SPOILER ~ My Recap of Moonlight's season finale ~ Sonata (episode #1x16)

SPOILER ALERT! This is my little recap of Moonlight's season finale ~ Sonata (episode #1x16)
I hope you will bear with me. I'm trying to write my usual episode recap, but I'm a bit upset.
First of all, I must say that I am soooooooooooooooooo glad the feared cliffhanger ending did not happen! When Jason mentioned that in an interview, he must have been referring to the list of Vampires that was mysteriously sent to ADA Talbot.
The producers said Moonlight fans would love the last scene. Very true! Often, fans of beloved, canceled shows are left with nothing but unanswered questions and unfinished storylines. I'm just grateful that we have some closure. However, IF we are fortunate enough to get our show back, they still have amazing stories to tell.
So sweet to see Josef funding a memorial for his Sleeping Beauty. Hearst College ~ funny!
We learn about the willing freshie world. Could Mick have been more uncomfortable when Beth asked how many he has enjoyed over the years?!
Mick and Beth's 4th actual date. I knew it was jinxed as soon as she said it's a date if a dead body is not involved.
Lots of jealousy tonight.... Josef & Simone, Mick & Beth, Emma & Jackson....
Talk about guilty looks as Beth walks in on Josef & Mick sampling Simone's blood. She is confused because feeding was a big deal in the moment she & Mick shared in the desert. Then, Mick says this was no big deal. Of course, there is a difference. Love! He does not have feelings for Simone.
I laughed out loud at this exchange. Beth asks Mick if he is ok after the scuffle during their visit to the frat house. Mick ~ "I got hit in the face with the sacred ass paddle." Beth ~ "Karma!" *grin*
Side note ~ Is being able to tell someone's blood type by taste a new power he has due to Josef's blood? Previously, he was surprised when Beth revealed her rare type.... even tho he had tasted it already.
Beth & Mick both observed the 150 year marriage that Emma & Jackson shared, yet had different perspectives of what that meant.
I chuckled when Jackson, being the gracious host, brought in the drinks. Blood for himself & Mick. Water for Beth.
As always, LOVED the scenes between Josef & Mick. Discussing his possible beyond freshie relationship with Simone... a human.... Josef ~ "Who doesn't like me? Did she say that?" hehehehehe
The gathering of the major vamps in LA. I smiled thinking that Logan got to meet Josef. Remember how envious he sounded about Mick knowing the richest & most powerful Vampyre?
When Jackson was allowed to have a final moment with Emma, I knew he would not leave her side.
Mick seeing their love led to the final scene between him & Beth. At first, he seems to be doing his usual routine. I had no doubts that he would go back to Beth.
"You want to know what Emma & Jackson made me realize? That you were right. You were right all along. This isn't about being a Vampire or a human. This is about us. How we feel about one another. Right here, right now!"
Their love also influences Beth. She asks Mick what she was wearing the night the met.... well... met again. ;> Of course, he knows. All he had to say was his response to her asking how he remembered. "Because, I love you."

Video ~ Living TV's UK promo for Moonlight's season finale ~ Sonata (episode #1x16)
This video is the promo commercial that Living TV is airing in the UK for Moonlight's season finale ~ Sonata (episode #1x16). Great advert! Living really does a fantastic job promoting our show. LOVE the close up they use of Mick St John, our delicious Alex O'Loughlin, at the beginning ( that little smile ) & the one of him vamped out. *swoon* Then, Josef Kostan ( Jason Dohring ) vamping AND hissing. Excellent! I also like seeing the Beth Turner ( Sophia Myles ) & Cleaner ( Claudia Black ) scenes they selected for the clip.
Josef ~ "And, I've got commitment issues." Mick ~ "Yea, me too." hehehehe....
Sonata (episode #1x16) airs on Living TV in the UK ~ Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008 at 10:00 pm.

TV Guide's Matt Roush says "CBS blew it" by canceling Moonlight

SPOILER ALERT.... for those who still have not seen Moonlight's season finale ~ Sonata (episode #1x16)
Matt Roush discusses Moonlight's finale & gives his opinion of the show's potential.
I love this part ~ "There was lots of untapped potential on this show. CBS blew it with this one." The yellow highlight is my emphasis!
Roush Dispatch
Finale Fever: The Critic's Notebook
Another show had a more permanent finale over the weekend. CBS’ cult fave Moonlight wisely faded to black with its romantic heroes, Mick and Beth (Alex O’Loughlin and Sophia Myles), in a clinch, not in some sort of mortal or immortal peril. A cliffhanger would have been the wrong way to go, even if the show had been renewed. “I can’t close the door on Beth,” Mick voice-overed, after Beth tearfully shuts the door on him and their star-crossed vamp-human romance. He rekindles the flame by declaring his love and, more important, remembering what she was wearing the day they met. Moonlight was just starting to deal with interesting notions of undying love among vamps: a vampire couple, together for 150 years, decides to go down in flames together rather than let one be sacrificed alone to “vampire justice” (administered in part by a ferocious Claudia Black of Farscape). We learned about the concept of “freshies,” human “donors” who freely offer their blood to vampire mates. (Josef naturally has one.) Beth was still struggling with feeling left out of all the vampire underworld intrigue, and Mick was still torn between his loyalty to his vampire buds and to his protective yearning for Beth. (“You want me to drink your blood?” he asked her after she catches him and Josef red-mouthed, sucking on Josef’s “freshie.”) There was lots of untapped potential on this show. CBS blew it with this one.

Message to Moonlight fans from David Blue

This is a message to the fans from David Blue, otherwise known as Moonlight's vamp slob/computer guru ~ Logan :)
MOONLIGHT "cancelled" or what?
Okay guys,
About a gajillion of you have been emailing me asking about Moonlight and what I know. Just to clear it all up, the truth is, much like Ugly Betty, I'm not really in the loop about these things. The "Series Regulars" (main leads of the show, i.e. Alex, Jason, Sophia) are the only ones who are sometimes privy to political information about the inner-workings of the shows. As a "Recurring Guest Star" (on both shows) I only really hear stuff when they want to use me or when I'm shooting. So as much as I'd love to tell you what's going on with the show, at this moment I'm getting my info from the same sources as you. (And I'm not about to call Alex or Jason and ask them directly or bother them while we're all dealing with this -- besides, Alex is on a MUCH deserved vacation. The man works fifty hours a DAY).
I would imagine that everybody involved with the show is happy and humbled by your efforts... And very appreciative. My fingers are crossed for something to come together, as I have a lot of fun playing Logan and always laugh when I work with Alex (not to mention everybody else too... Jason, Sophia, Jacob, etc).
*********************************
Now that that's cleared up, make SURE to watch this Friday night's episode!!!! I won't reveal anything, but it was fracking AWESOME to shoot and soooo cool to be involved with. Let me know what you all think!

Sci Fi Wire interviews Jason Dohring ~ Moonlight to end with cliffhanger

According to Sci Fi Wire's new interview with Jason Dohring, Moonlight's season will end with a cliffhanger after all. Hmmmm......
Contains spoilers for Moonlight's season finale ~ Sonata (episode #1x16)
Moonlight's Dohring Looks Ahead
by Cindy White
Jason Dohring, who plays the 400-year-old vampire Josef in CBS' vampire drama Moonlight, told SCI FI Wire that the first-season finale will end with a cliffhanger. (Spoilers ahead!)
"You'll see a lot more of the vampire mythology coming up, but in the final show, you'll see us all kind of meet," Dohring said in an interview. "We have, like, a vampire conference. It's really cool. And we each kind of have our place."
Dohring explained that the vampire community will be forced to come together when it finds itself at risk of being exposed.
"We all get together to solve one problem, which is the threat to secrecy, basically a threat to survival, and that gets sort of complicated," Dohring said. "I think all the vampires are sort of involved, because it's something that's going on with all of them. You'll have to watch to see what's going on with that, but it basically poses quite a little problem for all of us. "
The cast and crew are still awaiting word from CBS as to whether the show will be renewed for a second season. Stars Alex O'Loughlin and Sophia Myles have already expressed their optimism about the possibility of a pickup. Dohring agreed with that sentiment.
"We have some momentum going," the former Veronica Mars star said. "I really feel it. Like, particularly in the last couple weeks since we've been doing all this promotion for the show. I feel like it's really swinging in our favor. I think that some promising things could happen. We're creating good shows, and I think if we can just get people to see them, then they'll hang around."
Dohring has additional incentive to hope for a renewal, having heard some of the ideas the writers are working on for the second season.
"[Producer Joel Silver] took us out to dinner, and we kind of pumped the writers for stories and what's going on," Dohring said. "There's going to be some cool stuff. There's going to be some historical events that went down that were shaped by vampires. You know what I mean? I'm looking forward to that. Like, big, huge things that you learn in your first year of school that were vampire-influenced."
And will his character be a part of those events?
"Hell, yeah," Dohring said. "I've been alive a long time."
Moonlight airs Fridays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Spoilers ~ Watch with Kristin's scoop for Moonlight's season finale ~ Sonata (episode #1x16)

E! Online's Watch with Kristin has given us some scoop information for Moonlight's season finale ~ Sonata (episode #1x16). It airs on Friday, May 16th, 2008. Only one new episode to go!
SPOILER ALERT!
Remember the willing freshie scene in the promo that is causing all the debate.........
Moonlight Bosses Dish on the Show's Fate and What's to Come
In less than a week, we will finally know the fate of CBS's Moonlight: Picked up or not? I would love to give you some advance notice on the verdict, but there is no word yet according to exec producers Gabrielle Stanton and Harry Werksman. They expect to hear next week, and we'll be sure to bring you the announcement as soon as we know!
Howevah! In lieu of pickup news, I did get the next best thing: scoop about the finale!
According to Gabrielle and Harry, "You can tell the fans we're going to play with some cool Mick-Beth-Josef relationship stuff in our season finale. We're going to delve more deeply into the world of 'freshies' (humans who let vampires feed off them)."
I'm told we'll also learn that Josef isn't as opposed to vampire-human relationships as you would think from the lectures he's always giving Mick.
G&H also spill: "Beth is going to see a shocking side of Mick and be faced with some harsh realities about being in love with a vampire." Of course, the vampire she's in love with is Mick St. John, "So don't expect our intrepid couple to 'close the door' on their future. Or will they? We think fans will like the last scene..."
