Moonlight Movie Campaign

We have all been dreaming of and fighting for a Moonlight movie ever since the untimely cancelation of our series. I know that many of you have been dedicated to contacting Warner Bros & Joel Silver (Silver Productions) asking for a film. Now, in honor of the anniversary of Moonlight's premiere, fans are organizing to get everyone to write in & let them know what we want!

Big thanks to my friend Kelly for creating this wonderful video to promote the campaign, and to Nikki for this fantastic idea to have everyone work together :)

MOONLIGHT MOVIE CAMPAIGN - ANNIVERSARY WEEKEND WRITE-IN / EMAIL (SEPT. 25-27TH 2009)

Two years ago our beloved show premiered on Sept. 28, 2007 and in just a few short episodes millions of people fell in love. Moonlight was more than just a show, something we wish more people could comprehend.

It brought people together, some who had never even seen a message board before, and formed friendships that will last a lifetime. It inspired people to learn things they would never have thought they'd be able to do like graphic design, video editing, writing and even web design. For some it was even a lifeline; one beautiful, bright moment for an hour every week where they could escape to. Not to mention the countless amount of lives saved thanks to our blood drive efforts.

There is no doubt that we as a fandom have suffered many a heartache and cruel criticisms. However, we are asking everyone to put aside any negative feelings and take a moment to reflect back on the good times, and how Moonlight changed your life or may have saved the life of someone you may not even know.

With that in mind, on the weekend of Sept.25-27th we ask that everyone send a letter or postcard to the people listed below in hopes that someone will finally understand how much love there STILL is for this show around the world and grant our wish for a movie.

Continuing to contact Joel Silver & Warner Bros Studio

WOW! I've received heaps of messages from folks letting me know that they have also been writing to Warner Bros & Joel Silver. Urging them to give us more Moonlight. That makes me too happy :) :) :) I'm thrilled that you have been in this campaign too.... and not at all surprised by your dedication. We've been contacting Silver Pictures & the WB for months, and will continue to do so ~ right?!?!?

Many comments came from international fans saying that they have been sending mail. Some are using postcards showcasing their country. Very smart! Movie studios & producers want to make piles of money in the US and abroad. Mounds of colorful fan mail adorned with "Greetings from....... Australia, Germany, Brazil, Israel, England, Canada, Russia, Italy, Spain, Ireland, etc etc" is a great visual to remind them of the $$$ to be made around the world with Moonlight.

I received another exciting batch of emails from those who have not been writing to Joel Silver &/or Warner Bros ~ but now plan to after hearing Alex O'Loughlin's encouraging remarks. *cheer*

You asked for ideas about what to write. It is best to be concise and on point, since you are contacting busy people. Here are a few things I have written in various messages.... I will follow Moonlight no matter where it goes.... ask for a DVD release for season one.... encourage them to produce a film..... point out the continued support from fans even though Moonlight was canceled months ago.... express my love for our show (cast, crew and writers).... unlimited storylines.... thanks for giving us Moonlight in the first place.... Vampires are extremely popular right now.... untapped revenue to be had from movies & merchandise.... and so on :)

Video from the Moonlight fan rally in LA

Greenie made this great video of the Moonlight fans rallying outside Warner Bros Studios in LA last Friday afternoon. It is wonderful to be able to see the girls in action ~ holding signs and cheering in the rain! Listen to all the people honking their horns in support. Such a positive gathering :)

Thank you, again, to the marvelous Moonlight fans who braved the bad weather to rally & represent those who couldn't be there!

Report from the rally

My sweet friend, Cinnamon, was one of the amazing Moonlight fans who rallyed for our show today.... er.... uh.... yesterday now. :) She reports that well over 100 people were there in the rain! Fans were on all four corners at the intersection. They held signs and cheered while receiving lots of honks, waves and positive feedback from those driving by AND people on the Warner Bros lot.

Thank you to all those who stood up for Moonlight and fans around the world!

Moonlight Fans To Rally

Fans of CBS' canceled vampire drama Moonlight will convene in Los Angeles over Memorial Day weekend to rally in support of the show at Warner Brothers studios in Burbank, Calif. The rally is scheduled for 2 p.m. PT at the corner of North Pass and West Olive avenues. The studio is the home of Silver Pictures, which produces the series with Warner.

Moonlight fans have also sponsored an ad to run in both The Hollywood Reporter on May 21 and in Variety on May 22 to thank the cast and crew for creating the show and to demonstrate to potential networks the depth of the fans loyalty to the series.

Fans are hoping another TV network will pick up the series from CBS.

Fans will be in town for MoonlightCon, the first fan convention for the series.

This is a positive gathering! Feel free to bring signs/posters showing your support of Moonlight, Silver Pictures and the WB. We want to encourage them to continue trying to find a home for our show.

This is not a protest against the studio or to bash CBS.

Warner Bros Emmy consideration ad in Hollywood Reporter

Warner Bros Television placed a full page advertisement in the Hollywood Reporter today (page 2). The "For Your Consideration" ad asks the Emmy Awards voters to nominate WB tv programs for various categories. Moonlight is included! YEA! They are submitting it for Outstanding Drama Series. Wouldn't it be wonderful if our show was nominated for an Emmy? And then... if it won an Emmy to go with the People's Choice Award?!?

I would vote for Alex O'Loughlin as Best Lead Actor in a Drama too. No one has worked harder & been as dedicated to their show. He spent grueling hours on the set, followed by more time promoting Moonlight. Alex brought Mick St John to vivid life!
