Moonlight takes 86% of the vote in Hollywood Reporter poll

Recently, I told you about the "As the networks lock in their primetime schedule plans, which shows would you most like to see return?" poll on The Hollywood Reporter's website. They have already written an article declaring Moonlight as the winner ~ with 86% of the vote! Our response completely surprised them.... but it doesn't surprise me at all :) Way to go, Moonlight fans!

I was happy to read that The Hollywood Reporter feels the "odds look good for a pickup." On another point they made, I had to disagree a bit. They state Alex O'Loughlin being a "hunk" is the main reason Moonlight is so popular. That is not all our show has to offer. The engrossing & compelling story has us hooked! Of course, there is no arguing that hunk is definitely a word that can be used to describe Alex. However, that is not all he has to offer. He is also an extremely talented actor, along with having that elusive "It" factor. That comes naturally to him, while other performers dream of having it. Everyone in our cast ~ Jason Dohring, Sophia Myles, Shannyn Sossamon & Brian J White ~ are wonderful actors. They have brought the characters to life for us. We are fortunate to have such dedicated & talented writers, crew and cast working hard on our show. That is why I am addicted to Moonlight!

The video used to accompany the article has clips of Mick and Beth's desert bathtub scene from Fever (episode #1x04) & their visit to the lab in Love Lasts Forever (episode #1x11).

Fans foam for Friday fang fest

CBS' cult favorite "Moonlight" returns April 25 with four new episodes. The vampire drama is considered on the bubble for a fall renewal, but odds look good for a pickup.

And if fans have anything to say about it, "Moonlight" will live on forever. The Hollywood Reporter ran an online poll -- still available at www.thr.com -- in which we asked voters what shows they wanted brought back in the new fall season. We were not prepared for the response.

In overwhelming numbers -- 5182 out of 5958 votes cast as of Friday at 3:11 p.m. PT -- "Moonlight" flew away with it.

Like a bat outta hell, the vampires took 86% of the votes cast, while "Cashmere Mafia" only took 5% of the votes to put it a distant second.

Why? It's simple. "Moonlight" has a hunk. A hunk whose shirt is often unbuttoned way past the point of being comfortable. That's a character women can get behind, fangs or no fangs. "Why won't he bite me?" they wonder every week. Why not indeed.

Kandye, I was just going to say you should read the comments left at THR and I just went back to post another comment and saw you already straightened them out.

I don't think the "tv world or WORLD AT LARGE" realize WE MOONLIGHT FANS monitor the internet constantly 24/7 looking for anything related to Moonlight so we can jump right on it.

Hey Cobby ~

Thanks! You know that I had to give my 2 cents. *grin* I have a feeling that they won't be prepared for the comments left by Moonlight's fans either. Reading them has drawn me back to the page several times. Love all the passion and well written thoughts! I really liked your comment ~ "MOONLIGHT is great...what more can 'ya say. Those who don't know about it, or refuse to watch are missing out on something magical." I couldn't agree more! *smile*

XO ~

Well, I wish I could leave a well thought-out message like Cobby did (wonderful, btw), but it's 230am and I just had to check out your site before I headed to bed. All I can say is, YOU'RE DAMN RIGHT. God, people need to stop underestimating our power, we flock like army ants to anything Moonlight related and completely devour the competition. Just goes to show you how bloody determined we are and how much our precious show deserves!

I voted in THR poll- so fun to see the numbers after I cast my vote! I've also been going to http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/nominations.html and voting for Moonlight as often as I can. I read about it on a message board at tvguide.com but it was a while ago and haven't seen anything else. Is it still worth my time as I'm getting slightly obsessed? The Moonlight number is definitely going up but only 300 or so a day.
