Another Vampire themed project

The year of the Vampyre continues....... Noah Wyle returns with another entry in his Librarian tv movie series. This time his character, Flynn Carsen, is in New Orleans (my city ~ yea!) fighting Russians and encountering Vampires. TNT will rerun The Librarian: The Curse of the Judas Chalice this weekend.

Hurricane Katrina's third anniversary ~ Remembering our Gulf Coast neighbors

You know how much New Orleans means to me. Today is the 3rd anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. I am humbled by the resilience of those who fought to get their lives back after the unreal devastation of that storm. People who lost family members, friends, homes, pets and businesses in Bay St Louis, MS ~ Waveland, MS ~ St Bernard Parish ~ NOLA ~ Lower Ninth Ward ~ Biloxi, MS (too many communities to list here). Yet, they would not give up! Rebuilding not only their own lives, but helping loved ones, neighbors & strangers to do the same. Add to that the outpouring of assistance and care from every state.... and around the world. It is awe-inspiring!

Several friends in New Orleans are asking for our positive thoughts as they nervously watch the approach of Hurricane Gustav. I know shelters and charities in Oklahoma City are gearing up to receive possible evacuees, in case of emergency. Patients from hospitals in Louisiana are already being transported to one of our medical centers.

Please, remember the people of the Gulf Coast!

Of course, the Red Cross is preparing to help. I am soooooooo proud of Moonlight fans for supporting such an important organization :)

Happy Fourth of July!

I want to wish you all a wonderful, SAFE July 4th weekend! After having my own not so fun fireworks show at home, I'm looking forward to the real thing tonight ;>

This photo is of the spectacular display on the mighty Mississippi River with the skyline of historic New Orleans as a backdrop.

Off Topic ~ "Laissez les bons temps rouler!"

Happy Mardi Gras! In honor of Fat Tuesday, here is a Fleur De Lis wallpaper to grace your computer or website.

New Orleans is never far from my thoughts, but even more so today. It is a historic city that adds soooo much to our country. The atmosphere can not be described. Amazing people are there who need and deserve our help in rebuilding. The unforgettable tourist areas are ready and open for business ~ the French Quarter, Magazine Street, Faubourg Marigny, Garden District, CBD, Warehouse District...... Please, consider visiting again for your next vacation, family reunion, convention, etc. And, take me with you! *grin*
