CBS has issued a new press release regarding their Friday night schedule. We better enjoy the Moonlight reruns while we can. :( The Price is Right specials will be airing on Friday starting February 22nd, 2008 at 7:00 PM (CST). That is the Ghost Whisperer's time slot, so GW will move to 8:00 PM (CST) taking over Moonlight's spot. At least, it does say Moonlight will return "later this season." We just don't know when yet.

THE PRICE IS RIGHT, hosted by Drew Carey, returns to prime time with six new specials to be broadcast on Fridays, beginning February 22nd, 2008 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT), on the CBS Television Network. These will be the first primetime specials to be broadcast since Carey took hosting reins from former host Bob Barker.
During THE PRICE IS RIGHT six-week primetime run, GHOST WHISPERER will move to 9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT. MOONLIGHT will return to the schedule later this season.
THE PRICE IS RIGHT, with host Drew Carey, is the longest-running game show in television history. In 2007, it won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game/Audience Participation Show. Produced by FremantleMedia North America, THE PRICE IS RIGHT is broadcast weekdays (11:00 AM-12:00 Noon, ET; 10:00-11:00 AM, PT) on the CBS Television Network.

I became worried,panicky & upset when I learned about this news from another site last night. I sent my concern to CBS Feedback immediately.
This morning, when I went on your site, I felt a bit of relieved after I read that "Moonlight will return later this season".
I hope that Moonlight will come back with a bang after this hiatus. I just wish CBS will make an official Moonlight renewal soon. Very frustrating for us Moonlight fans, indeed!
I don't know about anyone else(although I suspect you are out there)but I changed some major viewing habits because of Moonlight.
1. I actually watch it Live - ads and all - the first time I have done that for any show since I got VHS (never mind TIVO!). So... years!
2. I have the TIVO set to "repeats" - again a first and the only show I do this for.
3. I never watched Ghost Whisperer or Numb3rs before. I still don't watch GW, but I started watching Numb3rs because it followed Moonlight.
I actually submitted a comment to CBS - if you are interested, I pasted it below. Perhaps if many of us have changed our viewing habits to the benefit of the Network because of our show, we should let them know.

I would like to make some points about Moonlight, its potential and its fanbase.
I watch exactly 3 shows on CBS: Moonlight, 2 1.2 Men and Criminal Minds.
Since I got TIVO, I have NEVER watched anything live. The closest I ever got was to wait 20 mins after the show started so I could still zap through the ads. With Moonlight - I watch it LIVE - ads and all - because I can't wait.
I NEVER watch repeats. Moonlight is the only show on my TIVO set to record repeats and as well as new episodes.
I have never watched Ghost Whisperer (too formulaic) or Numb3rs (not sure why). I started watching Numb3rs once Moonlight preceded it.
I definitely will NOT watch "The Price is Right".
So - given there were at least 10m of us who voted for Moonlight on the PCA and given that the ~8m is a live viewing statistic (indicating a larger fanbase outside of the narrow "live" metric) can I be the only one who has changed several major behaviors with regard to what I watch and how I watch it -- to the benefit of the network, I might add?
Probably not. Even if only 1/3rd of Moonlights fans did the same, you are getting a pretty sizeable number of viewers paying you more attention, watching the way you want us to (live) AND potentially watching at least one of the two shows wrapped around Moonlight.
Don't ignore us, please. We want more... and we want a 2nd season - preferably in that order.
Thanks for giving us this show so we CAN be so passionate about it... please don't take it away from us.

I can't imagine who would rather see Price is Right over Moonlight, especially where all of us Moonlght fans are! Doesn't CBS get it?? I will be sure not to watch any Price is Right at that time in pure protest. It worries me that CBS won't commit to a return date.
Are they out of their minds. No Moonlight for 6 weeks. Can't they find another place for the Price is Right? Don't they realize that Moonlight won the PCA for best new drama. We need out Moonlight CBS!!At least let us know if we could look forward to a season two. Then at least we have something to look forward to.
