Reminder ~ Be heard as a Moonlight viewer!

Since we have been grumbling about Moonlight's Nielsen ratings, I thought this would be a good time for a reminder about our own little ratings system. ;>

Repost ~

One of the things we have been doing for quite some time is writing directly to CBS to say "I'm a loyal Moonlight viewer but I don't count in the Nielsen ratings you use." Letting them know how often we watch the show... on tv, online, DVR, Amazon, TIVO, iTunes. I have gotten tons of enthusiastic messages from you about this. You have jumped on this idea. I can only imagine the avalanche of postcards, emails & feedbacks they are receiving. YEA!

International Moonlight fans have really taken to this campaign, since their viewing definitely does not effect the Nielsen ratings. Write a quick email saying that you are from Canada, France, Brazil, Ireland, Australia, England, Italy, the Middle East, etc along with your viewing stats.

I knew I could depend on you :) Please, keep sending those messages. This is our own ratings system.

Be heard as a Moonlight viewer!

Thanks for this info. Is it better to write the network directly, or is the feedback form just as effective?

I guess we find out on Wed. I can't imagine a cancellation! I don't think Alex and the cast are expecting one and I think they (along with all of us) would be devastated! I pray this week will be for celebration time, because if we know Moonlight is cancelled, how will we watch the 16th ep. and not be depressed no matter what happens?! That would be truly cruel and unusual punishment and therefore should be against the law! :-)

I'm start to hear negative things in the midst of the positive, so I'm counting the hours until we know. I wish I didn't love this show so much. But looking at it from an optimist's viewpoint, at least because of the show I discovered Alex O'Loughlin and Sophia Myles. One way or another, I'll follow their careers for the rest of my life.

Has anybody been on the CBS site recently? There is a bunch more content up there - including an "if you like Moonlight you might also like..." section which seems to indicate that CBS are "getting" the fact that this appeals to something of a speciality audience.

Also, click on the "watch the preview link" -- they have a heading "Upcoming SEASON finales" and Moonlight is listed there with all the others we know are getting a renewal, such as Ghost Whisperer, CSI, Numbers and Without a Trace.

This has to be a good sign, right?
