Spoiler Video ~ Promo for Moonlight's season finale ~ Sonata (episode #1x16)

Spoiler Alert!

This video is the promo commercial shown by CBS after tonight's episode of Moonlight. It's a preview of next week's season finale ~ Sonata (episode #1x16). The debate has already begun about the glimpse of Mick, Josef and what appears to be a willing freshie. In the promo shown last week, Mick and Beth kiss. That moment was left out this time. What do you think is gonna happen?

I can't believe we only have one more new episode left.

Well Alex did say, in a number of interviews, that the Mick Beth relationship had been in an arc and something had resolved. He's also just been resired by Josef and both episode 14 and 15 - he's acting a lot more like Josef.

Just a thought. Or two.

I kinda thought Alex said the arc between him and Beth would be the one arc that would always be present, not resolved. Then he said they would not at this time have any other arcs until the show is hopefully renewed.

Me again. I said that Alex said that the Mick/Beth arc would always be there, and he did, but you are right in that he also said in ep 16 it comes to an interesting close. Well, if it is always going to be there, and also come to an interesting close, what does that mean exactly? I just hope they don't leave us on a negative note.

Well, I actually think it might be a good thing that they are saying "will love the last scene". That seems to indicate that they care how we feel about the show and how it is left... meaning maybe they also care enough to give us another season.

I can't wait to see this episode and this scene... but then this short renewed season thrill ride will end. Lets hope only for the summer.

In every episode that there have been "freshies" Mick has refused them. Josef and he have running gags about them. So why is Mick indulging this time?

Personally I think it's because he's Josef "son" now and he's sort of newly turned and needs to work his boundaries out again. What was the quote - "a newly turned vampire is like a feral kitten"

Wow, what happened to our Mick? I almost thought for a second there it was Josef....

How he has changed, embracing his vamperism as he has. This has me in knots i cant quite explain how dissapointed i am in his behaviour.

I love him as a Vampire dont get me wrong but we only need one Josef and one Mick i cannot handle seeing Mick like this...i almost want to say i hate this new Mick....and it breaks my heart to have to say this but we all fell in love with Mick the good vampire not this...

I love all his powers, that i wouldnt change but this sudden change in his character wow...maybe it is Josefs blood that is affecting him...i dont know but surely dont like it.

Poor Beth, wow wouldnt want to be in her situation. Hard enough to be in a Human relationship imagine a Human/Vampire one!!!

Mick flirting with that girl in the gym...okay Josef...not...
I am just a tad confused now, so he has accepted his vamperism? Does this mean no more looking for the cure? so what do we need Coraline for?

I know that there is more to this promo than meets the eye, i just hope that by the end of the season we get our loveing Mick the Vampire back...not happy with all this really. Sorry just being honest.

Maybe being re-sired by Josef has something to do with it; based on the previews, it looks a side of Mick we hadn't seen previously, which strikes me as somewhat odd. Is he going to be acting like an "adolescent vampire" now?
I did want to see some MickBeth action - hope they don't leave our story in a weird place!

well what about the question about "sealing the deal"....at the Cons Alex was asked DIRECTLY if Mick & Beth will "get together" and we all know the meaning of that, AND HE EMPHATICALLY ANSWERED, "YES". But to tell you the truth, I don't see it coming. The last 2 episodes left me feeling as if they were BROTHER & SISTER, not potential lovers!!! I'm extremely disappointed. And I would like to add that I was one of the fans that thought like Alex did that once the DEAL WAS SEALED, the show would be over!! I still feel like Alex cause in one of his last, most recent interviews, he sorta seemed resigned to the fact M/B would hook up.

Below are my comments I left on the TVGuide.com blog:

"Well the story line was good. A little bit of Mick's past. Beth now has a job working for the ADA...she surely will have lots of ??? asked of her by Talbot about Mick in season 2. Wonder how she'll wiggle out of them? Josef was his usual snarky self...good for that.

And we all know Mick & Beth work well being detectives and gathering info to solve the crimes.......JUST LIKE "GOOD FRIENDS" WHO ARE RUNNING A BUSINESS. If it wasn't for the two car scenes with the verbal exchange about babies and family you would think they were bother and sister!!!! I have no feeling whatsoever about romance going on between these two characters....NONE WHATSOEVER!!! and I'm pissed. So now next week they're going to fling in my face another hugh kiss and I'm supposed to believe that these two people love and desire each other???

I'm not feeling it!! They could have had Beth at least sit a little closer or lean into Mick during the baby talk. OR, at the end when she touched his hair she could have nudged him towards her and they could have kissed.. even a little kiss".

Don't get me wrong, there is not bigger fan of ML and the MickBeth thing....I'm just disappointed. I hope the writers redeem themselves next week. VAMPIRE SOLIDARITY, RAH, RAH, RAH

And I would like to add that I'm just sick to my stomach that next week is the LAST EPISODE. I just want to throw up!! I can cry just thinking about it.........

Hum I like the theory that Mick's acting a bit like Josef.
I hated seeing Mick flirt with that girl.
This is gonna sound silly but I felt Beth's betrayal.
=(
I'm wondering if this behavior is going to push Beth towards the hot new DA.
I'm also pissed and hoping that whatever he does do isn't too bad 'cause I've waited so long to see him with Beth, they've yet to consummate their relationship, and I think this might break them.
*fingers crossed*
If they are destined to break-up for now. I really hope they "do it" before they break up.

I like the theory about Mick acting a lot like Josef since he re-sired him. I never thought about that. But Josef knows that he loves Beth...

Mick and Josef aren't vamped out, so I don't think they were purposely drinking from the freshie.

Maybe Josef is teaching Mick how to be gentle when the time comes for he and Beth to "seal the deal"?

Thoughts?

It's me again, Cobby. I've watched that clip a hundred times and I swear to God, I hope the hell she slaps him across the face when he says, "it's no big deal", like hell it isn't"!!! I'm so pissed at him!!!!!

This is going to be a fun week (I'm anonymous 1 and 4). We can play guess what happens. BUT I'm like a lot of people here - for some bizarre reason the whole chemistry has gone out the window for Mick and Beth and I don't understand. They're not romantic, they are like great friends. The stories have been fun but the ongong romance hasn't been sustained. She was worried about him like I'd be worried about my brother, not my lover.

BTW I think the tears she's shedding in the promo are about her trying to keep the secret of Dean Foster's death from him rather than breaking up with him. But hey, only a week and we'll know. Maybe the cliffhanger is Mick watching Beth and Ben on their "first date" and wanting to kill....

Snort.

I agree with some of the previous comments. They are so off the romantic chart here. I miss a little bit of romance, they are acting like siblings or work colleagues ONLY!
I cannot stand to see the chances for a little bit of romance gone the drain. Like the car scene, if it wasn't for Mick's looks..there was nothing going on there.
The writers messed up a little with this. I don't want them to make out like teenagers, but throw us a bone ..geezz!!
Uff..I'm dissapointed and frustrated. Only one episode left, where they are going to try to stuff everything..
I love the show, but please..bring my MickBeth back!

The preview is not going to mess up my head anymore. I'll wait for mai 16th.

Hi tina,

Just wanted to say you make a good point there on the fact that on that preview Mick and Josef were not vamped out and that maybe Josef is showing Mick how to be gentle when with Beth.....it makes sense but who knows right? I only hope so.

I hate to see Beth cry like that it broke my heart....she truly loves him.

I, for one like the way the writers have written the last 4 epis., again, my opinion. With that said, I'm also very confuse, upset and a tad disappointed w/the Mick/Beth love affection or lack there of, so have to agree with all of you on this. I was hoping to see more of the holding hands, a big hug here/there or a peck in the lips. Yet I have a feeling 'Sonata' it's going to be the 'seal the deal' epi.....(hope so!) keeping my fingers XXXX. One thing I have to say...The son of a Gun looks sexier and sexier every time...Lord have Mercy and Bless Him!!

If Mick and Beth don't get together, the arc of this whole season is ruined, and I think a lot of people will be disappointed.

It's not consistent writing.

And that seems to be this show's problem. I love the show. It's my favorite, but it could be stronger.

The last few episodes have been good, but I don't know about Mick changing so quickly. And he loved Beth enough to be a vampire again!

It just doesn't work, if he loved her enough to be a vamp again and now he's off with others.

Let's hope we all have the show wrong.

Re: the lack of Mick/Beth action. I think Mick hit the nail on the head when he said in the car - their relationship isn't normal - so I don't think we should be expecting it to be like a normal relationship. Mick's been burnt pretty bad in the past by love and Josh has only been dead a couple of weeks so I don't think they are going to throw themselves at each other like normal people. Plus Mick is aware that close physical contact can put Beth in danger. I think since the re-turning he is having trouble controlling himself like previously (twice in the past 2 weeks he's really had to fight to control his vampirism with the bad guys plus he did mention to Josef he's having trouble with his body not knowing what it wants) So that may be the reason its been a bit cold. However its VERY frustrating for us viewers.

Has anyone thought that maybe Beth is being forced into breaking it off with Mick to protect him? Now that she is working with Ben, perhaps she found the case file on Mick and in order to find out what Ben is upto she is going to pretend to end things with Mick and suck up to Ben. Just a thought!!

thanks Francesca, I guess we can only wait now!

I agree with you all about the lack of romance on the last couple of episodes. I almost feel that there was more romance when there was just the sexual tension.

I think the writers are playing it rather cool because they don't want to change the show and lose viewers. If it turned into a MickBeth love story, people would stop tuning in. They still have to work together. I think they are purposely limiting the romantic bits so we keep watching and waiting for them....

I still maintain the feeling that they are going to "seal the deal" at the end of the season finale; where we see them kissing in one of the promos.

I agree with the anonymous comment from May 11, 2008 8:05 PM -- I also noticed that he seems to be struggling to control his inner vamp more in these last few episodes.

Hi Tina,
Your are welcome.

Yes i just found myslef disliking Mick in these two last episodes...i mean i will always love him no doubt just didnt feel the same toward him as before. He almost came across to me like this cold, unfeeling person and i couldnt warm up to this new Mick.

I kind of said good if Beth goes with Talbot...but i dont really mean that...lol...

I just dont think they will lose viewers if they just raise it up a notch, i am not talking about the sex thing...i think it is way to early for that but just a little more kissing, caressing, eye gazing whatever it is young lovers do. Yes i agree that the writers are prolonging the Mick/Beth relationship because they want us to come back for more and the loyal fans always do no matter what.

I dont think they will Seal the Deal but it doesnt hurt to hope so!!!

Have a great day!

Hi Janie Harrison,

Yes i agree and no i dont about the arc of Mick/Beth getting together...i believe either way we will keep watching but i definetly do want more stuff....give us more Moonlight....

I agree with you though on the writing not being consistent...i just didnt quite understand "Fated to Pretend" the emotions, the kiss and then to Click and Whats left Behind...everything surely was left behind...emotions, kiss his pouring his heart to Josef about how he is in love with Beth...and here not once has he told her this but he has more than once told her how he has loved other women. Poor Beth sits there and takes it all in...so patient and allowing him to go his own pace but this cant not go on for much longer...like she says in Sonata i dont think i can do this anymore...i dont blame her really. She tried, she gave him ample opportunity to go thru the door and at least meet her half way but it seems as though he is going further away. Yes we all know that he is not Human. Actually i was the one who explained the difference between Mik the Vampire and Beth the Human on a forum and i understand two different entities...but something has got to give thats all i am trying to say. I guess what i am trying to say is lets try....
Exactly he gave up his life for her for his Beth and now it is like she is nothing. Thier is a reason for Micks Behavour i trust he will do the right thing by both of them. I will not condemn him right away, i need to see Sonata and then i will judge even though i did judge earlier on.

For most part i truly agree with you.

danm it danm it danm why does mick have to act as the all bad boy act now. that is what i diidn't want to see him act. plus how could he say it's not a big deal. and flirting with another women that is just straight up bull.
