top 10 vintage Batman toys, for your inner Boy Wonder." I think it is a marvelous article.... not that I'm biased or anything. *grin* Here's a link for you ~

Blood Ties tv show season one has been released on DVD. Another canceled Vampire show :( Who can forget..... Last May, CBS decided not to pick up Moonlight. At around the same time, Lifetime made the decision not to renew Blood Ties. Fans from both programs joined forces to protest the shortsided choices made by the television network executives. The current Vampyre frenzy ~ True Blood, the Twilight series (books and movies), The Vampire Diaries, etc ~ just illustrates the huge mistake they made. You can get your Blood Ties DVD through this link ~
Blood Ties stars Kyle Schmid as Vampire Henry Fitzroy and Christina Cox as PI Victoria "Vicki" Nelson. The DVD set includes all 13 episodes from season one, along with bonus material (trailer and behind the scenes documentary).
Ooooooo yea.... You can also preorder the upcoming Blood Ties Season Two DVD set by clicking here --------> Blood Ties-Season 2 It is scheduled to be released on October 6th, 2009.
Check out this video. In his Mega Minute feature for TV Guide, Matt Mitovich talks about Alex O'Loughlin and his tv show, Three Rivers. He asked CBS' Kelly Kahl (Senior Executive Vice President of Programming) what he thought would be the secret to the success of the new series. Kelly's reply.... "It's the cute guy from the Vampire show." Three Rivers has been greenlit for the normal freshman 13 episodes. Of course, there is the option for 9 more if the network picks up the program for a full season.
SPOILER ALERT for those who have not seen the Moonlight's second episode yet!
Here are promo photos from Moonlight's Out of the Past episode (#1x02) for you. The Sci-Fi Channel will begin rebroadcasting Season One again tomorrow night by airing this episode. Not sure why they are not starting with the pilot.... but I'm just happy the network is continuing to rerun our show.

In Moonlight's season finale ~ Sonata (episode #1x16) ~ they use the same song for two poignant scenes. Love Remains the Same by Gavin Rossdale (video above) is the music playing as Mick and Beth dance together at the beginning of the episode. Then, it is heard again at the end as the soundtrack to their final scene.... Mick going back into Beth's apartment, admitting his love for her and then their kiss!
SPOILER ALERT! Mick St John (Alex O'Loughlin) & Beth Turner (Sophia Myles) last scene from Moonlight's season finale ~ Sonata (episode #1x16). Extended version! This video is of the final act from Friday night's Moonlight episode ~ Sonata (#1x16). It is the final emotional scene between Mick and Beth. Beginning with his arrival at her apartment and Beth tearfully declaring "I don't think I can do this anymore." Mick finally tells her that he loves her. Our last view of MickBeth is of them kissing. Mick Voiceover ~ "I've spent the past 55 years trying to close the door on forever, but I can't anymore. I can't close the door on Beth." Mick ~ "You want to know what Emma & Jackson made me realize? That you were right. You were right all along. This isn't about being a Vampire or a human. This is about us. How we feel about one another. Right here, right now!" Beth ~ "The night that we first met.... or met again, whatever. What was I wearing." Mick ~ "Blue jeans, white striped shirt, cream jacket." Beth ~ "What about my shoes?" Mick ~ "You were barefoot." Beth ~ "How can you remember that?" Mick ~ "Because I love you"
SPOILER ALERT! This is my little recap of Moonlight's season finale ~ Sonata (episode #1x16) I hope you will bear with me. I'm trying to write my usual episode recap, but I'm a bit upset. First of all, I must say that I am soooooooooooooooooo glad the feared cliffhanger ending did not happen! When Jason mentioned that in an interview, he must have been referring to the list of Vampires that was mysteriously sent to ADA Talbot. The producers said Moonlight fans would love the last scene. Very true! Often, fans of beloved, canceled shows are left with nothing but unanswered questions and unfinished storylines. I'm just grateful that we have some closure. However, IF we are fortunate enough to get our show back, they still have amazing stories to tell. So sweet to see Josef funding a memorial for his Sleeping Beauty. Hearst College ~ funny! We learn about the willing freshie world. Could Mick have been more uncomfortable when Beth asked how many he has enjoyed over the years?! Mick and Beth's 4th actual date. I knew it was jinxed as soon as she said it's a date if a dead body is not involved. Lots of jealousy tonight.... Josef & Simone, Mick & Beth, Emma & Jackson.... Talk about guilty looks as Beth walks in on Josef & Mick sampling Simone's blood. She is confused because feeding was a big deal in the moment she & Mick shared in the desert. Then, Mick says this was no big deal. Of course, there is a difference. Love! He does not have feelings for Simone.
I laughed out loud at this exchange. Beth asks Mick if he is ok after the scuffle during their visit to the frat house. Mick ~ "I got hit in the face with the sacred ass paddle." Beth ~ "Karma!" *grin* Side note ~ Is being able to tell someone's blood type by taste a new power he has due to Josef's blood? Previously, he was surprised when Beth revealed her rare type.... even tho he had tasted it already. Beth & Mick both observed the 150 year marriage that Emma & Jackson shared, yet had different perspectives of what that meant. I chuckled when Jackson, being the gracious host, brought in the drinks. Blood for himself & Mick. Water for Beth. As always, LOVED the scenes between Josef & Mick. Discussing his possible beyond freshie relationship with Simone... a human.... Josef ~ "Who doesn't like me? Did she say that?" hehehehehe
The gathering of the major vamps in LA. I smiled thinking that Logan got to meet Josef. Remember how envious he sounded about Mick knowing the richest & most powerful Vampyre?
When Jackson was allowed to have a final moment with Emma, I knew he would not leave her side. Mick seeing their love led to the final scene between him & Beth. At first, he seems to be doing his usual routine. I had no doubts that he would go back to Beth. "You want to know what Emma & Jackson made me realize? That you were right. You were right all along. This isn't about being a Vampire or a human. This is about us. How we feel about one another. Right here, right now!" Their love also influences Beth. She asks Mick what she was wearing the night the met.... well... met again. ;> Of course, he knows. All he had to say was his response to her asking how he remembered. "Because, I love you."
